If anyone tries to take out the beloved double taking pigeon, I'll send George Lazenby round to sort 'em out!

Aside from digitally inserting Dalton into GoldenEye, I agree ;)

Truthfully, if they removed the whistle from TMWTGG I sure wouldn't miss it

Agree. The films should be left as they were originally released. It's bad enough when they got mutilated not edited for ITV viewings. Leave them alone as its a part of its charm.

Yes, I'm in 100% agreement with this one. We don't want the Lucas way of doing things.

No fixing otherwise some folks cannot moan about GL anymore. :D

Who doesn't want a CGI M in FYEO, a NOOOO! inserted when Tracy dies or a Professor Dent really shooting first before Bond kills him in cold blood??

    Well, I don't. I agree with T-118.

We don't want no tampering with these things, sooner or later they will realize they have to leave some things alone. Thesis seems accurate

Things should be fixed (think about) before release on tv or cinema.

I disagree a litle bit with Volante. Quality of the picture also can change your opnion of the movie. A good example is the preview of the BD of Twine from the BD pres conference where we you can see there at more blue dark cinematography to the factory where Christmis Jones and Valentine be. Screenshots i saw from the dvd of CR at les red for CR dvd, whyle with QOS there at more.

Well, in a certain way, I agree. but with technology evolving I can imagine a time where you could choose beforehand between two options (much like many ' alternate endings' you find as extra's). In a way putting the film together yourself. I for one do find a couple of things very annoying in a not-very-good-anyway DAF that I could do without and that would improve the joy for me watching it. That silly changing-sides in the alley for example. I wouldn't really have noticed the fact that the car is actually on the wrong wheels, adding that cut made it blatandly obvious. And that moonbuggy wheel that just comes bouncing about while they're chasing Bond. That's another one.

It cannot be coincidence that no Bond film, except CR and QOS, ever featured rain.

I don't think it means anything of significance. QoS also has rain, by the way. It is like looking at a Shakespeare passage and thinking every single sentence has a meaning. Sometimes *gasp* IT DOESN'T.

Thanks, OBrady. I fixed the thesis. ;-)

Why not? what's supposed to be the connection? And isn't QoS all about not having any rain? ;)

I think there are some rain drops in Bregenz. No?

Oh dear heavens, I have never noticed this before! Wow that's cool! Anywho, to answer the thesis at hand, I'd say it's just a coincidence. I doubt there's some deep, philosophical, or metaphorical meaning to the fact that Craig's two are the only ones with rain.

How about convenience? Maybe the folks at EON don't like to shoot in the rain. ;-)

Ah, there's a more likely possibility!

No it isn't, You will proberbly find nearly all bond films have rain in them. Its just that rain in natural amounts can't be seen. As long as it is a light shower they continue filming. The rain we see in fim is usually provided by the local fire department.

Never really seen it as an issue? But in terms of the thesis? I guess i agree?

It's another example of EON trying to copy the more moody, brooding atmosphere of the Bourne trilogy.

No, @Dimi. There is rain when Bond travels in London (go figure) to Mitchell's apartment.

Rain? In the UK? Never! ;)

You're right. ;-) Wow, I really need to go to sleep. Or get loaded on caffeine. ;-) QOS is a bit of a blur at this point yet I've seen the film a gazillion times. Comes from getting only half a decent scene every time I s'pose. ;-)

I thought it was a myth, long, long ago, but after seeing Bigfoot, I think anything is possible. He, Nessie and I play poker on the weekends. That hairy brute sure can bluff.

Ah with the government getting control of the water supplies and the people going to be dying of thirst and the desert there ... yeah well I suppose. Reminds me of Chinatown a bit.

I think there is no obvious intended meaning with the rain in CR and QOS.

I seem to recall that weather conditions were poor during the DAD shoots on Dr. Alvarez' island. You could be right; rain might have been around in this case too but then in too short supplies to be perceptible on screen.

OHMSS has rain. "Mr. Bond is in love with you?"

It could just be that simple :)). It does make for great drama, though.

Indeed it did. Plus the rain in Casino Royale didn't add to any mood at all. It was barely on screen for five seconds.
