They won't announce anything until there's something to announce, which is nothing unusual in gaming these days for the most part for anything that isn't an annual franchise.

"You needn't worry. The second is..."

The longer they wait until an announcement/date, the better. I'm sick and tired of games being announced, only to go through another few years of development before being delayed an extra year or two, for the game to finally release and be rife with bugs and other issues.

while I agree I am glad we got something in 2020 that being said how long does it take o develop a game...

I guess I still have Hitman the rest of Arkham Knight (which has bugs on the x box one versions) and of course Force Unleashed 3... I mean Star Wars Fallen Jedi Order completely different from Force unleashed...

so I have plenty of games to keep me busy throughout he year however its been now 10 years since the last real bond game (I almost spent 59 bucks to buy Fornza Horizon 4 for the 007 skins but saner minds prevailed)

Many years. Hell, even the upcoming GTA 6 (or whatever title it ends up taking) has likely been in development since GTA V was completed but still won't release for another 2-3 years. It varies, of course, depending on the size and scale of the game and the development team doing the work, so hopefully we get this one on consoles by 2024 at the latest.

It’s one thing to bump a thread but another to post 3-4 comments in a row in a matter of minutes, so you’re all good.

There are so many little details and clues and Easter eggs throughout those missions, I love it. I can’t wait to see what they bring to the table with Bond.

A good tip for Hitman is just to explore each map the first time you play it. Take your sweet time, look for shortcuts and hidden routes, learn where the best objects are placed, etc.

Here’s some trivia from IMDb. Not sure if it’s true, but I like this possible information, that answers some questions: IO Interactive in collaboration with MGM, EON Productions and Delphi announced on 20th November 2020 that they are developing the very first James Bond origin story with the working title ''Project 007''. According to Tech Buzz Ireland, ''the origin story won't be based on the James Bond origin story contained in Ian Fleming's original Casino Royale novel or in the 2006 movie adaptation in which Daniel Craig first played the charismatic spy. Nor will the origin story of Project 007 be based on the prequel novels written by Anthony Horowitz.''

are Dave and Jane our new 007 and M?

just odd they would even comment about the game unless they were involved.

It's understandable that they'd get thoughts and comments from them, considering IO has spent the past many years almost exclusively working on Hitman and is now tackling a beloved property such as Bond. I'm sure if they could find a way to include them in the game, IO will, but no, I don't see the two of them being that heavily involved.

I think you pretty much summed it up. I don't think Bateson and Perry are involved in project 007. They work for IOI, IOI have acquired the Bond licence, which has been a big announcement (with, as far as I have seen, overwhelmingly positive reception from gamers). Though it would be neat if they could both be fitted into the game as supporting characters. Which still wouldn't be as distracting as Hugh Dennis in NTTD. I did a double take when showed up.

What caught my eye was this...

Bateson echoed Perry's thoughts and spoke about how Bond seems to be a natural evolution from Agent 47. "Yeah, I think it's not a quantum leap to go from Agent 47 to Agent 007," said Bateson. "But what I do think is that it's a massive compliment to IO Interactive for being awarded the franchise. I think they're looking at it as a one-off game. Well, although I believe IO Interactive would be interested in going further with it. I believe they're only contracted for one, but I think they would be definitely interested in a future collaboration, so we are both very happy on behalf of IO Interactive."

I thought that IOI were looking to make a trilogy. Where did I get that from? I must have imagined it.

Everything today is made with a trilogy in mind, lol. Especially James Bond.

That level introduced so many cool ideas, just a shame that the trilogy ends with a linear level like that. I was very disappointed. All the other maps were incredible though, a big upgrade over the ones from the second installment.

There might have been a comment by IOI along the lines of "we would have ideas for three, but let's get this one done first."

I am very concerned that Amazon will block any future games that aren't done by their own Game Studio. Which sucks.

I'm interested to see what the Amazon deal closing means for the gaming side of the franchise as well.

Not to slow down the hype or anything, but I'm starting to wonder if they're possibly much early in the game's development than we might suspect. On the IOI careers site, they're still advertising for positions like the Global Brand Manager (runs the marketing) and a Gameplay Director (admittedly, there will be more than one). Those are fairly high-level team members.

Leads me to believe there's still a great deal to be done before we see anything of substance.

Are IO Interactive making their own Bond or are they waiting for EON to cast Bond #7 to use his likeness

Yep. Likeness, voice and story will all be original as far as we’ve been told.

That's a pretty non-article, considering the first Bond game we're getting in a decade isn't an FPS.

Oh no, I wasn't complaining about you posting it - for me, with certain things, any news or articles are appreciated - just pointing out what a non-article it was from them, in a sea of many that they produce.

I also on occasion like clickbait articles, particularly if they involve James Bond. There is also the fact that I also like hearing different opinions on certain things, even if I don’t agree with them.

It is, as @Ryan called it, a non-article. But a nice reminder that is is happening and that a generation of consoles without a single Bond game, will be worth it.

I hope so, Joss Stone wasn't the biggest name but the Blood Stone theme is a low-key belter.
