Yes, one badass scene, I didn't realize how many people liked Dalton until getting into this blog. I liked him as well [he was a bit stiff], but still like our new Bond; Craig. Some of the stars didn't have as good of stories as they could have pulled off. Brosnan being one of them as well as Dalton. Cannot wait to see the new movie.

    That trailer was incredible!

But I think the magic and what makes it amazing is the talent of the person who made it. Dalton was a very good Bond and had he done a few more he would have been a real champ but with the way things turned out I'm going to say Craig is better...for now.
  • To me, Craig is not Bond, and I think he will never be... Casino Royale is the worst Bond ever; Quantum of Solace is much better, more "bondian"; let's hope Skyfall will be even better! Craig would have been a tremendous bad guy, such as a terrific new Blofeld of some kind.
Dalton was very close to Ian Fleming's original character, the closest in fact. It's a pity he could not make more Bond films!
Which does not make Dalton the best Bond; Roger Moore was...

    Agreed.

Craig, Dalton and Lazenby are my favourite Bonds. So, yeah. Take that as you will.

I think Dalton's problems were his movies. The transition from AVTAK to TLD was a strange one, and you can see that in the awkward jokes and pacing issues (although, there aren't many). The team really found Dalton's Bond in LTK, but I think people get turned off by that movie because of the villain and setting. LTK was a lot more American than most of the other movies, so that turns people off.

You know that the world has gone mad when Craig beats Dalton in a poll.

Its Easter and so on, but your way of throwing him into our faces gets tiring. I don't see anybody else, not even DC, who is that insisting in not tolerating any other opinion. So - whether this is in earnest or not, please restrain from this atttitude. Its childish and just plein annoying. Thanks and happy Easter.

BTW - comparing how different both actors were received by the public, it seems, that 3/4 of Dalton lovers are gathered here - so be contend with the result.

It's just a bit of fun. There have been people who throw Craig into our faces on other threads. Still, happy Easter.

Yeah, I like Craig too but I like Dalton better, he's my favourite Bond. He was a little bit stiff but I don't think he was as stiff as other people say. And I didn't think Dalton was that popular either until I came on here, but there are actually alot of people who like Dalton's Bond.

Excuse me, but I am starting miss the fun factor. I would even start complaining, if it was Craig, whom you handled like that. There is fun and there is fun...

Maybe I've gone a bit OTT with it but this is a Craig vs Dalton thread. And I do tolerate other opinions, I get that you think Craig is better, just like I get that 007RogerMoore and DC think Moore is better. I just think Dalton is better. I'll stop now, but like I said, people have thrown Craig into my face on other threads.

I knew this thread would be heated when I set it up :))

I've changed my opinion about it once already

My favourite is when Bond kills Sanchez, but that scene is great too.

I don´t think that you go far when you say that Dalton is the best everywhere. In fact, it´s quite funny. I do the same, and it´s all with the glint in the eye, while at the same time being a true opinion. If you love Dalton, for all means, preach it.

Its as if the fans here try to make up for the lack of love he got from the majority of Bond fans. I can understand that in a way, but its not gonna change his poor overall reception...

TLD and LTK have a 73% and a 71% rating on rotten tomatoes. I wouldn't say that's a poor reception. Dalton actually has gotten alot of praise over the years.

I don't think really, we need to discuss again that he wasn't a hit. But good for him, that some people appreciate him.

I thought saying "Craig is sh*t, Dalton rules!" and then some other saying "Nah, Craig rules, Dalton is a wimp", was fun. No harm there, considering most Craig fans are Dalton fans and vice versa.

Technically, both numbers equal 10 and I can prove it. ;-)

But I suppose this is neither the place nor the time for math lessons... ;-)

Agreed. I'm what you might call a true Daltonite but I'm a huge Craig fan as well. IMO, CR was a masterpiece, the first great Bond film since '95. And while I don't think Craig is responsible for that all by himself, his presence and acting add a great deal to the film's quality.

People do appreciate him, and he might not have been a huge hit but he definetly deserved to be one.

As much as I like Daniel Craig, I have to give the edge to Dalton. They're close, but I just see Dalton being a bit more in line with Fleming's Bond than I do with Craig. Both are fantastic, though, and perhaps with another film or two I could see Craig claiming the top spot.
