All middling entries, but AVTAK and DAF.

AVTAK over MR easily, though my appreciation for both films have come a long way.

TND over DAF more easily. TND has flaws, but DAF’s problems bother me way more.

I would always put MR at the bottom with DAD. AVTAK is way down there too. I think though I now rate MR higher than AVTAK.

As for DAF vs TND, that’s a fairly close one, but I think DAF.

Moonraker and A View To A Kill are right next to each other in my ranking's. Despite being on the lower end of my ranking, they're both great films and a lot of fun to watch.

    MR over AVTAK.

    TND over DAF

The second pairing are slightly further afield of each other, but again both are highly rewatchable. TND is almost non-stop action. DAF is full of wonderful dialogue and bizarre and memorable characters.

MR - I've grown to really enjoy this film and of Roger's I prefer if to AVTAK, OP & TMWTGG. The score, the cinematography, Bernard lee's swansong, the PTS parachute stunt, the last time Roger Moore looks in great shape, the haunting death of Corrine filmed as if it was a Dario Argento scene, the tense centrifuge sequence with a good performance from Moore, an excellent villain with some top class banter with Bond. People say it's silly, but remove Jaws and the Bondola sequence and it's not that bad at all. TSWLM has plenty of goofy moments too (many of them including Jaws as well)

TND while not a huge fan of TND, it wins over DAF which is near the bottom for me.

Moonraker, give me epic globetrotting over abandoned American mines anyday.

Diamonds Are Forever, I prefer snobby Sean and hilarious Charles Gray over generic shoot ‘em ups.

MR, as it's more fun than AVTAK.
    and
    DAF, cos, ....well that's obvious!!

My appreciation for MR has grown over the years, and despite the duo of Connery/Gray having a grand old time, it has to TND.

MR. While neither movie ranks highly with me, at least MR attempted to provide an epic Bond movie, and I’ve always liked Michael Lonsdale’s Hugo Drax.

DAF. Jill St. John in a bikini, witty dialogue, John Barry’s score ……. but mostly Ms. St. John 😉. For some reason, I’ve gone off TND, although I’m sure I liked it back in 1997. These days I actually find TWINE to be the better movie.

    MR over AVTAK

    TND over DAF

    Both are absolute blowouts.
  • AVTAK over MR. Two of my least favourites, but at least AVTAK has interesting quirky villains rather than boring, goofy ones.
Despite DAF being a bit of a guilty pleasure, TND is a fun middle of the road Bond film, which is highly re-watchable and better made.

AVTAK for me. I do enjoy Moonraker, but it just went a little too far into fantasy territory for me. There is a fine line in Bond when it comes to these sort of films. TSWLM stayed on the right side, but MR crossed it. And although AVTAK is far from a series defining classic, it does have Zorin, who is my favourite villain of the whole lot.

Second one, I will go for TND. Again, just a middling film. But it does have great action, and a good villain. DAF seems like a parody of earlier Connery stuff. He doesn't look bothered, the whole production looks lacklustre. It's the one Connery film that I have always disliked. It's a bottom dweller, for me.

No movie of the series has made greater progress in growing in my appreciation than MR, and it still manages to blast AVTAK away. (Small consolation: AVTAK is on the verge of surpassing OP and turn the latter into my least favourite Moore film.)

DAF is still good fun for the dialogue...masking an illogical story with plot holes bigger than a meteor crater, but TND is clearly the better movie for me - apart from the local patriot factor.

So MR and TND it is, without doubt.

    MR vs AVTAK
Well, I wouldn’t mind snuggling up with either on a Saturday night, but Moonraker is the kind of fun I’m looking for! 😝

    DAF vs TND
I’ll take Brosnan if I may!
