The motorcycle chase is a good mark in the sand for me, as well. Although the ending is pure nostalgic 90s action schlock, and I can easily fall into line with it.

I go back and forth between GE and TND as to which tops the Brosnan era. At the moment it's TND. I far prefer Brosnan in this one, and that perhaps weights more heavily in its favor than any other one item.

I plan on doing a Brosnan era re-watch this month. It's been at least a year since I saw any of his films. Seeing if the preference reconfigures in favor of GE (or who knows...TWINE or DAD) will be interesting.

Casino Royale Watching it on my tablet at work, the intro for DC could not have been better interesting that both DC and PB both chronologically had there first appearance as Bond in Toilets. Great creative choice to shoot the pre title sequence in Black and White.

Kick ass theme kick ass titles, love this film

Never a bad choice. My favorite Bond film ever since I first saw it.

I should rewatch all of OP, but I particularly felt like revisiting the finale. Please don't tell me I'm the only one who laughs at Gobinda and Khan's final screams - especially with how Khan's gets cut off.

    Elliot gets thrashed.

Okay the main pet peeve I had with this climax was the dialogue between Stamper and Bond as they fight. Unnecessary, and too much like a cartoon action sequence from the Transformers TV show or something.
Still, a minor quibble and TND may make a significant leap in my rankings.

I used to think that fight with Stamper was thrilling. Now its pretty laughable. Too much gurning, especially from Stamper.

Started OP. This film is a lot of fun, and has grown on me a lot over the years. The PTS is really fun, and I like All Time High as the title song. So far great stuff.

Skyfall this film lulls me into a false sense of security the first hour or so is pretty good, then the film just falls flat for me I try to like the second half though it's futile.

I love all of SF. Top 5 Bond movie - worth the hype.

One of my favorite parts in OP is the gambling scene between Bond and Kamal Khan. Gobinda crushing the dice was like a nice callback to Oddjob crushing the golfball in GF.

M to Moneypenny 'Shoot bloody Bond' she may as well have said that. ;))

I don't like how weak the script is in the second half of SF, something SP suffers with also it's contrived story telling.

I find it amusing that nonesensically Skyfall is mentioned early in the film and Bond appears avasive, when Bond is actually at Skyfall and burns it down he could not care less. Skyfall means very little in the actual film

Skyfall is Bond’s childhood home. Regardless of Bond’s feelings of the house, it is linked with his character forever because of it being tied to his past. Him losing his parents likely helped lead him to join the service, and that event happened while Bond lived in the house. It being burned down and Bond saying “I always hated this place” to me was like him saying goodbye to his unwanted past and further locking it away. I think it worked - but that’s just me.

The tarzan yell in OP... one of the worst-ever Bond moments. Just so dumb. A lot of people complain about Bond dressing up as a clown in this one, but in context it makes sense. The tarzan yell is the biggest problem I have with this movie. I enjoy OP's lighthearted tone, but something like that is just too much.

I don't mind the yell, personally, given the scene's intention of being a bit of a funhouse ride, with Bond coming across every threat the jungle has to offer in the span of a few minutes.

I just does not work for me at all obviously I am aware what they are trying to do, as a viewer I don't believe it.

I wish it didn't bother me. But boy does it still. Not like it ruins the whole movie or anything - just a moment I really wish didn't happen. In several ways I think OP best represents the Roger Moore era as a whole. Up-and-down, but oh so fun! It ranks in the middle of Moore's 7 for me:

    1. TSWLM
    2. FYEO
    3. LALD
    4. OP
    5. AVTAK
    6. TMWTGG
    7. MR

    YOU ONLY LIVE TWICE

MGM logo ( I wished these Blu-rays would include the original UA logos........oh well)

    GUN BARREL

I love Barry's Bond theme here
I remember the crappy VHS letterboxed version that still got the framing off.

Great Barry music in the PTS

David Bauer was in a TON of Saint episodes with Sir Roger.

    SEAN!

We've HAD some interesting times together, Ling.

I should emphasize certain words like that when I talk.

    Titles!

Still just about my favorite theme song.

I saw this one in 35mm a few years ago and it did not look like the Blu ray. The color timing was completely different, so I have calibrated my television for this one to the warmer MOVIES setting.

A fantastically wonderful Bond film, for sure. the weakest of the '60s entires, but still a Top 11 for me.

Yes indeed. It has such a beautiful score, and cinematography it's hard not to love it.

Sean looks great in uniform. So did Roger for that matter. This would have been a perfect year to see Daniel in the Navy attire.

Lois Maxwell looks quite stunning in this one I must say.

Might I add, Bernard Lee looks the business in his Navy attire. He really did age drastically by OHMSS when compared to this one.

Really at the peak of the '60's spy mania. I can remember the color episodes of Danger Man that were shot around this time had a YOLT feel.
Must have been great to see the Connery films first run.

Saw it at the drive-in in 1968 when I was 6 years old (first on a double-bill with TB). I remember being completely absorbed; fascinated. It wasn't my first Bond film, but it was the first I went into with an understanding of who James Bond was. TB seemed extremely bland, following, at the time. When I asked, my mother told me that the reason that Blofeld (I probably just referred to him as "The Guy with the Cat") seemed like a completely different fella from one film to the next was that TB actually came first. Which didn't help my understanding a damned bit.

Wow! That must have been great! I only got to see these for the first time on the ABC network when they aired Sunday nights. I didn't find TB very exciting back then either, but it grew to be a favorite.
I would have loved to seen these at a drive in.

Bond breaking into the safe.............if this were the Brosnan era, those would be Mickey G's hands in the close ups.

Aki tricks Bond into falling down a trap door.

When I was a kid whenever I slid down a playground slide I pretended I was Sean here.
