Gen z wants to see Bond vape

What flavour? I think he'd be a Strawberry Jam type of guy.
Kill two birds with one stone: "Vodka martini flavoured vape. Shaken not stirred."

we are in realistic era thrillers, so could be a new 007 who jokes, who is single but havent met the girl yet(and dont sleep with all the girls) but he met one in the movie, but everything is more calm, and more natural. like, the next bond girl needs to be smart and beautiful, not only beautiful. like the plot needs to be about the guy becoming bond, but still having jokes and the girl being smart enough to joke with him.
someone like rachel mc adams, or kiera knightley. girls that are beautiful and funny, and that are smart and not just a beautiful girl.

So like, Bond and Kara in The Living Daylights.

As for Bond smoking again, aren't there alternative cigars without Tobacco and Nicotine now?

Do you think Bond would use some sort of social media in the next films?

A sobering thought, does gen Z generally give a hoot about the next Bond?

That's why the next film will have to connect with those people and leave them thinking of the new guy as 'their' Bond. Then they'll be invested and on board for the next run - hopefully! CR did it with Dan, so it can be done - but what're the odds on a repeat of that when they don't have either CR or Daniel Craig this time around? There's a lot riding on what happens next.

That’s always been the case with Bond ever since Connery left however. EON will find a way.

Possibly, but the differences in generations is becoming much more pronounced and , as with technology moving at an accelerated rate . I actually would not try to pander to a given group or generation. They should make a film that’s true to the character and the story they want to tell and let it find its audience.

They could use the Casino Royale structure (minus the ending):

    1. Pre-title sequence that shows the audience everything they need to know about Bond
    2. Mission goes wrong
    3. Bond is scolded by M
    4. Bond investigates for himself
    5. Bond is assigned to a mission connected to his investigation
    6. Bond meets the girl
    7. Mission goes wrong and Bond is captured then gets rescued
    8. Bond gets the girl

They could certainly do a lot worse than flesh out that framework.

I know I'm probably in the minority here, but I'm getting sick of M scolding Bond. In particular, if Purvis and Wade have a say in the script. It usually leads into Bond leaving MI6. I know that they're boss and employee, but it keeps happening in particular since they started writing.

I think they would like to see Bond vaping, skateboarding, and on TikTok. But not having sex--that's so cringe.

Do Gen Zers even care about a character like James Bond? I haven't run into many who even discuss the Bond series let alone what they would change about it.

So do timeless characters become truly time-less/out of time? Over time.

    Maybe.

Well I do. We're in a tricky transitionary period at the moment, but I'm confident it will always find an audience.

Is Generation Z the same as the self-styled "Last Generation", that keeps glueing itself to main thoroughfares (at least here in Germany) and causing traffic chaos to protest inactivity in fighting climate change? I mean, just asking since Z is the last letter in the alphabet and they left out all the others.

That being said, I think it makes more commercial sense for EoN to keep amusing their older audience, including boomers like me, since I don't believe most of "Gen Z" can be made to become enthusiastic about a very mid-20th century figure. Cf. Indiana Jones 5. So I hope when Bond returns he will be mostly old-style and not politically correct as some people already have Craig's Bond made out to be (which is BS, IMO).

    Agreed.
I want Bond to come back to his "Sexist Mysoginist Dinosaur" personality from the 90's.

Then count me out. I like some of Nolan's movies, but overall I think he's just as overrated as James Cameron. Again, I like a couple of his movies, but overall, as with Nolan, I have no particular desire to see his works.

After hearing me constantly make Bond references at work, one of my Generation Z co-workers told me the only Bond he'd seen all the way through was TWINE.
One day he told me he'd been looking for some films on streaming, and the 60's Bonds were available. He said he almost made me proud, but had opted to watch PULP FICTION that night instead. He didn't care for that film too much, and thought he'd have had more fun with one of the Bonds.
I actually suggested he start with CR, as, IMO it's a great modern example of a Bond film.
Interestingly, he later told me he'd read some of the Idris Elba rumors on the internet, and thought Idris's age didn't matter at all.
He likes a variety of films and television from classics like Bonanza to newer films.
At the rate that modern franchise films are flopping these days he agreed with me that if Barbara and Michael sit on B26 too long, they may have to stream just to survive.

The difference when I was considered in the Gen Z age range is that we had variety and exposure to the franchise. The Brosnan factory was pumping out films, we had games every year. Movies were constantly on TV. Now we have next to nothing. No game, half decade plus years in between films. Like many, GE the film and the N64 was the reason we got into the films but also my dad was a huge Bond fan as well. Gen Z as a whole don't know what they want in the franchise because many don't see Bond as a cultural icon it once was. Bond defined my Gen Z years, but Marvel, Star Wars etc is what defined the current Gen Z entertainment market.

None, I'm the only one 😅

Edit: I don't know if they even know Bond at all.

@SIS_HQ - Point taken. A fan like me has been invested in this series since 1962. An 18 year old today would have been born the year Craig made his first Bond film.
