    Agreed, as bringing him back as M would be too, IMO.

    Bond 1/26 should be all new creatives in producers, writers, directors and casts.

    However, I’d try and bring back *some* of the Heads of Departments from the latter-EoN days (Production Designers/Art Directors, casting (alas, it seems this won’t happen), Hair and Make-Up, Costumes/Wardrobe, Sound, Post-Production), the unsung heroes who make a Bond film *feel* like a Bond film.

    @peter you think they will maybe 50/50 or totally new?

    I have no idea, @HitchBondUSA , but I imagine they'll move forward with entirely new cast.

    To be fair, they've been out at this stage a few times before ;)

    This is impressive news though, he brings a lot of spark to his stuff. Could be the most exciting Bond film in years. So far the talent involved is pretty A-list.

    Okay, we have a director and at least one writer in place, does this mean they plan to get this movie released before Autumn 2028? Could we see the first Summer Bond film in almost 40 years?

    What?!? Knight will be writing the film? This is the best possible news, the best possible choice. I’m truly elated by this. Fantastic!

    A Villeneuve James Bond film written by Knight? Am I dreaming? Wow! My dream director + my dream writer.

    Who the hell are they going to choose for Bond, with top choices like these? So far so good. Well done Amazon!

Insiders say that meeting finally took place in the last week, with Villeneuve fully on board for Knight to get the job."

    Villeneuve has been in Budapest for a while. So did they meet in Budapest last week? Btw, Dune Part 3 is Villeneuve's 4th movie shot in Budapest film studios. So he has spent a lot of time in Budapest in the past 10 years, but hasn't yet filmed a movie on location in Budapest.

    Cinematic Bond has never visited Budapest so far. Will the city be one of the locations of Bond 26? It would not surprise me at all!

    Wait, Steven Knight co-created Who Wants To Be A Millionaire? I’m sure I’ve even learnt this before and forgotten…. That’s certainly an interesting career.

    Ah well. I’m happy with that! I’ve enjoyed Peaky Blinders and I thought what I saw of SAS Rogue Heroes was very witty. I really enjoyed Locke. I’m interested in seeing what he does.

    Knight seems very hit-and-miss. Eastern Promises was good, though. At least he's more appropriate for Bond than the likes of Logan, Butterworth, and Waller-Bridge, so overall I'd say this is a somewhat positive development.

    It felt to me like something written for post-Bond Brozza. I’m not convinced by Knight’s work outside of Peaky. Kudos for his work on The Detectives, though, as a Jasper Carrott fan from the 80s… Any chance of Jasper as Q and Robert Powell as M in Bond 26?

    Amazon continues to ruin Bond with this new announcement. What are they thinking?!?!? Goodnight is going to write the film, this is nuts. Oh wait, did you say Knight? Never mind.

    The Veil was fine as a spy thriller goes, I wish it delivered on its premise better. Although granted that wasn't just the fault of the writing. And I heard a great discussion on his adaptation of Great Expectations that almost makes me want to rewatch it but personally I couldn't get past episode 2. So I'm keeping my expectations tempered for now.

    Knight is very much home run or swing and miss for me. Which - come to think of it - is something I've been clamoring for for years. Get creators with a vision and go for it, instead of trying to make everything by committee. And now that they do that I get a little freaked out ;-)

    I've never really watched Peaky Blinders and some of the Fandom around it is annoying to me, but it's obviously a huge success. And I really like SAS and Eastern Promises. Maybe not the greatest hit rate, but there aren't that many working writers who have a handful of stone cold classics in the bag.

    Will be really interesting to see how he matches with Villeneuve. Could be gold, could be major disfunction .

    Like I said, they are going for it.
