Wint and Kidd are up there with Red Grant, Oddjob and Jaws.

    Not controversial but just hateful.

I met the man and he was a gracious men and he left my daughters in total awe of his gentleness and kindness.

You Sir/madam based upon this remark are a total hateful idiot.

    Agreed. Nasty and utterly needless

I'm playing Devils Advocate here but he MIGHT have meant the character jaws as opposed to Kiel himself.

Then that is what should've been stated, as they're two totally different beings: one was a real, genuine, kind and loving person, and the other was a fictional character.

Daniel Craig is a terrible actor and by far the worst Bond.

M should have been recast in Casino Royale.

Scaramanga is the best Bond villain ever.

Goldeneye is Brosnans weakest Bond film.

The World Is Not Enough is his best.

Diamonds Are Forever is more entertaining than Goldfinger.

M dying in Skyfall was not sad in the slightest.

There will never ever be a better Bond movie than The Spy Who Loved Me.

Skyfall is by far the worst Bond film.

    Agreed on both counts.

I would say that Scaramanga is one of my favourite Bond villains. Certainly in my top 5.

I think TND is his best, and DAD is his worst. But I can find aspects to appreciate in all four of his Bonds.

There isn't much difference between the two. they are both Bonds that I would only watch if I were watching all the films.

I share that opinion. The drama in Skyfall was laid on thick, with a trowel.

It's in my top 10, and is one of Moore's better Bonds in my ranking.

It'll come as no surprise that Skyfall isn't one of my favourite Bonds, far from it, but I would single out Quantum Of Solace as my worst Bond.

    1. Moonraker is god awful and almost unwatchable.
    2. Pierce Brosnan needed a better haircut in GE. (Folks, the disco era had ended fifteen years earlier)
    3. Bond dressed as a clown was kinda cool in OP.
    4. DAF is so over-the-top bizarre and bad that it's in my Top 10.
    5. Ursula Andress is quite masculine-looking; I never got the appeal.

I agree with @TripAces about the haircut and about DAF being a deliciously entertaining film. But disagree about MR. It really is a marvellous achievement (though perhaps not necessarily a great BOND film. ;-))

I love his GE haircut. Afer the later years of Moore's bad combover, and Dalton's scooped back debacle in the casino in LTK, it was refreshing to see a Bond with a good head of hair again.

Making Bond's new backstory front&center is wrongheaded beyond belief.

Making Reboot Bond seem way more (to me anyway) like CALLAN than either Fleming's or Young's Bond is downright imbecilic.

Dislike SKYFALL and CR as much as MR and VIEW, though obviously for different reasons.

Casting a guy who looks like he should be the main villain's ugly henchman as this century's Bond is as bad an idea as anybody has had since the double-taking pigeon in MR.

I can buy Lazenby in OHMSS ... but only because I keep thinking he is just another agent, not our guy.

Enjoyed nearly all of the parts of QUANTUM I could actually see.

Consider the reboot CR to be offensively stupid. Killing espionage pros to get their cell phone info SHOULD be pointless - because they'd keep that secret info in their heads. Why? BECAUSE THEY ARE PROFESSIONALS! (and the defense of 'go with it - it is a bond movie' doesn't fly because they are presenting this as a 'serious' or 'mature' effort, so you don't get to use the ever-dubious roger moore credibility get out of jail free card.

I think a lot of LTK really FEELS like early Fleming, the same dangerous rough world.

I think Brosnan could have been very good if he had any scripts or a really good director - boorman and TAILOR OF PANAMA prove that.

I don't merely think FRWL is the best Bond, but that it is probably the best Bond we could possibly get (animated maps and strange oscillating volume on Bond theme notwithstanding.)

what is interesting, @DarthDimi, is that MR's campiness and over-the-top corniness doesn't appeal to me as DAF's. MR has some serious, intense bits. DAF has no redeeming qualities at all!!!! LOL

I didn't know this was a controversial opinion until I joined he forums, but I think TWINE is much better than TND. To me it comes down to the plot. TND's plot is just....dumb. I just have a very very difficult time believing that a private entity could design a next gen 'stealth ship' in secret, (only slightly more difficult than believing that the Chinese could design one n the 90s). And starting a war between nuclear countries to get broadcasting rights in a screamer. By contrast TWINE is positively down to earth. It's pretty believable that someone could get their hands on a surplus russian sub in the 90s, and melting it down to make your pipeline the only one is evil but makes sense.

    Also

    Sophie Marceau>Teri Hatcher

    and

Denise Richards>Michelle Yaoh. Both their acting is extremely wooden, but Richards makes up for it by being megahot.

Elliot Carver is a ludicrous villain played way way OOT by Pryce. The most cringe-inducing thing he did was mocking Wei Lin's fighting. That was a real wtf moment.

I'm with you Sark, TWINE is my second favorite Brosnan film. It's Brosnan's OHMSS.

I always found TWINE to be a solid Bond film. Not one of the best, but not one of the worst either - my second favorite Brosnan film after GE.

Maybe it's not such a controversial opinion haha. But I have noticed quite a lot of people thinking TND>>>>>TWINE, which I never understood. Elliot Carver is more like a parody of a Bond villain than an actual one.

I love Moonraker. For me, if you're going to go with the campy Moore side, you might as well go all out with it and Moonraker is a lot of fun for me.

I really enjoy The World is Not Enough. Even though I prefer Goldeneye, TWINE might be my most watched Brosnan Bond.

TMWTGG has a pretty sweet title sequence theme song, even if some of the lyrics are a little silly.

I absolutely disagree that M should have been recast in CR. As I have brought up before, the one consistent piece of continuity throughout the EON Bond films has not been through plot or logic. It has been that at least one actor has continued playing the same character in the following film. I would have hate dot see that link broken. CR is obviously in a different universe than DAD, no harm done. But it carries on the one great tradition.

CR was a total reboot for the series so therefore they should have recast M.Its as inappropriate as if they cast Pat Hingle to play Gordon in Batman Begins.

Wow, I don't ever think I've ever disagreed with a forum post this much. It is almost borderline trolling.

I think besides From Russia with Love, Goldfinger, maybe Thunderball (not amazing imo), OHMSS, and TSWLM, Maurice Binder's titles were garbage.

Mostly true, except LTK to GE? Joe Don Baker is the closest link

Never understood the hate about the clown. It was a disguise. I think what some people have a problem with is how he managed to do it so quick and perfectly
