For what it's worth re: is it a young Madeleine...

And of course Petrou is listed on IMDb as her.

Is that confirmation right there? If so, we can put the rumors to rest about the little girl being Madeline’s child.

    7.3 million views on Youtube
    10 million views on Twitter
    2.5 million views on Facebook
    0.4 million views on Instagram

So across only the official 007 social media channels, thats 20.2 million views in a day.

Id say the trailer has hit the sweet spot with the general public big time.

There's a further 6.4 million views of the US trailer on the JamesBond007 YouTube channel.

    298k on Universal Studio’s Youtube
    2.2m on Kincheck Youtube
    728k on IGN’s Youtube

So we’re at 30.1 million already.

It is likely her. But IMDB is a bit like Wikipedia: info that is up on that site can sometimes be unreliable. I think the better piece of evidence is the young actresses's absence from any other filming/footage/stills. But what is also puzzling is that in neither the Norway shoot nor the trailer do we see anyone else. No parents, no other foot soldiers. Where was White?

I actually cannot wait to see how this all plays out!

I honestly don't get why adults would hide a previous marriage from each other. Would Bond really get angry for something this petty?

It's possible that Madeleine left the husband and child years ago, to protect them. She felt no need to tell James. And yes, he'd be pissed.

No, don't buy that at all. She would tell Bond she was once married and has a kid if that was the case, after all, she loves and trusts him. But after Bond is ambushed at Vesper's grave, he makes the assumption (as we see in the trailer) that Madeleine has betrayed him (after all Vesper betrayed him - and Bond still can't trust anyone - he's pretty damaged goods). Madeleine's secret is something much deeper and darker - something she has tried to bury and wipe from her life, just like she tried to escape from her father, Mr. White.
I was going to say nearly the same thing. I agree the betrayal was most likely with whatever happened at the gravesite and the dark secret is something else.

Well, she's holding something back from Bond, a very deep dark secret, but Bond's chink in his armour is that he cannot trust anyone, not even Madeleine, which stems so much from Vesper and also the fact he was an orphan, a child/young man effectively abandoned and forced to rely on himself and no one else. Craig plays this so bloody well. And I think Cary, knowing and respecting how well Craig implies Bond's damaged soul, decided to strongly focus on that in this film.

Absolutely right... it was clear from that first press release what Cary thought of CASINO ROYALE, and his admiration for what Craig brought to the role. A good director will focus on the strengths of the actors... and, well, that trailer seems to show this in spades.

Again: take IMDB with a grain of salt. They also have this listing:

    "stunt double: Leah Sedoux"

I can't take that stunt team list seriously with this sort of error in it. You know what I'm saying? LOL

Lea's adult stunt woman is named Jessica Hooker. She was on location in Matera. And Stuntcentral confirms that C. Petrou plays a young Madeleine aka the girl in coloured jacket at the lake.

Which means that Safin is not aging or have been cloned since he fights Bond in the present. Some scientific weird thing

I was thinking about this: my theory is that Madeleine was cloned - maybe several times - and Safin wants to kill or kidnap the Madeleines to use or improve the technology for his own personal gain.
That would fit Gary Fukunaga's words about Madeleine and Mr. White's past being something to mine.
That would fit why the new dangerous technology in Eon's synopsis is not revealed.
That would fit the line about Safin's skills surviving his body.

I wonder if we’ll see anything happen inside the cabin. Any chance of mr white returning?

And would also fit into Cary’s lack of fear to have a child die in his films.

    With Scorcese’s de-aging tech, that’d be cool.

I'm not sure how I feel about a potential cloning plot. AUF did it in 2001, but that was a bare bones story for a video game. I'm not saying it wouldn't be refreshing considering the storylines of the past 3 films not being super gripping in terms of megalomania. However, handled the right way, there's potential.
  • Does anyone actually think cloning is a suitable idea for Daniel's last film? The Craig era has provided itself on realism, terrorism, hacking, surveillance. I don't think cloning would have been a bad idea in a Brosnan film, but I think for where Bond is at the moment I don't really like the idea of cloning being a feature of this film's story.
  • Any high-res stills from the trailer? I can't find a gallery online......

    Have I got this right?

    - Bond/Swann in Matera is a continuation of Spectre end scene. Unknown end in Matera.
    - After music/titles, story starts 5 years after Spectre/Matera.
    - Paloma (Ana de Armas) is a CIA-agent
    - Nomi is a 00-agent (Lashana Lynch)

I would say the scene in Matera may be a couple of weeks/months after SP. It seems Bond does spend a bit of time with Madeleine before the car chase, in order to develop their relationship and Bond starts to trust her.

I think you're missing the point. It seems almost anyone with access to that IMDB page is putting that info in: if it is official, Lea's name isn't misspelled. Because names are misspelled or not capitalized, one has to wonder how reliable any of it is.

Ultimately, the info may be correct, but it isn't official right now and should not be presented as such.

I do hope the plot doesn’t involve cloning. Just seems too science fiction for a Craig-Bond film.

It depends how the execution is.

    I wouldn't mind it tbh.

    Two things:

When prod. was looking for someone to play the running girl in Norway it said something like "girl kills one man, then being chased by a second man". Who's the first man? Safin's thug pal? We haven't seen any of him as far as I can tell.

    //

In the trailer we see Bond and Swann (white t-shirt) briefly in bed at the hotel in Matera.

    >> the following scene after that should be the one with Swann coming out on the fake balcony (same t-shirt) and burning/dropping a piece of paper and then she turns around looking in at Bond. @slyfox filmed this seqeuence and I'm sitting on those clips.

I know we have discussed this before but what is the deal with burning paper and dropping it. Symbol for love? We've seen that ritual already when they stroll, kissing in the alleyway, and the old woman doing the same thing (behind-the-scene footage)

    Any thoughts?
