Just getting to the scene at Gumbold’s office now, after the nice montage with Bond and Tracy (and the black cat!). All of this is at least as excellent as I remembered.

I love Connery’s Bond, but I really don’t believe OHMSS would be better with him. Lazenby is perfect for this entry.

I tend to think it would have been just as good with Sean. It would have been interesting to see Sean's Bond truly in love and losing his heart. Also Sean against Savalas would have been a great match in casting, IMO. Pity he was so disenchanted with the YOLT experience. OHMSS is great. He missed out on a script which he probably would have loved.

OHMSS had a later release date than previously, so Connery would have had time to get himself back into his TB physique for the ski suits.

Still George is magnificent in the film, especially for a novice actor.

Well, another fun viewing of OHMSS under my belt.
Classic Bond film. In my area today is the last day we're getting hot summer weather. From here on we get into fall. I'll probably be in the mood for some of the cooler weather Bond films like FYEO soon.

Missed the opportunity to do my regular summer Bond film viewing (DN, TB, etc.) this year, and I'm planning a viewing of FYEO and OHMSS later this year instead. Could be interesting!

Perhaps the best hour in Bond history to me is from the moment Savalas Blofeld confronts Bond up until the end of OHMSS.

Everyone has purple wrapping paper on their Christmas presents. Purple has a running theme in this film.
Great observation. Of course, purple is also prominent in the casino scene.

Popping in TLD. It's tied with GE and LTK for the top spot.

For some reason I love the 80s UA logo. Maybe it's the sound.

Gun barrel sequence. I love Tim's walk and pose. Thankfully that little jump he did wasn't used. Good rendition of the theme as well.

So 004 is supposed to look like Lazenby and 002 is supposed to look like Moore? I don't see it. Why don't we see another Double-O who resembles Connery.

    004's scream is chilling.

Dalton's introduction. Damn it's awesome. Possibly even better than Connery and Lazenby. Tie?

    Damn monkeys.

Now THIS is Bond music. Take notes, Thomas Newman.

    Headbutt time.

Watch out, people! This job is hard enough without you getting in the way.

I hope that explosion did the trick.

Real man? Look no further. I'm not talking about Bond, baby. Well, he's cool too.

I would have preferred the dubbing of this dialogue to be the same used in the trailer. Sounded a lot better.

    Outstanding PTS.

The title sequence isn't one of Binder's best but it's fine. Some good looking chicks.

The theme song however is one of my favorites. I hate Sam Smith's falsetto but I love this singers voice. I can never remember his name but he sounds good. Great instrumentation too.

The last girl seen during the title sequence has some really spooky eyes.

OHMSS, don't know why but it's always the first to come to mind. Oh, and George had his birthday the other day, I think.

SP started....for as long as it lasts...i need to see if it beats FYEO or TLD to get off bottom spot.

Czechoslavakia. Looks an awful lot like Vienna. Oh wait...

Dalton looks great in his tux. Good haircut too. Unbelievable how they screwed that up in LTK.

Even the other attendees think Saunders is irritating.

Dalton now all in black and looking moody. This is the moment where I totally bought him as Bond.

Old man? Need to know? I'm sure you understand? What a guy.

Impression that I'm the best? Umm how many 00s have gotten killed? And yet here I stand.

Strawberry is my favorite jam BTW.

Maryam d'Abo isn't one of my favorite Bond girls in the looks department. She's kinda cute though and looks good in her black dress.

This music sounds great on my soundbar.

Does Bond say scrapped or scrubbed?

When I was younger, Rosika reminded me of the principal woman from Matilda. Much more attractive though.

Nighttime scenes while wearing a tux really suit Dalton.

"You're the first". "Ahh". Love it.

What kind of girl do I think you are? No comment.

The pipeline idea is pretty Moore'ish. That's why I like it.

    Q!!

    Way too many stairs.

    I love the cinematography here.

I love Dalton's delivery of "I only kill professionals". Badass.

The pre title sequence is dramatic perfection, cinematic subtle and pure class.

    Universal Exports.

I actually like Caroline Bliss. She's really cute and with a couple more films, probably would have been a perfectly good Moneypenny.

I tried to remember where I'd heard the ghetto blaster music before. It was in Creepshow 2. Cheesy 80s horror at its finest.

    Necros. Great henchman.

    Beautiful location. Really classy.

I love Dalton's facial reactions and body language here.

Controversial opinion:I think Jeroen Krabbe was a great villain. Charming but kind of a douchebag. All about variety with these movies.

The last Bond for Geoffrey Keen.

I like the hiss of smoke.

Great fight with Green Four and Necros. If it had been Bond instead of Green Four, it might have been even better and made Bond's dispatching of Necros during the climax even more satisfying.

    Max from FYEO.

Well, they got Koskov. So much for that coup.

    To be continued.

Tracy mermaid like approaching the roaring ocean, who needs cgi when you have phenomenal cinematography.

@barryt007 watching SP, and @Fire_and_Ice_Returns watching OHMSS. Do wish SP could have been closer in quality to the classic that is OHMSS. Wonder if we'll ever see a proper ski sequence with Craig.

Interesting something I never noticed before when Bond enters the sea to save Tracy there is a oil rig in the background during the long shot, then the rig vanishes in subsequent shots.

Chalk and cheese my friend,OHMSS always between #1-3 with me (currently #1) and SP #24 but battles FYEO (depressing) and TLD (bloody Kara) daily (currently #24)

Bluray on on 4K player and 4K TV getting maximum I can from the film. silhouette of Bond running into the hourglass is one of my all time favourite Bond images.

SP should have been so much better than it is though its littered with constant bad decisions, Craig for me is not great either.

Agreed re SP ,thats why it never moves off #24 compared to Sir Roger's personal performance in FYEO and Tim's in TLD..but i wonder if i cant see the oil-rig on OHMSS as i only have it on DVD ?what do u think old pal ?
