    Started a bondathon in January for the new one. Started with Casino Royale '54 version. Dr no and from russia with love. Haven't gotten around to watching goldfinger yet.

    Just over 7 months away from Skyfall: now is the time. I just kicked things off with Casino Royale and I think I'll work backwards and see how that works (excluding QOS, which I think I'll do last)

    Can you guys please help me. When I get my bond 50 blu rays me and the mrs ( I say mrs she's actually my girlfriend of about a year and a bit) plan on participating in said bondathon. The trouble is I'm unsure on what order to watch the films in. Do we watch them from dr no - quantum? Vice versa or just in totally random order . I've seen all the films so it dosent really matter to me but my girlfriend hasnt and I've allready tried explaining casino royale is the start of bond but she's so easily confused and up until the other day she thought all the 6 bond actors were playing different characters and just happened to be called James bond as a type of code name :(

    Watch them in order. It's the easiest, most logical and best way to go.

    It's best to just go in order I think. It's easy to see how the series evolves andhow the different decades change the priorities that way.

    I did the same thing with my Mrs. We actually started with Goldfinger because it was playing in the cinema. She really liked it and was a good introduction; lots of fun, lots of laughs. It's also the most famous and iconic. Casino Royale also seems to be a good 'first Bond' because its the current Bond and a favorite among many.

    Watching them in order is always your best best, but DN might be a little dry for a first timer.

    But I will say it's good to do the Spectre films in order: DN-FRWL-TB-YOLT for sure.
    Also make sure you watch FYEO after OHMSS so that Tracy's death isn't revealed.

    What a great idea!

    I'm up for it. Though I know one of my local theatres will be screening some Bond films later in the spring for the 50th anniversary, so I'm going to wait and see what's on the schedule.

    **Anyone living in the Los Angeles area, Cinematheque has listed the 50th anniversary as an upcoming screening event this spring. Most likely expect some cast and crew in attendance. Stay tuned. I will for sure be there.

    I'm going to be putting together a little Bondathon with all of my co-workers the week leading up to Skyfall. I was thinking about doing one movie every day for 5 days, and right now I'm trying to figure out which movies to choose for it. They will all be Blu-rays too, so I can't go wrong with the picture quality of any of them and they will all by shown on a massive screen with a projector.

    I need to pick movies that both Bond fans and people new to Bond would equally enjoy and I'm trying to pick one movie from every actor, excluding Lazenby because I feel OHMSS' pacing would be too slow for some people and they would lose interest too quickly, not because there's anything wrong with that movie. Here's what I have so far:

    Sean Connery: Goldfinger, Thunderball or You Only Live Twice

    Roger Moore: The Spy Who Loved Me (locked in due to high demand for it)

    Timothy Dalton: The Living Daylights or License To Kill

    Pierce Brosnan: Goldeneye (locked in due to high demand for it)

    Daniel Craig: Casino Royale

    So basically I just need to figure out which Connery movie and Dalton movie to play, plus I might throw in an extra wild-card movie too, making it 6 movies, so let me know what you think I should do and what combination would be enjoyed by anyone, Bond fan or not.

    I will be starting my Bondathon on October 18th - 22 days before the opening of Skyfall here in the US. I will be watching a movie each night. I might just throw in CR54, CR67 and NSNA as well, but it all depends on time.

    Bimey, @Artemis81, one every night? That's quite the undertaking!

    I started a Bondathon earlier this month in the run up to SF's release and the 50th anniversary. It's a chronological one that'll take in CR '67 and NSNA too. Going well so far, just got past CR '67 - thank goodness. ;)

    I'm also reviewing every one of the films as soon as I've viewed them - I'm posting them both in this forum's 'Reviews' section and on my blog... :)

    I've started one leading up to SF. Watched FYEO tonight. So far TSWLM is my favourite, TB a close second. This will probably change once I reach the Dalton films though ;)

    I'm gonna do a double bill next, OP and NSNA.

    I'll be doing the DN-QOS marathon soon (in order, and including NSNA). For those of us living in Australia, SF hits screens around November 22nd- so that's roughly one per night if I start watching them come November (no doubt I'll watch a few at random before this). Can't wait! Until then, I'm investing in a pallet of homemade popcorn. :D

    #3 and #4 are subject to switch spots soon, I'm debating whether or not to swap them, because I have a feeling that DAF really was better than TB. Might not happen, but it's a possibility. All others are locked in though!

    Currently, I am reading all the Fleming Books again. I will be in Greece on the beach next week, so I hope to get through them faster. There is a reason why: when I come home, my Bond 50 blue ray box should arrive soon. And then, I "force" my gf (who only knows the Craig films) to watch all the movies from Dr.No till Quantum and of course, ending it with Skyfall in the cinema.
    It's not too much time till Skyfall, so the schedule will be pretty tough.

    As for my ranking, it will be veeery interesting because I haven't watched a Bond movies for years! (except of course the new ones) And I mean years. I haven't watched many of the films for 5,6 maybe 7 years!

    My last ranking was lost with the old forum but I'll have a look if I can find it on my computer somewhere.
    I am excited to see if there are some major changes.

    I'm actually up to see the rest of the films that i'm missing to see. I'm a noob on this forum and in JB era, i really need to watch out for the other films if i'd want to continue here.

    I've recently watched LALD and TMWTGG. Already seen FRWL and TSWLM some time ago.

    I'm almost done with mine. Started at Dr. No and I'm up to TWINE. Trying to watch them as quick as possible. I started about a month ago. I was planning on playing the video games - EON and BS, to give Brosnan and Craig on more 'movie' each - and reading the books while I was doing it, but it didn't shake out that way. Maybe next go around.

    It's been a while since I've seen it, but I have seen it before. I remember it being bad, but it can't be any worse than MR. We'll see though.

    I started with "light bondathon", one movie every Saturday few weeks ago. I just finished OHMSS. Still my fave, but god I forgot how bad the editing in OHMSS was. But the score for the movie is one of the best in the entire Bond franchise. I really like Savalas as Blofeld. Next week DAF. I'm one of the few that enjoys this movie for what it is- lighthearted action, and I'm looking forward to it.

    Does this count as an extended Bondathon? I've been watching one a week in order of their release for the series of reviews I've been doing over in the "For Original Fans" thread -- and finally finished with Skyfall, posted earlier this evening. My favorite? Hard to say, but I can easily list a favorite for each Bond...FRWL is my favorite Connery entry and CR is my favorite from Craig. But hey! Skyfall is awfully darned good too, and as the one I've seen most recently my feelings here are probably at their strongest. Just to give the rest their due, I'm partial to FYEO from Moore, TLD from Dalton, and GE from Brosnan. The Lazenator only has one entry so my choice here is an easy one, and for the record, OHMSS is certainly a Top 10 entry in my book!

    I recently played through the From Russia with Love game, and after I finished did a Bondathon of Dr. No, From Russia with Love, Goldfinger, Thunderball, You Only Live Twice, On Her Majesty's Secret Service, Diamonds are Forever, and Never Say Never Again.
