    @ColonelSun — that also fits beautifully….

Do you think the majority of Americans understand that "Colonel" is pronounced "Kernel" ?

In the beginning of Operation Mincemeat film on Netflix, Fleming says “A Wilderness of Mirrors” which could make a good title, if a little Le Carré.

I haven't seen the film so I assume the title makes perfect sense but I'd rate..

    Operation Mincemeat

...one of the worst title I've ever seen.

    ;))

I'm glad Ian Fleming never wrote a title like...

    Operation Kill Dr. No

    🤭

Ian Fleming was a genius for coming up with great Bond titles.

It was the name of a real operation in WWII. According to the story it was originally called Operation Trojan Horse, but was deemed too obvious.

The only Fleming title that comes close to something like this is Thunderball. And then, I suppose, Goldeneye.

Like that ''A Wilderness of Mirrors'' title sugestion. I discus Operation Mincemeat before together with the alternate American title ''The Man Who Never Was''. Refer to it with a qoute my Operation Ruthless fanart poster because my opnion German title and sound like it mean Operatie Muismat in Dutch (English: Operation Mouse Pad)

    Operation-Ruthless.jpg

    I prefer Operation Ruthless.

    This was my top 11.

    1. Operation Ruthless *
    2. Risico
    3. Property Of A Lady
    4. Bird with a wings down
    5. Hildebrand Rarity
    6. The Man Who Never Was (alternate title of Operation Mincemat)
    7. Shaken Not Stirred
    8. 007 In New York
    9. Never Send Flowers
    10. Mr Kiss Kiss Bang Bang
    11. Operation Mincemeat

    * Story is already used by Bruce Feirstein for element in Tomorrow Never Dies.

What be great is that idea behind Operation Mincemeat not only comes from Fleming but Bond producers / Fleming must be inspyred for Bond ''death'' for Yolt. Also FRWL use another element that at same time refer to the fact operation be inspiration for Moneypenny.

It is a shame Warner making poor video image bluray (French/Dutch) release of 2022 movie and not at any extra's whyle there is very good documentry avaible

I'd definitely be on board with that one! Would love to see David Dragonpol make it to the big screen. ;)

It's very good. But as we know, once fans start clamouring for something, EON won't do it.

I didn't realise they took all that much notice of the fans. They seem to be more focused on the general audience as that's where the big money lies.

Yeah. But I would like to think EON read the thoughts of fans. Like I would be very surprised if EON don't read our comments here, because this forum is very popular around the world and easily the best James Bond forum.

Yes, I'm sure they do and they may even be among us. Who knows? They do obviously cater to the fans too with their announcements and updates while filming the latest Bond film etc. They also like to throw in some little nods to the Fleming novels or previous Bond films for the fans to enjoy in each new film.

Yeah, they actually do. But when you think of how much fans wanted NTTD to be titled ShatterHand and EON paid no attention to it, it's evident that EON always want to surprise fans with their decisions, even if fans' suggestions work at times. Because I think ShatterHand would have worked perfectly for NTTD, since the film had elements of Fleming's YOLT in it.
  • We could be waiting a few more years for the official title. EON don't appear to be in a hurry.

The length of that title reminds me of this routine from Harry Hill:

Battle for the title of the next Bond film:

    EON: Bond
    McClory: Bond Bond
    EON: Bond Bond Bond
    McClory: Bond Bond Bond Bond
EON: Bond Bond Bond Bond Bond Bond Bond Bond Bond Bond... Bond
    McClory: Never Say Bond Again
    EON: Touché

    Special thanks to
    Harry Hill
    Thanks for all the laughs
