Absolutely, if this pandemic has taught me anything it is that I will strive to be the best version of myself and live life to the fullest.

Cheers though my fitness was not great 15 months ago I was obese and 32kg heavier, thankfully now I have addressed that.

I have got myself into the same shape I was when I was 21 years old (I am 50 in a few years), which is my takeaway from the pandemic.

I know in the UK obesity is a major issue, I was lucky I worked throughout the pandemic which kept me motivated to train.

R.I.P. Jean Paul Belmondo, I watched some of his and Alain Delon's films in my youth, and of course Jean Paul had a cameo in CR67.

Nope, the second picture comes from Up to His Ears (Les Tribulations d'un Chinois en Chine). In The Man from Rio, he played with Françoise Dorléac.

To add, "Bebel" also gave us the wonderful parody Le Magnifique (The Man from Acapulco), not to be missed.

Appreciate the correction @Gerard, adjusted above. I didn't note the detail for what I looked up.

I plan to watch Le Magnifique (The Man from Acapulco) this afternoon as you recommended. I'm seeing comments like "the infamous opening".

Three stories : "The Mysterious Planet", "The Ultimate Foe" and "DragonFire", which introduced Ace.

I had forgotten about The Ultimate Foe. I must have blended his appearances in the TOATL series into one story, rather than two, in my head.

I still need to watch The Wire but I absolutely loved him as Chalky White in BE.
    A marvelous actor.

Gutted to read about @barryt007 's passing. I remember him as a very friendly member on these boards, who was always very responsive and enthusiastic. My condolences to his family and to all who knew him well.

Fantastic actor, who excelled both in arthouse cinema, such as the marvellous À BOUT DE SOUFFLE, as well as in energetic entertainment, such as LE CERVEAU.

I still have to watch LE PROFESSIONNEL, maybe tonight would be a good moment to do so.

What a shame to hear about Tony Selby. One of those great character actors who would turn up in many things and always leave an impression. Loved him in the sitcom Get Some In as the bullish, shouty RAF sergeant major.

I really like Le professionnel. Early on, it creates some terrific intrigue and mystery, as we slowly discover who is who and what exactly is going on. And it uses Morricone's Chi Mai extensively, even more than the theme Morricone composed for this film. No matter; it works wonderfully. I could say more about the film but you should discover its attributes yourself!

Yesterday, I watched Le marginal, a film I had thought quite a bit about --the poster, the score...-- but I hadn't really sat down to watch the whole thing. Now I did. It's solid, and with an interesting, somewhat unexpected ending (for me anyway). Belmondo is remarkably physical, his face being visible in most of the action shots. Only in a select few from too far away I wasn't sure if it was him, but it could well have been. Anyway, his vitality adds a great deal to the proceedings. I also appreciate the brief yet tantalizing insights into his character, such as his explanation of why he lives where he lives.

Actor Jean-Louis Richard appears in both films, but I must admit I didn't recognize him at first in Le marginal. He appears in only one scene, and wears a beard, unlike in Le professionnel.

Edit: And cool automatic pistol near the end of the film.

I just want to leave a post to give my respects to all who lost their lives in the 9/11 attacks, and all those were affected by those losses. I was not in New York City, but in the same state the day it happened at a very young age. Simply one of the worst and most devastating days in American history.

Oh man, this is so crushing - Norm Macdonald has passed away at the age of 61 after a nine-year private battle with cancer. I'm gutted, he's always been one of my favorite comedians.
