    By the way, it seems the "Star Trek"-franchise is now officially following the footsteps of the "James Bond"-franchise :-). For the first time a Star Trek-movie has an official theme song. Rihanna performs 'Sledgehammer' for the 13th film "Star Trek Beyond", a very contemporary Sia-esque ballad, witha rousing chorus and an unforgettable melody. And it will probably win an Oscar for 'Best Original Song' too next year :-):

    Really? I am stunned how unpopular Star Trek is in here, compared to the 'almighty', childish Star Wars X(

    "Beyond" is getting some positive feedback.

    And very positive feedback indeed. Current reviews:

    --> 91%: RottenTomatoes, https://www.rottentomatoes.com/m/star_trek_beyond/

    --> 71%: MetaCritic, http://www.metacritic.com/movie/star-trek-beyond?ref=hp

    The critics generally think this is the best of the trilogy when it comes to comradeship and characters. They say that because of that this film feels closest to Gene Roddenberry's original TV Series from the 1960's. And critics also say that this is the "perfect summer blockbuster", that simply is loads of fun and has wonderful action.

    On the other hand, I also read that "Michael Bay has won". The action at times is predictable, and for the 3rd time in the movie franchise history the Enterprise
    gets destroyed
    . There's only a casual hint of moral and ethical content, as most of the film still is one big action videoclip.

    Why would it? It's a poll. You should only need to bump this once a week at most.

    You can't force people to reply to a thread, if anything it puts people off.

    No, but it would have been nice if "Star Trek" deserves two separate topics, one about TV-series and one about Movies.

    I find the discussions in the general "Star Trek" topic unfocused and at times meandering too much from one subject to another.

    I think, and I said it many times, it's better to separate all your ideas and other talk about "Star Trek" into movies and TV-series.
