Agreed! Casino too. I actually just revised my list... on a recent rewatch of Skyfall I decided to bump it way down, and lift up Quantum a few spots - Easily one of my favorites... underdog status and shaky cam and all. It’s fantastic.

Last night I dreamt that I saw BOND 25. I preferred it to SP, but only SP. Don't ask me for details, I remember nothing.

Hopefully it will rank higher than that when it drops for you. I’d settle for Top 17 gladly.

Indeed. Actually for my list I think I’d go up to 18. 19 and 20 are a bit mixed but still I’ve been having a good time with them lately (TMWTGG and MR). The only 4 I really struggle with these days are DAD, DAF, SP, and TWINE. Some days they’re better and some days worse.

Great top 3. But the lack of love for Dalton pains me! (And SP at 6, is the this the highest ranking of it?)

Spectre's average is in the middle. It's probably my bias (given what I just said) but I've seen it more in the lower half than upper.

It’s definitely refreshing to put all bias aside, @Thunderfinger. Great to see TMWTGG doing so well too.

LTK is at 15, which is pretty good. And I still love parts of TLD even if the film as a whole dropped for me this time.

A couple months back I tried a thread about how often our "favorite" Bond movies aren't actually always the ones we really want to watch, and in the spirit of that, I tried for the first time this year to rank the Bonds again, and try to be as honest as possible about it. Often one wants a film to be their favorite (or second or third or whatever) , but it just isn't.

    CAN WATCH AT ANY TIME
    1. Licence to Kill
    2. Spectre (+6)
    3. Quantum of Solace (+2)
    4. Octopussy (+3)
    5. For Your Eyes Only (+1)
    6. Live and Let Die (-2)
    7. The Living Daylights (-5)
    8. On Her Majesty’s Secret Service (-5)
    9. Moonraker (+4)
    10. Skyfall
    11. Dr No (-2)
    12. The Man with the Golden Gun
    13. Diamonds are Forever (+5)
    14. A View to a Kill (+3)

    GOOD OR GREAT, BUT MOOD-DEPENDENT
    15. Thunderball
    16. You Only Live Twice (+3)
    17. From Russia with Love (-3)
    18. Casino Royale (-7)
    19. The Spy Who Loved Me (+1)
    20. Goldfinger (-4)
    21. Die Another Day
    22. Tomorrow Never Dies

    NOT VERY GOOD AT ALL
    23. Goldeneye
    24. The World is Not Enough

Tim's my favorite Bond, so I think I always want TLD in the top five, but I'm pretty sure I like my new top six more. I've been increasingly apathetic about CR, but it never felt right to have it far out of the top ten. And hell, not having any Connery in the top ten is pretty sacrilegious. And Spectre...what can I say, I just love it more and more. Don't know what's wrong with me!

Some changes are due to rewatches as well. Diamonds are Forever was good fun last time.

That must be the only top 10 I’ve ever seen with no Connery films at all :))

Still though, kudos on the Dalton appreciation! He’s my favourite as well.

That's certainly the most unconventional list I've seen in a while. I like.

A View to a Kill is my top "film I like but isn't the one I want to watch". It sits quite low in my rankings for various reasons but I am fond of it. Whereas I often don't have that sentiment with other films in the lower half. I'm sure I'm not alone here but FRWL is my top quality film but won't sit at number one in my rankings - it's like a fine wine whereas Octopussy is my "top wine under $20"

Just for the record, I wasn't trying a different "style of ranking" . That's my ranking. I just made a major effort to ignore what I want my list to look like.

(Sorry, TLD, I still love you!)

I attempted to list the films that I can watch on any given day and still get the enjoyment I had that first time viewing it. I worked my way down from there. Sadly some of the great ones like the Craig CR ended up a lot lower than normal. I have to be in the mood for it.

I'm just going to leave this here because we are planning a Bondathon for this summer. I haven't seen several of these since we did a Bondathon in the cinema in 2012 over two weeks. But we have seen my top five a few times since then.

I'll reorganize it if necessary when we are done. And I have to admit that some of these rank higher than I remember because of their comic or sentimental value. And this is the "what I like" list not what films I think are better. Eg. Skyfall may be better than some above it, but I wasn't a fan. I'll be looking at it with fresh eyes this summer.

    1. ON HER MAJESTY'S SECRET SERVICE
    2. FROM RUSSIA WITH LOVE
    3. DR NO
    4. CASINO ROYALE 06
    5. THUNDERBALL
    6. GOLDFINGER
    7. QUANTUM OF SOLACE
    8. GOLDENEYE
    9. LIVE AND LET DIE
    10. THE MAN WITH THE GOLDEN GUN
    11. SPECTRE
    12. THE LIVING DAYLIGHTS
    13. SKYFALL
    14. OCTOPUSSY
    15. LICENCE TO KILL
    16. A VIEW TO A KILL
    17. YOU ONLY LIVE TWICE
    18. DIAMONDS ARE FOREVER
    19. FOR YOUR EYES ONLY
    20. THE SPY WHO LOVED ME
    21. MOONRAKER
    22. TOMORROW NEVER DIES
    23. THE WORLD IS NOT ENOUGH
    24. DIE ANOTHER DAY

You still carry that unhealthy love of SP with you.

I tried watching it again the other day.
Hate to say it, as soon as the screen goes black during the gunbarrel and we get that "Dead are Alive" caption, I wish I were watching a different Bond film.
DAD is very slowly inching it's way up from the bottom of the ladder.

The thing is, with DAD there's aspects to like, cringe at, dislike, hate. Spectre is disappointing, and aside from that I don't feel anything except checking the time to see when it will be over (doesn't help it's a long film)

Even though TWINE is my new least liked film, FYEO is still the big loser, dropping from my top five to no. 20. It was my first Bond film, so I think I have always had nostalgic glasses on before.

Ironically, my previous bottom dweller DAD was the film to rise the most, to a mid-teens position.

Sorry to hear that. I shouldn't like FYEO as much as I do but it's just inside the top 10 for me
