Hmm... Could be, but I'd be very surprised. We all know Cary Fukunaga is a fairly artistic film maker, but debuting a Bond film at a film festival? Has that ever happened before?
Plus, if you would do that, then surely you'd try to get it screened at Venice and not Deauville...

The Deauville film festival (which will start Sept. 3th) has announced that there will be 5 event movies this year: Sean Penn's FLAG DAY, STILLWATER with Matt Damon, CITY OF LIES with Johnny Depp, Paul Schrader's THE CARD COUNTER... AND a mysterious "long awaited" and unnamed fifth movie... It can't be DUNE nor The LAST DUEL because it will premiered at Venice Film Festival (the concurrent festival that takes place at the same time) so a lot of people begin to think that it could be the last adventure of our favorite vodka martini enthusiast, NO TIME DIE ! Fingers crossed... https://www.festival-deauville.com/5-films-evenements-a-deauville/

    Never.

The Quantum of Solice World premiere was part of the London Film Festival. But that was a coincidence.

They won't have a festival premiere several weeks before the release date.

I agree this is not the right Film Festival but that coukd be the right strategy to build some word of mouth going into the intial theatrical release.

It's probably Dune - which is premiering in Venice on Sept 3 and also screening in Toronto...and is released in France on the 15th.

Yeah I think that's a nice one. I quite like that they've resisted putting a gun in his hand.

They probably paid quite a lot to reserve that venue. Would really hurt if it delays again.

Don;t think they'd snag that spot if they weren't very confident.

I don't feel like the RAH can be the best venue to watch a film at! :) I've only seen two there, but they had a live orchestra so that made it better.

A red carpet world premiere is not for the entertainment of those involved. It's for the media. It's an PR event.

Of course you can enjoy the movie better at a proper cinema.

I wonder when the tickets will go back on sale? Were they about about 4 weeks before the release date last time?

Kind of meta how NTTD mirrors Craig himself — guy who thought he was out but pulled back in for one last mission.

Beautiful. You know, I've always thought as much as I love Billie Eillish and the song she provided, it would've been really cool if they continued to capitalise on this mixture between England and Jamaica with the two locations and two of their actresses, by having someone like Jorja Smith do the title song - as she also has Jamaican heritage, and would be perfect for a Bond song.

Jorja's voice is much much better for the job. Give her the right Bond track and it will be a hit. But I'm afraid Babs & co will not include Jamaica or the caribbean in B26

Nothing should've been delayed, forbidden or closed for a virus that 99.5% of the infected survive. I'm really, really sick of this so called pandemic. Covid is not the pest ffs.
