Villeneuve must have already told Zimmer, he's scoring Bond 26. So Zimmer can prepare early this time.

Zimmer can decide ahead of time who will be shadow writing the score for him.

Zimmer isnt really a melodic composer and Bond is a melodic driven soundscape. I dont think he did particularly well with giving NTTD a cohesive soundtrack tied together with a couple of really solid melodies/themes. I hope for Arnold (it wont happen) or someone like Alexandre Desplat or Michael Giacchino.

Yes. You're right about Zimmer's shadow writing way. But just like Nolan, Villeneuve likes Zimmer to do it almost...entirely by himself, or monitor the music very closely. I honestly don't see Villeneuve working with another composer who isn't Zimmer & his Remote Control composers.

I think it is part of the reason why Nolan stopped working with him. Zimmer brought on a lot of collaborators for Dunkirk and Nolan didn’t like it. I vaguely remember some internet talk about it from the time. Certainly the credits for Dunkirk would support this.

Maybe. But I think the main reason is, Nolan felt offended when he asked Zimmer to score Tenet, and Zimmer turned it down for Dune....and it didn't help that Zimmer made time out to score a Bond film. Something Nolan have always wanted to direct. Maybe I'm wrong, but I just feel Nolan, being an introvert...simply gave Zimmer the silent treatment.
