Neither amount of time in tuxedo nor nonviolent, action-free confrontation with the villain

Moved to the new page. Also, to my great shame, I just realized Goldfinger should actually be 5 places lower than I originally had it (sorry, guys—though maybe that in itself will provide a further clue).

    Greatest to least:

    1. Spectre
    2. Casino Royale
    3. From Russia With Love
    4. Dr. No
    5. Licence to Kill
    6. The Living Daylights
    7. On Her Majesty's Secret Service
    8. Live and Let Die
    9. For Your Eyes Only
    10. Quantum of Solace
    11. Moonraker
    12. GoldenEye
    13. A View to a Kill
    14. The Man with the Golden Gun
    15. The Spy Who Loved Me
    16. You Only Live Twice
    17. Octopussy
    18. Diamonds Are Forever
    19. Die Another Day
    20. Thunderball
    21. Goldfinger
    22. Skyfall

Not applicable: Tomorrow Never Dies and The World Is Not Enough

Time elapsed until the climax begins?
  • Not time until climax

    This is a great round.
  • Thanks, I'm excited for the moment when someone gets it!

Some of the ideas I am coming up with and ultimately dismissing because they don't fit are worth using in the future.

Time until we see Bond coming out of the shadows?

You see I am absolutely clueless :-)
  • it's a great idea for a game, but there should be clues, maybe three, one each ever other day or so, if by then no one guesses correctly the answer could be given and the player gets another round.

No, let the person run their round as they see fit. Length of time shouldn't be a factor. Ultimately it's a @GBF thread, he decides the rules. We're enjoying it, no reason to meddle.

I guess it won't take much time until Birleson will have found the solution, so let's wait a little bit. I guess if more people participated actively, we might have already found the right answer.
  • There already are a couple clues for this round (and by nature of the game itself, having 24 films ranked in a particular order is a pretty big clue itself for any given round).

I have confidence someone will guess this one as is. If there is a consensus among those playing for another clue or for me to reveal the answer, then I will, but I'll leave it for now.

Or, for the future, perhaps we could have a system where one clue is revealed per week if no one has guessed correctly yet.

I always feel less clues the better.
  • Some of us like more of a challenge, but we do want everyone involved. Perhaps we can come to a compromise to get everybody guessing, like one clue per week, for future rounds.

For what it's worth, I'm loving this round. As much as I'd love another clue, I'm so eager to crack this on my own and therefore would love to guess it as soon as possible without any additional help.
I've been thinking about this non-stop all week in work. TND and TWINE being exempt sounds like such an obvious clue but I can't for the life of me figure it out... yet.

Number of "thank you" 's said?

Time until Bond meets his ally? Given that Wade (TND) and Zukovsky (TWINE) both appear in GE, would that therefore mean they don't count? I'm really grasping at a straw here.

Creative thinking, Stirred, but that's not it I'm afraid. Neither is it thank yous.

I thought of that but he's in the back of the car with M and Moneypenny talking about Elliot Carver.

Number of kills using a certain gun? Walther PPK?
  • Not number of kills

    There's no PPK in MR.

You are right, I think it is also not in DAD...
  • Not the PPK.

(Incidentally, Tomorrow Never Dies is the film where we see Bond switch from using the PPK in the first half to the P99 in the second.)
