Didn't Luke, Leia and Han do that?
And she's not going to do that if it's set 15 years after the one that came out 5 years before.

My mistake. I meant the order of the movies themselves. I kind of don’t like the 15 year gap, for now. It feels like Rey could do more in between. I hope we get some lightsaber fights more like the prequels, honestly. There was a lacking of fights like that in the sequels.

Still hoping for Patty Jenkins and Rogue Squadron, and even the Rian Johnson trilogy. I’m still bummed about Guillermo del Toro and the Jabba The Hutt movie being canceled.

I feel like it’s too soon for a Rey film. They should hold off on it for another six years or so, make us feel the years had passed.

I wish this would have come out this weekend. Here’s hoping to the future.

    😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂

WW84 came out shortly after they made that trailer.Even that was too garbage for KK!

They can add it to list of announced and subsequently unmade SW content such as..

    The Rian Johnson trilogy
    The Benioff and Weiss trilogy
The Rangers Of The New Republic

I’m guessing the James Mangold Star Wars movie will be cancelled after the massive flop that was Indiana Jones 5.

Hopefully they cancel the Rey Palpatine movie too.

I’m all for a Rey movie, just so that she has a better send off than TROS. Gotta wipe the stink of Abrams off.

I like Daisy Ridley so I hope she gets something good to be a part of.

Admittedly, I’m just not gravitating to STAR WARS as much these days. To me, this should ideally be a film franchise. I only saw MANDO because my roommate wanted to watch it together, so I’m pretty invested in that one. I only saw Obi-Wan because of McGregor returning.

I tried to watch CLONE WARS, but the whole foundation of the premise as laid out in ATTACK OF THE CLONES is so uninteresting and problematic that I just can’t get invested in it. I ignored THE BOOK OF BOBA FETT because I’m absolutely against the premise of Fett getting “redeemed” and having his death retconned. That’s like making an Oddjob show and focusing on him becoming a more noble henchman. Like, WHY?

Didn’t bother with ANDOR. I don’t like ROGUE ONE so I don’t see how I could like that. And I didn’t bother with AHSOKA because I have no connection with CLONE WARS or REBELS.

Yes, the character does deserve better. I hope JJ Abrams doesn't ever come back to Star Wars. Daisy Ridley is greatly charming. Someday, I'd like to see her have a role in Bond.

There might be some truth to that. Think Colin Trevorrow after The Book of Henry. Probably didn't help that Carrie Fisher died. People are probably afraid of working for Star Wars between the fans and the business people in charge.

I like Daisy Ridley as an actress. The character of Rey is awful but the poor writing was not her fault.

I have a completely unrelated question for the room.

Most of the SW scores have been given deluxe/extended/special edition releases, containing at least two hours of music--official releases, I might add. Yet nothing of the kind for Clones or Sith. I wonder why, especially given the very impressive Ultimate Edition of the Ep. I score. And since it has been nearly 20 years, and SW is still very popular, it seems only appropriate for Ep. II and Ep. III to follow in those footsteps. Minority Report, A.I., E.T., JP, WOTW, Harry Potter, even Hook, ... all have been given multi-disc releases through official channels.

Does anyone have any "inside" information or something pertaining to this matter? I'm just curious, that's all. So far, I've only found some unverifiable internet gossip.

IIRC, Williams didn’t score as much material for AOTC and ROTS because Lucas became attached to temp scores that he would keep in the final film rather than have Williams flesh out entirely new scores for each. At least, that could be part of the reason.

Same thing happened with SPECTRE where Mendes liked keeping the temp scoring in the final cut rather than having Newman score the entire film.

I see. That is, indeed, a plausible explanation. Thanks, @MakeshiftPython!

I do enjoy the prequel scores, listening to Bounty Hunters Pursuit now from AOTC.

I think the prequel music is some of John Williams’ best work. As George Lucas said, he’s the “secret sauce” of what makes the movies work. Jon Faverau said that his music is the one thing that fans can generally agree on being great.

Totally agree listening to ROTS Anakin's Betrayal which has great depth, Williams themes evoke emotions that the actors don't always convey. This score elevates the film considerably.

Something that i noticed recently is that they've been reintroducing concepts and characters from the Legends Expanded Universe lately.
So far, they reintroduced the Zombie Stormtroopers from the Death Troopers novel in Ashoka and Dash Rendar from Shadows of the Empire has been mentioned in Andor, i think.
Not to mention, there was apparently a film adaptation of Heir to the Empire in the works.

To be honest, i think that the main problem with the Sequel Trilogy was the poor writing at times.
Also the change of director from J.J. Abrams to Rian Johnson for The Last Jedi and them back to Abrams for The Rise of Skywalker.

Yesterday, i found out The Imperial March is canon in-universe and is the Empire's anthem. That's cool.

As well as existing in Indiana Jones' universe as a dinner jazz tune :)

It doesn't really work in a major key though, does it? It still sounds sinister and then it just kind of falls apart a bit! :)

I can’t imagine many being against this project, aside from those who probably don’t like THE MANDALORIAN.

So many people get announced as making SW films; I'll believe it when I see it.
Mando felt a touch played out in the last series so they'll have to find a story.

A Mando film should be good and potentially great if they avoid some of the mistakes they made in season 3.

A Star Wars film i'd like to see would be a Spin-off starring the Stormtroopers during the original trilogy.

I thought S2 was a step down with Boba Fett and the inclusion of Stuntman Luke.

To be fair, Mando himself is pretty much played full-time by a stuntman!

That’s okay. I don’t need the voice actor to inhabit the suit all the time. James Earl Jones never wore the suit and he’s still Darth Vader.
