The constant use of shallow focus on AOTD was extremely off-putting. It looks like he has abandoned that for Rebel Moon.

Oh yes, sorry; when I said it looks appalling, I meant the film overall rather than just the visuals. Yes it looks like more people have put work into the visuals of this, I'm sure they'll have done lovely work.

I remember being incredibly excited for AOTD after the trailer dropped. It looked like a back-to-basics romp which Snyder could probably excel at if he decided to keep it simple.

The film, unfortunately, was not that.

I gave AOTD 10 or 15 minutes before I shut it off, and I'm usually good about sticking through bad movies until the end these days.

I think I got about 25 minutes into AOTD myself and switched it off, I rarely subscribe to Netflix so not had the opportunity to finish the film,. To be honest I was bored with what I did see.

I watched the film in full because I'm a completist, but I agree. I have yet to see anything (live-action) from Snyder that I dislike... except AOTD.

I enjoyed AOTD.It was just a bit of silly fun and Snyder more than likely saw it as a palette cleanser after all the drama of his magnificent DCEU trilogy ( His final cuts of them anyway )

Ahsoka just keeps getting better and better. I was on the edge of my seat throughout this latest episode. What an ending.

Ahsoka E4 Wow that was awesome, hands down the best Disney+ TV episode by some distance. The action was so well done and Ray Stevenson ^:)^

The production value on this show is very impressive they clearly set aside a large chunk of TV budget for this as it is far superior to shows like Boba Fett, Obi Wan and Mando S3. This should be the benchmark for every episode of Star Wars.

The episode was directed by Peter Ramsey who worked on the Into The Spiderverse and it shows, give this a guy a Star Wars movie now!

I am totally on board for the introduction of
Majick/Force Magic and a new galaxy in live action Star Wars, I think Star Wars had become a little stale and needs fresh idea's to expand upon.

Edited: Just finished my third rewatch, some of the best Star Wars since ROTS, I love this episode.

SPOILERS FOR THE FIRST FOUR EPISODES..

Good god this show is garbage. Not Obi Wan Kenobi levels of bad but just..bad.

Terribly paced ( what’s with all the LONG pauses in between dialogue ?)

Rosario Dawson ( an actress I like ) looks incredibly bored and has none of the spark of the Ahsoka character from the animated series.

Ahsoka in space deflecting lasers from fighters…laughable ( Just shoot her from a distance you idiots or get one of your droid pilots to kamikaze her ship )

Women are impervious to lightsaber stabbings ( Because the force is female apparently )

The ball map is weaker than Sabine ( Lightsabers work on it but not her!😂)

What the HELL did they do to Hayden Christensens face ? ( It was so plastic that his lips could barely move! )

Ray Stevenson is good and deserved better ( RIP )

Is it too much to hope that the way between worlds will reboot the KK era and delete the sequel trilogy? If this actually happened,it would bring a lot of the fans back because as it is,Star Wars is as dead as Star Trek is right now ( Picard S3 notwithstanding).

I’m on a waiting list for the Empire magazine screening of Ahsoka Episode 5 this Tuesday. Is anyone else going to that?

Ah I just heard about that on their spoiler special today: that's a fun idea, hope you get in.

I have a few theories about Ahsoka episode 5, the fact it is getting a theatrical release suggests it will be a big deal.

Well we know one big character is definitely going to feature, I imagine Thrawn must be showing up too, hopefully.

D+ just dropped the price of subscription down to €1:99 a month fir the next three months and putting an Ahsoka episode on the big screen? They are getting desperate to recover all the millions of subscribers they lost over the last year or so.

Is that some first time customer deal or something? Here in the U.S., the price is going up to $14/month come October. It's happening with all the streaming apps.

I think it’s for both new and old customers.

Thank you. I’m keeping my fingers crossed. I was fortunate enough to see the first two episodes on the big screen at a fan event. These Star Wars TV shows are of the highest cinematic qualities when it comes to production values. My husband rented a cinema screen for my birthday last year and we got some friends together to watch the final episode of Kenobi. The cinema screen and sound system did wonders for that show.

I hope he (and the other directors) get to make their movies. They all sound promising. In particular, Patty Jenkins and Rogue Squadron.

I'd still trust him, as long as he's careful with his trademark humor.

Ahsoka episode 5 Some interesting visuals though certain scenes made me want a completely different show featuring the guest star.

At the the end of the episode I felt this was souly designed to try to put over Filloni's creations, and god did he dwell on them.

With very little exposition some people who have not seen Rebels may not connect with this.

Filoni directed this episode and it was very ponderous, he is not very good when it comes to pacing it was a stark contrast to last weeks show.

Ahsoka and Hera just feel flat and dull and devoid of personality, the strength of the show is some of the other characters that were absent this week.
  • I dunno, I thought it was one of the best Star Wars tv episodes yet! In a way, Ahsoka's arc has come full circle since it began in 2008. The stage is set for the final 3 episodes, all we know is Grand Admiral Thrawn will appear (from the trailers).

    The
    Anakin and younger Ahsoka
    scenes were good.

I am seriously getting bored of hearing Mon Mothna saying there is no evidence of wrong doing, it's idiotic.

Yeah that was a touch slow, wasn't it? Felt like it was spinning its wheels somewhat there. What did the Anakin scenes actually add? And when was he supposed to be from? I remember the bridge of time stuff from Rebels but I'm not sure it worked with a sort of amalgam character like that before.
    Hera's head though

Lando is set to be a theatrical film now instead of a series:

Why? Not to be cynical but that does not seem like a huge success, based on box office demographics, that star's current relevancy, the state of the franchise, and the trend of the studio's recent output. But hey, maybe there's something that will click, Glover is very charismatic but I can't say I loved his Lando, not that I wouldn't give it another shot.

Interesting, I don't hate that. I think I'd prefer a snappy conman/heist film than another long drawn out series.
  • That's good. "Obi-Wan" and "Boba Fett" should have been films too. They had 2 hour stories stretched to 6.
