I like Tarantino's movies but the guy is really embarrassing himself with his whining and childish cheap shots at Bond. He's got so much going for him and to be thankful for and he's wasting his time and energy moaning about Bond? Come on, Quentin, get it together.

MI6 posted it but it didn't get any discussion going:

I do agree, it comes off like a child who didn't get to play with their favourite toy. Now, you don't see Spielberg doing that, do you?

    What a joke. It's been 10 years and time's a healer, right?

Naa by all means. Tarantino has an ego bigger then the NY skyline. Also I don't wanna see a blood dripping Bond film from start to finish. No, thank you.

I don't get it, Quentin. Skyfall is arguably the most symbolic and thematic Bond film ever, and is so much more than action. He must have fallen asleep near the inquiry, climax and resolution if this is how he responded.

The fact that Tarantino sees SF more as an action movie and not a Bond movie proves he wouldn't be fit for the job of directing a Bond movie. He doesn't understand the basis of the character, the Britishness of the character, which is what is captured in SF.

I could imagine a Tarantino Bond flick would have a real American vibe riding throughout, with gangsters, retro 70's nods, stupid OTT violence, trashy conversations, cheap gimmicks, over-stylized, Spaghetti Western, American comics and Kung Fu influences, etc.

Thankfully the producers had more sense than to go anywhere near Tarantino, who is probably the most inappropiate director for Bond in Hollywood at the moment.

I couldn't think of anyone worse.

That said I think Tarantino will tackle spies in the end. There was talk about the Bernard Samson books back a few years and I could see him doing one of the American series, Matt Helm or Man from Uncle maybe.

A Tarantino slant on MFU or Matt Helm would be interesting although it would upset the purists.
As for Samson, please no. They deserve a movie treatment but not QT.

How right you both are but I think the real solution for Tarantino is to produce and direct the "Modesty Blaise" series.
Correctly handled and well adapted (either set in the '60s or updated) these novels have the potential to "Out Bond" Bond!
With regard to Sampson - our friend is correct. They deserve adaptation but a la "Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy".
Matt Helm or MFU perhaps but why tread water with mediocrity when he could do Blaise!

I think QT is just mad that Skyfall is making more money than Django Unchained so he has to once again complain how he didn't get to make Casino Royale in his image.

Cannot see Babs and MGW letting him anywhere near a Bond film!
