    Too little too late.

At this point it would make more sense to do a new Superman, especially now that we’ve got a new Batman. I’ll be curious how they’ll portray Cavill Superman. His best performance was from the Whedon footage where he’s more aligned with his jovial traditional self.

I'm personally over everything to do with the Snyderverse so any attempt to continue it makes me roll my eyes. WB need to learn that they need go forwards, not backwards.

He's good enough casting in the part that it's worth continuing, I feel. I'm looking forward to it - if it actually happens.

As someone who doesn't care for Man of Steel, I'm willing to wait and see what they come up with before writing it off. My hopes are low, but we could really use a solid new Superman movie. And though MOS's tone and style weren't for me, Cavill's casting was never in doubt or the issue.
  • About time! It's been nearly 10 years since Man of Steel and 6 since Superman's last appearance. Looking forward to the return of Cavill to the DCEU. It'll be interesting since this will be the first time he isn't directed in the part by Snyder.

Hopefully it will have a comic book villain we haven’t seen before. Superman has A LOT of those. Also, it seems Michael Shannon’s Zod is the main villain of The Flash.

Lex and Zod need to be retired as main antagonists. I would have Lex on the sidelines like in TAS, but Snyder already made him a well known criminal to the world at the end of BvS, so that won’t work. I don’t even like how he’s been handled at all, which is another reason I’d call for a reboot.

100% agreed. This issue has gotten so bad that I wrote my own Superman/Supergirl story with multiple villains that haven’t been done on screen yet.

This reminds me of the Sony leak that revealed the Sony boss firing Andrew Garfield because he decided not to show up at a gala event because he felt too sick. Hollywood can be an extremely petty town.

Many are speculating Jason is alluding to Justice League 2
  • Hey, that sounds promising. I don't know if it'll be Justice League 2 necessarily, but it sounds like there's probably some big multi-hero storyline in the works.

Will they bring the main cast back, I wonder. I, for one, am not yet ready to let Cavill, Affleck, Gadot, Momoa, Fischer, Miller, Irons, Adams, ... go. Seriously, this is a very good cast!

I do really like this cast myself. I was stoked to hear about Cavill's return, I eagerly await Momoa in Aquaman 2 and Gadot in WW3 whenever that happens, and I sincerely hope Affleck and Irons are not yet done as Bruce and Alfred. With the changes in leadership, you'd think there'd be a chance Fischer might return, but (without intention of derailing this thread into unrelated territory) you think Miller can restore their public image for future films beyond Flash?

Miller would not be the first actor to seemingly ruin his career over bad behavior and then come back when the storm has quieted down. His talents are what matters. I have liked him as an actor since day 1 of his career; The Perks Of Being A Wallflower and We Need To Talk About Kevin made me a fan. I like his portrayal of the Flash very much so I hope he will be back for more DC product too.

Just saw Black Adam last night. It was ok. PB is a highlight. I think DC movies are in some safer hands, with new management in charge. Actually I trust Dwayne Johnson as he often listens to fans, something I think DC needs to do a bit more honestly. At least when it comes to Superman.

I like Muschietti. I like Snyder's visual prowess as well, but maybe Snyder might have done all he wanted to do for DC.

Snyder wanted to go a lot farther, actually. He wanted to do a New Gods two- or three-parter. In another universe, I guess.

Honestly outside of Reeves' Batverse, I'm not too interested in any other projects in DC, although I did enjoy James Gunn's The Suicide Squad.

Right? That really sounds gargantuan. But just happy that Batfleck would be back. It all looked like Batfleck won't do more movies, but with Aquaman 2 on the horizon, he's slowly joining the great pantheon of Batmen.

Just accidentally stumbled upon an episode of Supergirl on TV. Got bored almost immediately. Melodramatic. Really poorly acted. And -- this is my biggest issue with a lot of TV series -- just talking and talking; the scene just wouldn't take off. I finally flipped the channel. Apparently, this show is well-loved. I won't watch it. I suffered through one season of Gotham and then gave up too. Give me comics, films, animated series and films, and video games. But DC's live-action TV stuff always feels amateurish and insufferably tedious. Flash, Arrow, Batwoman, Gotham, Supergirl, ... The answer is a big no! If I want to watch people talk for hours on end, I'll attend business meetings insteads.

One DC show I do enjoy a lot, despite its shaky start, is Titans.

Haven't seen Titans. I probably won't even try. I'll just stick to rewatching the animated shows, as those are clearly where the strength of WB/DC lies.

Doom Patrol is a pretty good show, perhaps the best of their Live Action TV Show Lineup.

I really liked SMALLVILLE in its first few seasons, when it was more about Clark dealing with adolescence with superpowers. I stopped watching it midway through its original run when tried to be more like a DC show where so many DC heroes pop up, except Clark is never Superman because it was in Tom Welling’s contract that he would never wear the suit.

Funny that it’s only once that show ends that WB then starts to dive all in on DC hero shows. I haven’t seen any of them, but I do like the casting from what I’ve seen. The girl playing Supergirl seems perfectly cast, but I imagine it is what DarthDimi says: Very talky, because it’s a TV show on a network budget. That’s why SMALLVILLE worked for me because that was more about character dynamics and morality tales, with a few super-heroics added in.

One detail I loved was that because Clark was still young he didn’t fully develop his powers. So when he gets shot by bullets for the first time they leave bruises, so he’s not totally indestructible.

I would like to see Clayface make a live-action film appearance. It’s about time. Also, one of the ways that Superman can move forward in cinematic works is to have him face new villains. At this point, more than one villain in a movie could really help him.

Exactly, that's what it is. And melodramatic. I know it's pointless to draw conclusions from one scene. But the one scene I saw was torture. Cheap melodrama, words and more words, and absolutely nothing to move the story forward. I sat perplexed by how much was said, while so little was said.

Clayface is an interesting character for sure. "Growing Pains" is a strong episode in TAS.

I'm still waiting for more Swamp Thing. I won't lie: I love the character as written by Len Wein and Alan Moore. Never mind Wes Craven's film, Swamp Thing has great potential in my opinion.
