Movies that got only one see

With so little entertainment at the movies this winter we fall back on re watching some of our DVD collection. For those who does not go back to see a film or puchase the movie for your personal collection this does not apply to you. That being said, I want to hear you list of films that we just never get around to giving a second peek.
I'm not just talking about films that were so bad you cannot watch but some good films that we never saw again.

1. The Exorcist I saw this horror classic in the theaters and just never wanted to see it again. I had friends who ran to see this in the theaters durign the 20 year anniversary in 1993.
2. The Empire Strikes Back reputted to be the best of the original Star Wars trilogy, I have not seen it since that faithful summer day in 1980. I have seen Star Wars and Return of the Jedi several times but Empire, I never got back to.
3. Alien I own the sequel "Aliens" in my video library and enjoy rewatching this romp, but as for the original: Naw....
4. Moonraker hated this film and refuse to ever watch it again.
5.The Ring this scared the bejesus out of me. Nuff said.

Love to see your lists

Just tried to watch Die Hard V. I guess I'll never watch it again. I have the other four movies in my video library, but, that one? Nope. I guess it will never be...

And there's that one I saw in the theratre: Dino Rex. Never more. The same goes for Asterix & Obelix Vs The Caesar, with that guy who played Gen. Ourumov on GE as Julius Caesar.

About TV shows, there are two: Evangelion, the series. The new movies (1.11, 2.22 and 3.33) are great, but i just can't stand the old anime version. What a mindfuck! (And I hate Asuka Langley with a passion, too). And In The Night Garden... That BABY'S show is unsettling, to say the least.

The Lawnmower Man: Enough early 90's CGI to give you nightmares.
Man of Steel: Worst Superman adaptation ever. Doesn't deserve to be watched again.
Battleship: Worst movie I have ever seen.

    That's about it currently.

I'm right with you there. Made me laugh out loud in the theatre, actually.

You need to see it again, dude. Yeah, it's emotionally painful, but a rewarding connection between your two loved SW flicks...

For me- The Dark Knight. Just hated it. And I liked Batman Begins.

Dark Knight Rises & Man Of Steel won't even get that 'one see' out of me, sadly.

I'd watch Dark Knight rises. IMO it's way better than Dark Knight. It also has that fantasy element Batman Begins had. It'd also watch it for Bane. His voice is so fun to imitate while watching the movie. As for Man of Steel, your not missing anything, don't be sad that you won't be watching it.

The Texas Chainsaw Massacre (both 1974 and 2003)- never again, thank you very much.

Oh boy, the list could be looonnngggg...

    For starters:

    Dune; utterly boring
The passion of the Christ: I'm not a fan of non-ending whipping
Star Trek: The motion picture: I'm amaze people got out to see The wrath of Khan
The men of steel: sorry, can't feel anything for the Big Kryptonian
Star Wars The phantom menace: it was the first and last Star Wars movie I'll ever see.
RRRrrrr: A french comedy which will make you cry with boredom

I'll conclude with a Daniel Craig movie, I don't remember the title, in which he plays a drug-addict actor.

I don't know if I'd say that it's way better than The Dark Knight but I agree with you that I prefer Rises. @chrisisall, you should at least give it a chance.

Since I saw the first two, I suppose I'll have to get around to the third. Netflix?
But Man Of Steel seems even more of a waste of time than Superman Returns was...

I haven't even seen Man Of Steel because all of the negative things that I've heard about it. I usually don't let public opinion sway me like that. I suppose it's on my I'll get around to it eventually list.

I'd have preferred a sequel to Superman Returns personally. Man Of Steel also, didn't do it for me.
  • I'm a little surprised at all the Man of Steel hate I'm seeing lately (not just here)

I really liked it. Superman Returns had potential, but took a wrong turn with that damn kid of his. As Dalton would say, looks like he came to a dead end!

I can in NO way deny that. No wonder I don't own it.

I think people dislike it so much because Snyder decided to turn the last hour into a Michael Bay movie.
  • My list:

Deathproof- pretty tedious to sit through. It's on my shelf because it's the steelbook and it looks good next to Planet Terror, but I only ever watch it now for the last half hour or so.

Live Free or Die Hard ( I hate that title. It's freaking Die Hard IV, damnit)- I had the trilogy so I got that to go with it, despite thinking it was forgettable in the theater. Still haven't seen V

Wanted- actually I don't even remember finishing that

I'm sure there are more- I 'll have to give it some thought

See in a way I looked at that as a positive- it was like the director was directly addressing one of the biggest complaints about Superman Returns: too freaking boring.

lol I was 19 when that movie came out and I hung out with a 'different' crowd back then. Me and a group of friends saw that movie opening night in a full house- one of us snuck in an entire bottle of vodka. We saw that movie in a different light from everyone else =))
But yeah I remember The Ring was the universal go-to scary movie back then! Too bad they dropped the ball with part 2.

Star Wars The phantom menace: it was the first and last Star Wars movie I'll ever see.
WOW you sure picked the wrong one. Do yourself a favor and give A New Hope a chance!! I'm confident you'll like it

But that doesn't justify letting the Director satisfy his own lust by turning the movie into a CGI porno.

In fact, the longer the climax goes on for, the more boring it gets. Lots of explosions and loud noises doesn't automatically equal excitement.

American Gangster - liked it in the cinema in 2007. Brought the DVD but haven't yet seen it again.

2012 - couldn't stand it in the cinema and have deliberately avoided it ever since.

    The Happening - ditto

Fargo - excellent Cohen Brothers thriller. Brought it on VHS a few years ago and have only seen it once.

Ben Hur - brought the DVD. Certainly an epic to get through. Good movie though.

@Master_Dahark I'd give Die Hard 4 a second chance. I recently did a Die Hard Marathon and It was a lot more enjoyable than my first viewing. But it was justified because I started with Die Hard 5 as It's the only one I haven't seen yet so. Watching 4 after 5 gave me a new respect for it. I like it better than Die Hard With a Vengeance to be honest.

    My DH Rank.

    Die Hard.
    Die Hard 2.
    Live Free or Die Hard.
    Die Hard With a Vengeance.
A Good Day To Die Hard.

Yes! I caught on DVD one time, terrible film. Still, at least it's got Woody Harrelson in it.

One thing I abhor is sexal violence, so when watching the remake of The Hills Have Eyes (2006)...
  • Batman 1989 - that's about as far as the interest ever went. Went along at the time of theater release but never watched again, anything from the series

Alien 1979 - I don't like this one much, but that's not to say it's a bad film. Second one is better though, that is a worthwhile watch

Rosemarys Baby 1968 - some significant hype at the time of release, but one watch seemed sufficient

Creep 2004 - something nefarious stalks the London subway after dark in this low-budget 'thriller' that was an interesting watch, but more than once would seem unnecessary

The Final 2009 - Some would argue, The ultimate vengeance movie for bullied kids everywhere, but quickly becomes mundane (and in need of strong stomachs). One watch was enough

Videodrome 1982 - James Woods and lead singer of Blondie Deborah Harry star in another low-budget quickly forgotten sci-fi (mess) that most viewers will discover - one watch will be enough

I strongly suggest at least checking it out again (since it's been that long) and Batman Returns- the latter being my never-miss Christmas time movie

Well surely Man Of Steel is better then Superman:Returns. The latter is a poor excuse of a movie, it is pure crap.
  • I forgot George Clooney's Batman. If one picture ever insulted me, it's the one.
That movie (1997) must have hasten the death of Bob Kane (1998).
Like Stan Lee would say: 'nuff said.

Yes the Clooney Batman outing was appalling. I remember looking forward to it greatly as an 18yr old and being immensely disappointed.

"Black Swan" gets my vote for most overrated crap of recent times. Utterly appalling.

You see I like Mr Freeze...but maybe that's not the film to watch? Batman aficionados (not me) say that the animated series is much better for staying true to the source.

Actually The animated series re-invented the Mister Freeze character and gave him a new backstory. B&R ripped it off and failed.

Oh! Told you I wasn't an expert though I have been buying up some Batman stuff of late. I like the early Batman of 30s and 40s when he was basically a detective with a gun.

Yes I think mister freeze was created for the Adam West Batman series and went off radar after.
