I sil think Eon should consider to ask Bliss back as Moneypenmy, she is only 62.

My favourite Moneypenny with my favourite Bond... and Barry. TLD had to be my #1 Bond movie!

How good does Caroline Bliss look here? I watched LTK yesterday, John Glen was a fool to have her hair tied up and wearing glasses!

    Is that Brighton?

Edit: had a quick look, apparently yes- seems to be from Brighton Film Festival

Well spotted @mtm, what sharp little eyes you have. ;)
And a great photo as well. Caroline Bliss was wasted in the Dalton films, she could've and should've stayed on for the Brosnan films.

I think at least they could have made more of her as Moneypenny...it would have been pure Bliss! The way she was portrayed was sort of detrimental to the role, younger but even more conservative and slightly dumbed-down from Lois' portrayal. She deserved better, and I liked her more than Samantha Bond's later portrayal of MP.

To be fair to Barry Manilow (!), his songs have survived in the culture longer than those from TLD.

Bliss never did it for me in the films but I have to admit she's incredibly stunning and alluring in these shots.

I love this thread, not only because it showcases the movies behind the scenes, but because i also get to see others' profile pics in high quality.

Love that forced perspective technique that would continue with OP. Were there any other examples of that in the series?

I'm pretty sure that Sanchez base when the helicopter lands uses the same technique.
Sorry, it only occurred to me today.

I adore them as well @DarthDimi. In some, better, alt-universe there is a world in which we ‘yanks” took to Dalton’s portrayal of Bond and he went on to have a long and successful run. And while this thread isn't the place for it, I've often wondered what (if anything) EON could have done to better establish Dalton with the public.

Anyway, someone is a big fan.

I have my quibbles with Dalton. I wish he showed a side of Bond that relished the hedonism more. He was missing just a bit of the “star” charisma as 007.

But, when he was good (his unstoppable drive to “win”, especially in LTK, his cold ruthlessness (putting Pushkin on his knees and sticking a gun in his face), his anger (popping the balloon in TLD was, and is, awesome), he was damn good. He’s a lesson to be happy when we have something special, because all too soon, they will be gone.

Thats a great video. I always loved that throwaway moment with Bond reacting to the cheap coffee. And I havent seen that cut clip from LTK, only in photos, they should have left it in, it looks superb!

While Connery is my favorite individual Bond, Dalton/Bond and d'Abo/Kara will always be my favorite Bond/Bond girl couple in the series,.

Yes I liked his Bond's drive, as you put it: he was clearly motivated. But he lacked the swagger and self-confidence that all the other Bonds had, and I wonder if that's not what the audience at large like about Bond. Dalton's Bond never does anything like the Range Rover parking valet key toss from CR, or the grape-eating of TB, or even the hotel lobby from DAD. I think the audience like a bit of swagger, and he's the only one missing it.
And yeah, the charisma is down a notch from Roger. I'm not sure he even really sells the "Better make that two" line. Whereas weirdly he feels like a bigger star in Rocketeer to me: I'd have liked to have seen him play Bond with a different director perhaps.
Despite my quibbles with TD, TLD is possibly my favourite Bond movie. It hits the sweet spot in terms of tone for me, and came out when I was the right age so it's got a bit of a special spot in my affections.

I actually don't mind that Dalton didn't have some of the swagger of the other Bonds. Makes him unique in that way, but I understand of course that it is part of the character that audiences enjoy.
He's still one of the best Bond's and imo is the closest we've got to Fleming's Bond.
TLD is a fantastic debut movie, and Dalton really is brilliant.

Dalton had enough swagger in the Pushkin scene for me!

I think he seems quite twitchy and nervous there. Roger probably would have played it sitting down and looking cool! :)

There's quite a fun photo of him on the Rock when shooting the PTS where he's meeting a young commando by the name of Lt Bond, I think.

Seeing these photos reinforces why I see Dalton as the first reboot, or new incarnation of the character. Yes some of the actors surrounding him are the same, and like Judi Dench are playing the same characters, but there is no way that I can accept this as the same Bond seen in AVTAK.

To see more Behind The Scenes Images and Archives, there will be an auction by the 007 Magazine, an online silent auction, although, the actual bidding ended since October 7.

Here's some examples from The Living Daylights (the pictures' bid cost are 350-450 GBP)
