  So you say you wonder where folk music went to? Hey, it's still here -- you just need to know where to look. I just ran across this newly-released version of a Stephen Foster classic, written in 1854, recorded many times by many artists...but none (perhaps) more movingly than this one by Arlo Guthrie (him again?) and friends. Watch the video, listen to the music -- and just see if it doesn't bring a tear to your eyes. Ladies & Gentlemen: "Hard Times Come Again No More."
