Hugh Jackman says He'd be interested in Bond

  • If Jackman were to have been Bond I think his best chance would have been following Brosnan. But that's only if EON had wanted to keep the same tone of films and keep going in the same direction as the Brosnan era. I think that Jackman's (imaginary) run of films would have been an improvement over Brosnan's as they would have been a little more serious although still light. I think that Jackman has more presence than Brosnan and better acting chops so even if the scripts were the same calibre as, say, TND or TWINE he still would have been able to improve the end results with a better performance. But like Dalton with LTK the scripts would have been tailored to Jackman's abilities. Given Jackman's popularity with both men and ladies (he's more manly than Brosnan) I think the box office still would have done extremely well.

I rate CR as my favourite Bond film (just edging out OHMSS and FRWL) so I'm pretty ecstatic that we got Craig. It's hard to picture Jackman in CR; I would like to have seen him in a GE style film, though. But again, if Martin Campbell wasn't directing who knows how it would turn out?

if Wolverine wants to chuck his hat in, I'd like to put my name fwd. I'm tall, dark and have a cruel streak. Some women want to be with me, depends how they charge by the hour, and some men want to be me, again depends on how much I pay them.

I don't sing or dance or kiss men, so babs should like me.

Next step should be to change the thread title and have my name instead.

Breaking news: Forgotmyusername says he'd be interested in Bond.

You have to admit, it has a real ring to it.

Really Jackman knows he has no chance, so the old PR trick whilst launching a new film works again, mention Bond and hey presto a few free headlines and news stories appear to help Real Steel ticket sales around the world.

Jackman would have been my first choice to play 007. I think he has it all - charisma, height, humor, dressing and can do a very good British accent (e.g. Kate and Leopold). He can also be a very good bad ass if he needed to be, like Connery was (watch Wolverine and you'll see what I mean).

Honestly, Craig is a good actor but he fits in the same role at Jason Bourne and other actions heroes. Jackman has all the intangibles that makes 007 stand out from other action heroes. It's too bad that today's generation doesn't get this.

Another Bourne comparison. Wee! I don't see how Jackman fits Bond more than Craig. Craig has great charisma, as you can see in his many interviews. Craig is very humorous as well, as seen again by his interviews. I must say Craig is a nice dresser and fills out a suit like that of Connery in his time. Just because Jackman is good at being BA doesn't mean that he is fit for Bond. Jackman's career at this point so far makes me fit him into the so-called "Bourne" classification with other action heroes. Dan definitely doesn't belong in that group. He brought a fresh take on Bond that sparked interest in the 21st century after DAD flatlined for fans. He isn't just BA, he has acting skill and knows how to portray the characters he plays while still managing to challenge himself as an actor and take risks.

I still stick with my belief that the series is falling.
we are all entitled to our opinions...... even if ther are half-cocked and ludicrous....

while Bond might be struggling in terms of gaming and literature, there isn't one shred of evidence that suggests that he is slowing at the box office.... Brosnan's tenure as Bond saw record setting numbers for his final film Die Another Day - numbers which were then eclipsed 4 years later by Craig and Casino Royale - and Quantum Of Solace fell shy of reaching Royale's numbers, but it wasn't far off....

i believe that is roughly $1.2 billion in 2 films??........ LOL @ slowing
