Daniel Craig's to Lucia in Spectre because it goes with the intensity of the scene - , the little pause he puts in between Bond and then James Bond really works well in that scene.

My favorite version too. Moore practiced the line so as to not sound like Sean and it paid off. He delivers it beautifully. In fact, of all the 007s (including Sean) I feel he said the line the best. It never called attention to it self as it does in the Brosnan films, and wasn't a throw away like the Dalton films.

Am I right in thinking that TWINE is the only Bond film where it is said more than once? Once to Elektra and once to Christmas.

GoldenEye's one is my favourite (apart from Dr No). So classy!

I've got to go with Roger Moore's delivery in LALD too. Very well delivered line.

He says it twice in OHMSS, 3 times in TMWTGG (although one of those is in the third person), twice in FYEO, twice in AVTAK and twice in TWINE.

Connery: I think the only other moment in the 60's where he uses the line is in GF and it's a great moment. Also one of the worst ones in DAF.

Lazenby: liked the one from OHMSS a lot actually.

Moore: as said before, he did create his own distinctive version of the line, LALD and OP stand out for me.

Dalton: quite liked it how they demystified the line, suiting Dalton's Bond perfectly.

Brosnan: great delivery in GE and to Elektra in TWINE. The one to Christmas is way too American though, ranks pretty low in my opinion.

Craig: the one from CR is very good, but I wasn't too happy about the SP one.

Connery: Goldfinger. Well, I would've gone with Dr. No but the rules and regulations say we can't use that, so...

Moore: Has to be The Man With The Golden Gun or A View To A Kill.

    Dalton: The Living Daylights. PTS.

Brosnan: The World Is Not Enough (to Elektra).

Craig: Without a doubt Casino Royale.

    Connery: Goldfinger.

    Moore: Live and Let Die

    Dalton: The Living Daylights. PTS.

    Brosnan: GoldenEye

    Craig: Spectre

One of the things about the line in the post Dalton films is the sense Eon is trying to recreate the DR NO version pretty much every time now.
I feel in some respects in regards to the writing, it comes off unnatural. Does he really have to wait until someone addresses him interrogatively as " Mister..........." before saying it? That was iconic in DR. NO, smooth especially with the suave Louis Jourdan in OP, but in the entire Cubby era, those were the only 2 times it was presented in that type of scenario.
Now, it calls attention to itself as a catch phrase akin to Gary Coleman's "Whatchoo talkin' about". It's like the writer's struggle to fit that "Mister......." cue in.
In MR, he just goes up and introduces himself to Holly using the line. Simple, no frills, and most importantly it's natural. Why couldn't they have just done that with, say, Elektra in TWINE?
I love the fact in CR it is set up splendidly, and is probably my favorite of any of the later films.

Since not allowed to use DN I'd say CR. It came off very cool and I get a chill every time I see it. Just cool. But the one not allowed still stays above it.

    Trench, Sylvia Trench.

People should realise it's because of her that Bond introduces himself that way.

Yes. She must have had quite an impact on him before his flight to Jamaica for him permanently to steal her spiel.
In the reboot universe he steals the intro from Mathis.

Even though, it was John Drake as an on-screen spy to beat Bond into that metaphor. ;)

He does say it in some of the Fleming novels- I'm pretty sure he says it to Domino in TB.

If my memory serves right, didn't Bond introduce himself to Felix like that in Casino Royale?

I think so- been a few years since I read it.

Most memorable-at the end of CR. The Bond theme kicking in is a huge reason, of course. The film ended on a high note, which was a smart decision.

I rather like Moore's delivery of the line to Melina after the car chase in FYEO. He says it with a real amused look on his face!

That's another of my fave Moore deliveries. The smugness on his face is a joy to watch.

    Connery: DAF PTS.
    Craig: Ending of CR.

Brosnan always failed that line. Bahnd, James Bahnd. Yes indeed, you were rather bland. Or maybe I am a bit too hard towards ol'' Pierce, since I kinda liked him the role - and his era was really, really important to the series.
  • Connery: DAF PTS.

I don't know why they, like, sped it up for the film, but he delivered it perfectly in the trailer for DAF.

Next to Connery's iconic introduction, then CR is easily my favourite. Moore managed to make the line his own and I like most of his deliveries, but Craig definitely earned his moment there. I'd probably rank the overall deliveries Connery, Craig, Moore.

Otherwise, I'm indifferent to Dalton and Lazenby (both were fine in their respective deliveries, but nothing standout).

Brosnan is my least favourite. In GoldenEye I always felt like he basically whispered the line, and as someone else pointed it - it often sounds very American when he says it. On top of that, too much was usually made of the moment in his films. The worst offender is when he says it to Christmas. Let's just pause for dramatic effect, blast up this underground shaft, and then I will finish telling you my name!

The editing of the entire pre-titles is bizarre. It might very well be my least favourite in the entire series.

GE is my favorite (though you can't beat Connery in DN), with other highlights being Moore in LALD and Craig in both CR and SF.
