And now, it's hurtful to say but we need to say goodbye to the Moore Era......👋

It's been a wonderful journey and an absolute rollercoaster ride that we've came to appreciate the cinematography in his era that some fans might have overlooked.

And now, we're coming into another era, short and brief, yet memorable and it's still growing in the hearts of the fans.

    The Dalton Era!

    tumblr_inline_pkelozJbdK1sr42eh_500.gif

This time, we're going to delve into the grittiness and seriousness of the Dalton Era!

But if the Dalton Era was tough and serious, could be the cinematography and the shots in his film too?

To be as grit as he was, beautifully gritty?

    Let's see.....🧐🤔

@zebrafish 's Ruthless would be my favourite. Dalton's pose is perfectly "Bond".

This is a really nice one. I like the composition of it with the tanker in the background.

A quick note on this posting. Although AVTAK wasn’t without merit, TLD really represented (IMO obviously), a major step up in tone. And a lot of that is due to Dalton.

Its’ not just his acting, but the nature of how he interacts with other people. Whether it’s with Moneypenny, M, General Gogol, General Pushkin, or Kara (especially with Kara) he has a hard to define quality that elevates every scene, and I think that impacts the composition of many scenes in the film. While I have my theories about why the US market didn’t take to Dalton as Bond, of the quality of his performance, there can be little doubt.

The first three postings aren’t up for consideration, but I just wanted to add them. Why? Just because. Plus, we are getting to that point in time (the late 1980s) where many of the remaining Bond stalwarts are going to be making their final marks on the series.

Do you guys think The Living Daylights is an improvement over A View To A Kill in terms of cinematography?

Absolutely! I mean, just look at the choices here, there is so much great cinematography to choose from. With AVTAK I had a hard time even convincing myself that #1 and #2 are outstanding shots (though they are the best ones for that film).

I think it's an improvement on AVTAK. The palette certainly feel richer, for one. Just love all those colours at Prater park.

So far 007 movies from my top 10. Only Pierce first three movies to go.

I think AVTAK always be inprovement on Goldfinger. Location use, plot and the music. TLD have problem of second villian i dislike a lot like Orlov in Octopussy. The girl, Krabbe in it, better pts, Marocco and Barry favorite score possible made difrence of TLD 9, Octopussy 10. Even whyle i like music and villian from Octopussy more then AVAK. AVTAK 5.

I find myself scratching my head over some of these, particularly the first 2. The first one is Felix in front of some computers and the second is just Bond and Kara on a horse. Is there some beauty I’m missing in those 2? Lol. Why are we considering these? :)
