They should use Mr. Kiss Kiss Bang Bang. Or an instrumental in the style of OHMSS (with David Arnold as the Composer).

I'm not even going to bother it will be the flavour of the year currently being touted by the tabloids around the time of announcement, EON used to make decisions themselves and not be swayed by popular opinion and artists that were suited to this.

I can buy Adele but Smith was totally inappropriate and that trend is likely to continue.

I don't think it's unrealistic to see the likes of Ed Sheeran getting the call, the films might improve and get me back on point but I've given up on the themes being any good, just got to hope the composers chosen improve.

Personally I liked Smith but I guess he's not for everyone. However, are you saying you didn't like Chris Cornell? If so, that would be the first I've heard of it from anyone.

Cornell was the best song of the era and sue me like the Jack White tune but I'm a fan and Adele works fine over the credits but doesn't really work outside of the credits but the choice of Smith shows how much they were influenced by the tabloids.

The Smith song was the worst song of the series for me, it's dreadful.

I actually don't mind the Jack White song but I also enjoy the Sam Smith one too.

Madonna, Jack White and Sam Smith have provided the series with three of the worst Bond songs. I want something that screams Bond when sung. Adele managed that and I was constantly reminded of the old Shirley Bassey songs with her entry.

Although the Adele song without the titles is a non entity unlike the Barry classics & LALD & Nobody Does it Better that can live separate to the film.

Jack White in all fairness had to come up with that tune in a small amount of time due to Amy Winehouse and Mark Ronson dropping out, Madonna & Smith you'll get no arguments from me.

I'd put TND & TWINE before ATWTD in the worst category personally.

You Know My Name is the only approaching classic of the DC era.

TND and TWINE both had stellar songs. Especially TWINE.

And Jack White's song rarely had a melody. It was akin to a rap song with a rock band trying t voice-out the lyrics.

That is your opinion while ATWTD is not great, I found TND laughable (I'm in a puddle on the floor) and TWINE dreary.

AWTD at least begins the credits with a bang.

Anyway nothing in the Craig era matches up to the classics and it doesn't seem EON is that bothered trying to when they pick artists like Sam Smith to do the theme.

I could post a number of bands and acts that should do the theme but why bother EON will pick the next theme from the flavour of the moment who the tabloids are touting and the general public.

They didn't use to go after big artists for the sake of making it to the top of the charts but that changed with Adele and the reason why Sam Smith's warbling's accompanied the Daniel Craig octopus porn titles on SPECTRE.

There is no way they would do that. They are going to go for potential hit songs from now on, especially after Adele. I'd love to see either Michael Buble or this rather unknown band do one though.

It sounds like a kind of sci-fi Bond theme already

Not familiar enough with your other choices, but for these three, sure. Much better than some of what we've seen in the past.

Lana Del Rey already did a song that was rejected for Spectre. It's called "Twenty Four Hours". And it's scary as hell. Haunting.

It wasn't written for Spectre, it wasn't put forward so wasn't rejected. She's stated that if asked she would do a Bond theme. And that, yes, a couple of songs on her last album had a bit of a Bond 'feel' to them.

  • "24" does have a rather Bondish flavor—right down to the horns—even if it wasn't written for Spectre.

Sam Smith as Adele have given us instant classics. WOTW stayed in the Swiss charts for some 70 weeks.
It is almost daily/weekly played at the main radiio stations.
Same for Skyfall, GoldenEye, The Living Daylights, A View To A Kill, For Your Eyes Only, Nobody Does It Better, Live And Let Die.

The rest is forgotten, not counting classic 60s.

I don't care if EON chooses freaking Ed Sheeran or Rhianna for the next song as long as the song is as good as those mentioned above.

I am a huge fan of Jack White AND Alicia Keys but the song is a disgrace for the series and I am still angry Jack White has thrown away a potential masterpiece. The instrumental is fantastic really. But for Bond just bloody wrong.

I'd love Nina Persson and David Arnold collaborate on a Bond theme song.

Wayyyy better than Sam Smith's song, it's criminal she hasn't done a Bond theme. Her voice in 24 is pure Bond. I liked Sam Smith's effort but wow this blows it out of the park.
