@Dragonpol There's a very masterful way Fleming described Bond's face when he was sleeping in the books. I can't remember the particular novel right now, but a title could be made out of how Fleming described Bond's sleeping face.

Oh, I think that'd be Casino Royale, end of Chapter 1:

"His last action was to slip his right hand under the pillow until it rested under the butt of the .38 Colt Police Positive with the sawn barrel. Then he slept, and with the warmth and humour of his eyes extinguished, his features relapsed into a taciturn mask, ironical, brutal, and cold."

A Taciturn Mask/The Taciturn Mask could work for a new Bond actor's first film.

Exactly!!!!! That's the chapter. :)>- Yeah, that title could work.

I thought so. It's a famous quote. It could be a great starting point for a new Bond actor.

Also a good name for a mission.

It could be the new Quantum though I doubt they'd make that mistake again.

Haha! I know what you mean. But I'm surprised it would confuse people though. Like when they said Licence Revoked was difficult to understand, so it had to be changed to Licence To Kill....and I prefer the former a lot.

Yes, it certainly made a lot more sense than Licence to Kill as it was the one film where he didn't have an officially sanctioned licence to kill! I suppose it could be taken to refer to Bond giving himself a poetic licence to kill, but that's maybe being overly charitable to a less than inspired title.

In interviews Ian Fleming used to say was he supposed to dock Bond on his income tax as opposed to having his villains torture him?

Nice, I like his humour. It would make a good villain speech:

"Mr Bond, there are but two things certain in this world - death and taxes. You've managed to survive the latter, with your pills and your drink."

Haha! I know, right? Still sounds cool, though. One could even say it sounds like Taxi Turn too.

While not being the title I absolutely want for the next instalment, I must say I quite like it. Also, as opposed to "Quantum", the equivalents of "Taciturn" in other languages are close ("taciturno" in Spanish and Italian, "taciturne" in French), so it shouldn't be a problem for international markets.

    That's why I think it's fitting, personally.

In that Bond had a poetic/artistic licence to kill off his own bat?

Both that and LTK being the one where M took it from him.

Sadly they were rather hamstrung when their market research suggested that their initial title wouldn't be properly understood by US audiences so they had to go with Plan B and retitled it.

    Shot in the Dark

Bond films recently borrowed quite a bit from Austin Powers already, now you suggest taking a title from Inspector Clousseau ?

    If it fits, it fits...

Someone suggested When All Else Fails a while back, I think that'd be pretty good.

Upon reflection, would the Pink Panther theme be the second-most recognizable movie theme from the 1960s ?

Shaken Not Stirred. Maybe too obviously Bondian, but it should make a lot of fans happy and send a message that Bond films are returning to misson-based, standalone adventures.

That recalls an Eddie Money album title for me @LucknFate.

    Other contenders, plus song titles:

    Life for the Taking
    Can't Hold Back
    Nothing to Lose
    Love and Money

    Shakin'
    The Big Crash
    Walk on Water

It feels a bit obvious, but then Licence To Kill felt the same to me and we got used to it, so yeah; it certainly seems possible. I wouldn't rule it out.
