"And all attributed to natural causes."

Zorin really thought that was funny.

I like the affectionate gesture Zorin reaches over and gives Mortner.

I was going to count how many times Rogers says :

    "OOOOOORRRRHHHHHHHHHHHH!"

    but I forgot. It's a lot, though.

    Great viewing of VIEW.

Used to be my least favorite film in the series but has climbed the ranks substantially.

    Lots of fun.

I've always had a soft spot for it. Hard to put my finger on exactly why, maybe it's just the right amount of mid-80's cheese combined with the over the top performances. Roger seems to be having a lot of fun with it, too.

And yes, would enjoy keeping a count of how many of those shouts he gives throughout the runtime of it. It's surely a lot.

I have a nostalgia for it. I remember the Sunday afternoon my folks took me to see it.
These days I appreciate it all the more, because it still has that magic that only happens when you have Maibaum, John Barry and Cubby combined.

Nearly halfway through OHMSS and I think it's going to overtake DN in my rankings, which has never happened before. It's no slight on DN, I just find myself appreciating OHMSS even more this go around (which should be impossible - this film is just about perfect).

    POLA IVANOVA!

    JAAAAAAAAAMES BOND.

    Bond with a past girlfriend.

This theme would be elaborated on in TND.

I must say, that Roger and Fiona Fullerton have wonderful chemistry here.

I have a signed picture of them in the hot tub. Signed by both of them 👍

    Controversial opinion:

    I admit................................

I like the fire truck chase.

Controversial for sure! Love the differing opinion though, what makes the chase stand out most for you?

That's a great one. Did you meet in person, buy through BondStars, or other? I was lucky enough to get Richard Kiel in person for my MR poster and shipped it to London to get signed by Rog. Would love to add Fiona Fullerton though. Speaking of, I always thought she had a Bond girl name herself and didn't even need a character name!

I think I will watch AVTAK again for Sir Roger day.

I like the chase as ridiculous as it is, because Roger really sells the fun in the sequence. Tanya Roberts does as well. Also it's not overly long, IMO. Probably could have been trimmed once they cross the bridge, but the cops laughing at the captain's expense is pretty amusing regardless.

No not personally it was a present from someone.

Ok, the Cuban Rum is opened and it's Octopussy tonight.

Wonderful proper gunbarrel and we're into one of the best PTS of the Moore era. Brilliant stuff. Technically superb and exciting.

Just finished it myself - yet another one that delivered one of the best viewings I've had in ages. It's always been an underrated gem for me but it ranks even higher this time around. Not a fan of the in-universe acknowledgement of the 007 theme, the tuk-tuk chase isn't that engaging (just seems to be a checklist of stereotypes and cultural items) and the final assault by Octopussy and Magda is a little cheesy, but it has so much on offer. Love that film.

Agreed, though I think that would've made for an even better PTS. I am a fan of what we got, but the segue in tone between the two scenes is glaring.

The Sotheby's scene. One of my favourites. Moore is so good here.

I feel like I noticed a real jump in quality in the blu-rays starting with MR. Maybe I wasn't really paying attention before but the films really seemed to start popping and shining at that point - at least for the Moore era, anyway.

Lovely little moment for Robert Brown's M as Bond leaves for Deli. A fond little smile....

Yet another great scene with the Blackgammon game. Something Fleming would have come up with. Moore and Louis Jordan are just great.
