    In SPECTRE
    Oberhauser reveals to have created SPECTRE only to ruin Bond's life and that he was the author of all Bond's pain. But how could he predict that Bond would face LeChiffre, Mr. White, Silva and lose Vesper, Mathis and M?
    Also, why wasn't Mathis mentioned at all, in the movie?

    @Walecs,
    He said that every time Bond interfered with his plans, he took someone from his life: M, Vesper, etc. As for the lack of Mathis, I honestly feel like they wanted no connections with this and QoS aside from mentioning QUANTUM one time and introducing Mr. White for the third and final time. If you notice in the scenes with Q's laptop or when Bond is going through the old MI-6 ruins, we see pictures of everyone but Mathis and Greene, the latter obviously being a part of SPECTRE to some degree. Was surprised they neglected to show him.

    Yeah, a friend of mine and I noticed all the time that EON seems to repudiate QoS, which is really a shame. It's not like acknowledging QoS would make SPECTRE worse.

    @Walecs, you're quite welcome!
    I initially thought that I didn't look at Q's laptop in time and I simply missed seeing Greene, but when he was going through the MI-6 rubble and saw all the hung up pictures that lacked QoS characters entirely, I was a bit disappointed, because it seemed like they were so disgusted in QoS that they wanted the least amount of mentions in SP as possible, but at the same time, they brought back Mr. White, the idea of QUANTUM, and like I said, it's obvious that Greene was a key member of the group to a degree and most certainly should've been included.

    Well...
    It's especially odd that Greene didn't get a picture in the MI6 building considering Greene was still name-dropped AND appeared on Q's computer earlier. Maybe even an oversight? Or maybe Blofeld thought he didn't personally affect Bond as much? As for Mathis, I really have no clue. Very surprised by his complete omission.

    True.........notice in the photo gallery near the end of the film, there was no picture of Dominic Greene on the wall.......but here were photos of LeChiffre and Silva.

    Yes ive noticed EON hardly ever mention QOS in their interviews about the Craig era, but it was their fault, ie the producers decisions on the film that led to it being a dismal entry in the franchise!

    @FoxRox,
    So Greene WAS on Q's computer earlier? I was studying the faces and as soon as I went to look at the last one, the camera angle cut and I didn't see it. I only assumed he didn't appear on the computer in this scene since he wasn't pictured later on. Who knows.

    Yup he sure was. Next time you watch, if I'm not mistaken, his picture appears on the far right. So they didn't forget about him - and Blofeld mentioned him too of course. And Quantum itself was named like 3 times. I guess we're supposed to assume post-QoS that Quantum was dismantled basically.

    Huh..I totally forgot about Greene..he should have had a picture in those cells

    Remember Eon wanted to erase Quantum from the casual cinema goer's memory

    I meant where is MI6 now that it's a pile of rubble. The Old War Office Building again?

    There was the merging with MI-5, and I'm sure they will move in to the previous location after it's rebuilt, though who knows when that'll make a return in the movies (I'm assuming the next one), as they referenced that it was cheaper to knock down and build again than it was to renovate and fix up (which made no sense to me).

    Bond lying to the female badies ?

    There are two films which make me think how Bond lied to the bad girl first when Bond in thunderball tells Fiona that he didn't feel nay pleasure by sleeping with her and he did it just for queen and Country and in The world is not enough when Bond is being tortured by elektra or maybe a little latter she tells him that she knows he loves her and he said you meant nothing to me.

    Do you think he lied because his ego was hurt or iT was sort of true. Maybe Elektra stoped having any meaning in Bond's life once he discovered she is not whom he thought she was and Fiona was not really attractive in Bond's eyes since he was all betwiched with Domino.

    What do you think guys ?
    Bond showed in those scenes to be a liar or he was tellimg the truth ?

    I think both times were instances of him trying to get under their skin. If Elektra meant nothing to him, he wouldn't have kissed her one last time before he dove for the sub.

    I spoke to my father, who was an architect before retirement, and he told me that the MI6 building is mostly made up of pre-stressed reinforced concrete, mostly cast "in situ", which means that the building is a real tough fortress as far as outside forces are concerned. This means that it's not possible to renovate or even repair it because it is not modular in construction. This means that it really is cheaper to demolish and rebuild from scratch.

    Great point and he did look sad he had yo kill her, it was the first time he had to kill someone he loved.

    The Waltz character saved the government a lot of money.

    Really loved SPECTRE, thought some moments, well most moments in it, were pretty much a love letter to Bond fans, which I really appreciated, it was great fun! Please only read my spoiler question if you've seen the film, I'd hate to spoil it for anyone! I have a question regarding the villain
    Oberhauser/Blofeld, I understand that he took the name Blofeld from his mother's side, but where did he get the names Ernst Stavro from?
    I'd love to hear your answers/theories!

    From Butterwoth, Logan, Purvis or Wade my dear :))

    "Blofeld" is presumedly his mother's maiden name before she married Hannes Oberhauser.

    The actual name "Ernst Stavro Blofeld" is a name from his mother's bloodline, so clearly after Franz feigned his own death and set up a clandestine terrorist cell he adopted a new persona and decided to choose one of his old ancestor's names.

    We know nothing about the real Ernst Stavro Blofeld, who is likely dead and possibly even a nice bloke. I imagine the reason Oberhauser becomes Blofeld is symbolic: his struggle early in his life with his father caused him to adopt the mantra and become SPECTRE's supreme leader. In essence, Bond created Blofeld and he slowly see the icongraphy of the character emerge throughout the film (ie; the hidden face, the silhouette, the hidden lair, the cat and eventually the scar).

    Tanner says at the start of the film that the building is rigged for demolition next week. All Waltz did was light the fuse.

    I think I might have asked this, but apparently I forgot..

    Why in some scenes in SPECTRE Lea Seydoux had blue, and in some scenes she had black eyes ?

    Lighting. :P
  • Can anyone with a good memory point out which pictures were used of the actors from the previous films in the scene where Bond walks through the old MI6 building. I seem to recall that this screenshot of Vesper was used:

    Can anyone remember the ones used for Le Chiffre, Silva and M?
