No time to die, but plenty of time to fall off a ladder!

That's taken in the Monkey Drink House. A tiny Matera coffee shop by day, a lively little bar at night, specialising in gin! Most the production team were there every night! Sometimes until 5am!!

I heard one spoiler below on my trip from a senior source. @00Agent was with me at the time too. It's part of a spoiler but it also raises lots of questions that I don't know the answers to yet. In the last week I've told three members on here who I know in person well but kept it from here until now as I'm now back from my travels so I thought it's time to list it for everyone. It's about the Madeleine Swann character. If you want to avoid it then just look away...
Swann will really "screw Bond over" in the film. Bond will put a lot of love and trust in her and confide in her and open up but she plays with his emotions.

    I DON'T know:

    - If she is bad/working for Spectre
    - Or if she is being blackmailed
    - Or if she just doesn't want to be with him and wants an escape

But either way, Bond is affected/betrayed by whatever happens.

That's all I know but I guess it's another case of this film really linking back in many ways to Casino Royale like they hinted. There will be lots of Casino Royale parallels to Vesper, trust, betrayal, as well as him joining/rejoining the service in this film.

Now that I'm back home I'll make sure the photos and videos are uploaded one way or another this week for you all to see.

Thanks. Swann character had some potential in SP but in the film there were already too many things to handle. I always felt she had much more to bring to the role. Regarding this bit of info,
I don't think they'll make her just a Vesper 2.0. Her being just "bad" sounds too much out of character given the events of SP.
yeah I'm certain there's more to her, especially as we know she plays a big role in the film anyway (eg interrogating Blofeld, the Norway stuff...)

Her connection to Spectre (and Malek's villain - they did say someone from the 'ensemble' had a personal connection) via her father is gonna be a massive deal here I'm sure

    In relation to that spoiler.....
I wonder if it will be set up later in the film that Bond thinks he might being betrayed again by Swann, causing all sorts of personal conflict, but it doesn't turn out that way. Being actually betrayed again by someone he loves would be a bit lame and repetitive in my opinion
  • Wow.....that is big.
Maybe we got it wrong with Ana De Armas being the femme fatale and it was Lea Seydoux after all.....I don't hate it.

But Madeleine was such a soulful and sympathetic character in SP. She seemed genuinely vulnerable and broken by the loss of her father. Her romantic connection to Bond was a little shaky, but that was a script failing. Otherwise, Seydoux's presence escalated SP.

Maybe Madeleine has some kind of connection to Rami Malek? Possibly a childhood friend? An ex-boyfriend? For some reason she has to betray Bond for Malek.................

Also, I'm kinda excited to see Seydoux play a villain. She was so good at being evil in The Lobster. She was devilishly fun in that movie.

She's a terrific actress regardless, so I'm happy to hear there will be more to her character than the 'death scene' we all initially though.

Just because she screwes over Bond at one point in the film doesn't mean she is a villain.

Very revealing footage. AM racing in and stops outside train station. Bond getting out, and takes out Swann from the car, grabs her almost and into the station building.

This is clearly part of the chase somehow.

I think Italy will be the prime location for 75% of the film. There will be important intermediate scenes in Norway, Jamaica, UK, but to me this feels like the early Connery-films. Especially FRWL/DN with a dash of CR. With that I mean Italy will be even more important than in all previous Craig-outings, plot-wise. The reason we see both the DB5 and V8 Vantage is probably because they will be two separate plot parts.

What I also love about how Cary films? He makes it look realistic and real, not like a 'car ballet' without spectators (Sam Mendes) or stupid talk about 'fire, water, ice, earth' being 'pivotal inspirational forces'. He puts the script center-stage and wants, like in True Detective, to make it feel realistic, with both as many spectators and as many ordinary cars blocking the way for Bond as possible. I just love his improvisational, hands-on style of filming.

    Makes me happy :-).

That’s a bit of a guess. For my money the DB5 is oversteering just a bit too much for an expert driver, but who knows how it’ll look in the final version.

Yep I’d like it to happen this way if true.

Agreed. There are multiple ways it could play out.

Well? I wonder if by this time tomorrow we will have finally seen the teaser trailer? Exciting times. Personally I think it will now come out on James Bond day? Only time will now tell?

Why are they using a fake town name?

Obviously because of some deal with the Basilicata region, where they shot most of the Italian scenes. Sapri is in Campania, that’s why.

I have something to chew on, from a source who was told by an inside source...

Lashana Lynch will be getting a ride in the Valhalla in Newtonmore, Inverness-shire, Scotland.

And this speaks to my fear of 3rd acts. I'm afraid they'll go ridiculously OTT, DAD-like (not on an Antonov, mind you) for that finale. The
female 007 on an hypercard kicking ass like a Brie Larson wannabe is not something I'm particularly interested in seeing. One Jinx in a Thunderbird was enough for me.
The problem with Bond films, as of late, are the 3rd acts, with the exception of SF (as I, for one, loved the battle of Skyfall).

Does this mean that she is filming or is she there for a press junket?

Set photos suggest it is Bond driving though...

Maybe she's the one who picks up Swann on the train... at this point her role in Italy should be a cameo at least.

I can't see how they can squeeze Slyfox's big plot theory into the movie. We already have, a kidnapped scientist, a young girl, a terrifying technology, Bond retired, a 'new' 007, the Scoobygang, Leiter, Ana de Armas, Billy Magnussen's CIA agent (remember him?), Blofeld, Jamaica, Norway, UK, and Italy, how on Earth are they going to squeeze in that sort of major plot line when they already have so much else going on?

Suspect several of those characters, locations and plot "bits" are pretty minor ones.

Or she arrived to film beach scenes in Sapri that are actually doubling not for Italy.
