Maybe he just brought Rachel's along for the meeting...

Any role would her would be nice but at the moment I'll think nothing of it.

Well done finding that news piece @danslittlefinger.

When November gets here, it could well be bang, bang, bang until release. 2012 will then be here and with it being the 50th anniversary year, EON may keep us busy with other things too.

Yes, last Summer, it did seem like the MGM mess could go on forever, thank God it only took six months.
Longest six months of my life. I hear that they will be releasing the final Bond blu-rays in 2012, too, which will be amazing. Been waiting for GE on blu-ray for so, so long.

The good thing is that he's excited, and sounds genuine when he says so, about the prospect of beginning filming on Bond 23. Coupled with the well established crew and finished script, and Bond 23 is in a good place.
Far to often the recent Bonds have had a hurried feel to them as far as production goes, with script re-writes and the like. If Bond 23 is ready to go when shooting begins, then this can only be a good thing. And with a lead actor who is wanting to play Bond and has excitement for it, then this could be a classic Bond.

I agree, @Benny. This COULD shape up to be one of the better Bond films we have had in many, many years.

Many, many years? I considered CR, released only 5 years ago, to be a pretty damn good entry. One of my top 3 favs.

Same here, DoubleOhh, I'm just saying 'one of'. GE sixteen years ago, CR five years ago are definitely in my Top Three.

Craig is more excited about Bond 23 than he was about Casino Royale.

Watch this video all the way through. Favreau is trying to be nice here, but he is lamenting the lack of gadgets and quips in the last two Bond films.
If you listen to his Ironman 2 commentary he lets it be known that the new Bond films are more serious than what came before and he says that's not really a good thing, or words to that effect.
He's trying to get Craig to work with him here on gadgets and a lighter Bond, but Craig's not biting.
I don't agree with Craig at all. With a little bit of imagination it would not be very difficult to come up with some new gadgets. Austin Powers is only an impediment if you let it be.
Truth is, that I think Craig simply doesn't want old style gadgets and quips in his Bond films.

I really do think the gadgets are much harder to conceive in today's modern world. Gadgets are commonplace, with new technology appearing all the time.
I'd rather have no gadgets at all over an invisible car again.
Or have a gadget that's not super high tech, but serves a purpose. But not for the sake of having a gadget. A safe cracker or similar perhaps?

'Gadgets' span such a large possibility. I don't want anymore invisible cars. I miss the days when the watch had multiple features, or simple things like the exploding pen.

I don't know what everyone else thinks, but I wouldn't say 'gadgets' is the right term. As many have said, 'gadgets' are in our everyday lives. What I think we would good to have in B23 is the use of 'tools', which are foremost useful - and perhaps a bit quirky. Also, if we think about it, the job of the quartermaster is to provide equipment, which is exactly what should happen.

Thats about right. I'm not sure how much resistance though Craig might present to "tools." Craig characterizes Quartermaster "Q" as the guy that issues the "guns."
I do hope Craig/Bond does get some new spy tools to use. Then again they might make B23 yet another cell-phone showcase.

I think you'll find the 'remaining' Blu-rays won't match with the ones you already have, so you will own a mismatched collection. All the films (23) will likely follow a new style I would guess.

A bit of a blow for those who already have some.

But another way to look at it, is that there is something to be said for having the original releases of each blu-ray.
Which I believe is CR individually released followed by the Three Paks Volumes 1-3 and the QoS/LTK/TMWTGG 3 pak. This is what I have, as I bought all when they first turned up. So I will be looking to grab the other 9 in their first release format as well.
