Could be irrelevant if this is a separate universe, but it might indicate the Bond they're planning to cast (or have already) will in fact be Caucasian, light brown hair, similar build, etc.

Hope not. We're long overdue for a POC Bond. I had a vague hope this game would pull the trigger on that, but I'm not surprised it didn't.

As most of what we've seen of First Light here would have (theoretically) been developed while the property was still under EON's creative control, it's possible all bets are off now. I suspect our questions will all be answered soon enough!

It probably would have been welcomed without too much controversy ten years ago, but in today’s climate it feels like the discourse would only get toxic and distract from the filmmakers just trying to deliver a cracking film.

Looks great so far! The thing that made me the happiest was the cheek scar; I hope they pull lots of details from the original Fleming novels for this. The direction I would have gone in is period piece 1950s / 1960s, but I'm really liking how this looks so far still.

I wonder if he gets the scar from the mountain climbing accident that resulted in the death of his parents.

The trailer looks good, though the opening was very corny with the 70s cop show setup- "The mayor's breathing down my neck over that little stunt of Bond's. We play by the rules down in this precinct!" Though to be fair, the movies had a little bit of that, as well.

It looks like they’re going for a more timeless angle where it’s a mix of contemporary and mid 20th century aesthetics, sort of like how BATMAN TAS was blending the modern world with 1930s aesthetics.

Woh, its look like absolutly fantastic! Third pearson, exotism, gadgets, vehicles sequence with the reference to The Pursuader, the M office design, the fact there is real brands (instead oof the fake ones in Hitman, even if there the same as usual and I fear some abuse like in the recents films where there is Aston or Jag in absolutly in every corner), and apparently you can kill a lot peoples (despite not to be to Bararbara liking).

I like how they pull out element from the book like the scar. But change the ethnicity of Monypenny from the book or give Bond a PPK instead of a Beretta for his first (?) mission ?

You apparently can throw gun at ennemies.

I think I'm gonna buy a Serie X just for it.

You guys can't seriously be in here arguing about race after the first Bond game announcement in over a decade. Give it a rest!

Game looks pretty cool to me, it's gonna be a fun 2026 for old school gamers!

I'm not a gamer so none of this means anything to me but I do like the fact that the guy who kinda looks like Ethan Hunt has Bond's trademark scar and OHMSS was used.

I don't see how the time elapsed since the last game is a argument for not arguing about any of the questionable choices of the next game. In that case we might alrady give 10/10 to the next film and not critique any questionable aspect that might be in it under the argument of it is the first film we have in since a record number of years...

I'm looking forward on knowing the other characters, I'm wondering who would be the Bond Girl for this? Or the Bond villain? The visuals are really good for me so far, excited for it.

Game looks awesome. Seeing a lot of Roman influence in there and what looks like a company called Webb Industries, which may or may not be the villain's company.

But I thought a lighthearted, breezy Bond could never work in the modern day, that audiences have moved on?

Does the new IO game suggest what direction Amazon could be headed in the next era of the films.

It could be. But I can't remember any member outrightly saying, he doesn't want a breezy Bond film. What I understand is, most of us want the balance right. That's why TLD & GE keeps popping up in discussions when we talk about getting the tone balanced. Not too light, not too dark.

It looks like a good blending of GE and CR.

It certainly doesn’t look braindead like DAD, thankfully.

Yes. You could definitely throw CR in there too. Also, since Bond died in the last film, surely Bond 26 is going to be a triumphant roar.

Yeah, or worse, the last 2 films.

I would certainly hope so. If they mess this up they aren't going to get a second chance, we saw already how sceptical people were when the deal was announced.

I know IO have been working on First Light for years, and I highly doubt Amazon have played some kind of substantial role in its production...but part of me would love to find out that Amazon pumped a bunch of money into this after the acquisition in order to get the wheels spinning faster on it because they believed in it.

If that's the case...a whole bunch of my anxiety about the future of the Bond films has disappeared. This looks like a definitive piece of Bond media, nevermind video games.

You can say what you want of SP and NTTD, but they’re no where near as embarrassing and cringe as DAD. It was so bad that instead of giving Brosnan a fifth film to redeem his tenure, Eon rightfully dismissed him.

I would argue that next to none of what makes DAD a disaster is on Brosnan's shoulders. He's trying with atrocious material even though it's blatantly not the movie he would've chosen to make.

He certainly didn’t do a good job convincing Eon to keep him around.

Well, they were awful films, so it's only stating the obvious really.

That’s only your opinion, which is very different from DAD being terrible as an objective fact.

Sure, other than the box office of DAD. I'm not exactly sure what more he was supposed to do?

Obviously I approve of the direction and decision that EON went in, but I find it really unfair to pin Brosnan's dismissal on, well...Brosnan. But we're getting way off track here. The game looks incredible.

Be a better actor, of course.

He's a great actor and his biggest "sin" as Bond is that for the first time it felt like the actor playing Bond was retracing steps of previous actors in his interpretation.

I look back at some of the remarks I made about Brosnan when I was ~18 with embarrassment. I find the notion that he's a bad actor nonsensical.
