    I'm an American as well so I will have to wait for my screening in New York.

    I can only assume that the US gets a much later release date for Bond films in retribution for a little revolution we started a few centuries ago!

    The thing is, Mendes was quoted as saying the audience shouldn't know more than Bond.

    Which in my opinion is absolutely absurd when you look at From Russia With Love. In fact that's the most effective way to develop a character-building moment for Bond, show him learn something the audience already new. A slight twist.

    It's storytelling, whichever way you need to tell your story should be fine. Of course there are proper ways to go about doing it, some without the main character, some through the main character.

    I won't be able to follow the premiere live stream tomorrow :-w The same work commitment that caused me to quit my plan of paying a short visit to the UK to watch the film there is keeping me busy all day. Well, as someone would say, business before pleasure. Besides, I'm sure the recording will be available shortly after :D

    Isn't this lovely? Dutch kids get the chance of asking the stars of "SPECTRE" questions about the new James Bond film. The interview is part of the "NOS Jeugdjournaal" (which is the children's version of the TV News from state broadcaster NOS. The interview was done by Lucas, presenter of the "Zapp Weekjournaal".

    The videos in the link are entirely English, with Dutch subtitles :-). Especially Christoph Waltz is so cute when he talks to a children's audience:

    @Gustav_Graves, thank you for all of your hard work compiling the reviews and all of the other info you find for everyone on this site. You are finding all kinds of great stuff to post. I enjoyed these kids in their tux suits. They do a better job than some experienced press types, and they are infinitely cuter. I also think his response to THE question about doing Bond 25 was the truth.

    Combine the facts that it is the big Bond premier for SP and that it has the 3 royals that always draw the most avid press coverage, and you have one big massive press event. All good for SP promotion.

    I believe this was the original Skyfall premiere livestream, all 2.5 hours of it!

    Thanks, I was thinking of posting that one too, but it's so longgg :-P. I watched every inch of it back in 2012 though :-P. Don't you think Jany Temime looks like Shirley Bassey's sister :-P?

    At 1hour 25min there's this actress I don't know....with his boyfriend. Or he is actually the actor. Man, it seems he's so horny by the looks of his girl....he immediately wants to shag her LOL :-P.

    I'm now going to rewatch it hehe. Back in 2012 I lovedddd to spot all the ex-Bond-celebrities.

    FRWL is different, it's built around trapping Bond and the whole gambit relies on him, so you need to know that SPECTRE are making that gambit because it'd be limp in retrospect.

    What Mendes is talking about is Thunderball or Tomorrow Never Dies where the entirety of the villain's gambit, and where they've hidden something or how they've done something is completely unveiled to us as the audience and then we have to watch Bond put together the pieces we're already in possession of, and then there's no mystery as to how he'll react. So in FRWL it's about how does he break the trap and that's the exciting element - with those other two examples it just plods right along until Bond catches up - by then we're in the throes of the third act and who the hell cares.

    re: FRWL: The audience knows more than Bond does, but it doesn't know *everything*. There are *teases* (the audiences sees Klebb and the crew filming behind the double mirror) but the audience doesn't know it all until Grant explains it.

    Still, it's a perfectly legitimate story telling technique for the audience to know more than the lead character. A non-Bond example is Marathon Man. The audience doesn't know everything but it knows more than Dustin Hoffman's character does.

    Well, today is the day for all UK mi6'ers! Have a good time!

    The guy on the radio just said that it's a fantastic film but that he wasn't sure if the story line was quite as clear as Skyfall. He said that every thing else was great though.
