In Italy the curve is slowly rising again and that’s because of all the people that are coming back from other countries (without mentioning the migrants from Africa) so in order to keep the infections under control the government decided that all the citizens coming back from Spain, Greece, Croatia and Malta will be forced to make the test from now on.

Yesterday, the USA recorded nearly 1,500 deaths, the country's deadliest day of the pandemic since mid-May.

    ----

This past week, 3.3 million US citizens registered to claim unemployment benefits. This is the all-time highest unemployment rate in US history. The previous record was set in 1982, when unemployment claims hit 695,000.

As feared, the global economy will be left in very, very bad shape from the coronavirus.
The US has once again obliterated their all-time highest unemployment rate, as this past week 6.6 million US citizens registered to claim unemployment benefits.

    https://edition.cnn.com/2020/04/02/economy/unemployment-benefits-coronavirus/index.html
A further 6.6 million US citizens have filed for unemployment benefits this past week. That makes for a total of 16 million jobs lost in the United States in the past 3 weeks. For comparison, the 2008 financial crisis accounted for a total 9 million jobs lost, over a much longer period (18 months).
Another 5.5 million US citizens have filed for unemployment benefits this past week. There is now a total of nearly 22 million jobs lost in the United States in the last month. This is nearly 32 times than the previous highest unemployment rate in U.S. history (695,000 jobless citizens in 1982).

Another 4.4 million US citizens have filed for unemployment benefits this past week. There is now a total of of 26.4 million jobs lost in the United States since the coronavirus outbreak begun. This means that more than 15% of the U.S. workforce are now unemployed. This is nearly 38 more times more than the previous highest unemployment rate in U.S. history.

A further 3.8 million US citizens have filed for unemployment benefits this past week. There is now a total of over 30 million jobs lost in the United States since the coronavirus outbreak begun. This is over 43 times bigger than the previous highest unemployment rate in U.S. history (695,000 jobless citizens in 1982).

Another 3.5 million US citizens have filed for unemployment benefits this past week. There is now a total of over 33.5 million jobs lost in the United States since the coronavirus outbreak begun. This is over 48 times bigger than the previous highest unemployment rate in U.S. history (695,000 jobless citizens in 1982).

Another 3 million US citizens have filed for unemployment benefits this past week. There is now a total of over 36.5 million jobs lost in the United States since the coronavirus outbreak begun. One in four US workers are now unemployed. This is over 52 times bigger than the previous highest unemployment rate in U.S. history (695,000 jobless citizens in 1982).

    https://www.bbc.com/news/business-52664929
A further 2.4 million US citizens have filed for unemployment benefits this past week. There is now a total of nearly 39 million jobs lost in the United States since the coronavirus outbreak begun. This is over 56 times bigger than the previous highest unemployment rate in U.S. history (695,000 jobless citizens in 1982).

I haven't done an update on this in a while:

There are currently 56 million unemployed citizens in the United States. This is over 80 times bigger than the previous highest unemployment rate in U.S. history (695,000 jobless citizens in 1982).

Russia reached an agreement in principle with Saudia Arabia and the United Arab Emirates to conduct clinical trials of its coronavirus vaccine, the head of its sovereign wealth fund said.
China and Russia may also work together on a vaccine, a top Chinese virus expert said.

It is in fact very likely. Certain people (maybe even politicians! who'da thunk!) dismiss scientific facts as irrational when they don't match their twisted ideology, but gratefully quote people with some sort of university degree gratefully when those go bonkers and spew madness.

As of september 1st, masks will be mandatory in businesses, and not only in stores. Which means that I'll be forced to wear one at my workplace. Well, there's still outside and at home.

I can only speak for my country, but when they reported the expected death rate and the Corona reported death rate, there was just about 1/3rd not accounted for. And we didn't have a heatwave, than one came later. So yes, you can expect the ctual number of Coronavirus deaths to have been considerably higher than reported, especially during the time hospitals were flooded with patiens.

Face masks are now mandatory everywhere in Paris: both indoors and outdoors. France is nearing 6,000 cases a day now.

    ---

Germany is set to limit private gatherings to 25 people and extend the ban of large events until January 2021.

We get it you all hate Trump. I don't particularly like the guy either. But America is doing pretty good given that media two weeks ago was just stating that we had over 5million confirmed cases. Death rate is relativity low compared to the confirmed cases. And can we even trust the confirmed cases? Just this week, our football teams were getting alot of false positives out of NJ testing center.

I guess 186,000 deaths is nothing. Just a drop in the ocean.

A few examples of countries currently recording their biggest daily case numbers: France, Germany, South Korea, Japan. Add them together, and you get less than half the current daily cases in the USA. The current USA daily numbers are themselves half their own record.
