    Double post but I am really glad we have Dynamite not only just to fill the film void but to get our fix of well written real James Bond adventures.

    Indeed. They were the right publishers to acquire the license. I'm glad neither DC nor Marvel got possession of it again. DC basically doesn't want it, and Marvel, well, they're going through massive inner conflicts it would have conflicted the Bond IP itself. Not to mention, the possibility of Disney getting hold of either film or literary IP, hah! Don't want it.

    Lord knows how scientifically advanced we are, today, @MajorDSmythe. Some things can even be mutated or created that the public eye is forbidden to see. Area 51 for example. Some just refuse to believe life is stranger than fiction. Now, while I'm not fond of seeing Bond being chased by a dinosaur in a film, it worked perfectly well in the comic book. And it wasn't that long, only in a page or two, and that's that. There was a huge giant man with bulletproof body in Shattered Helix, which I also like. I always preferred my Bond to have some sci-fi elements in it.

    Serpent's Tooth is still one my favorites if not my favorite.

    Hammerhead is recreating a lot of that panache we had with Serpent's just not quite as much of the originality at least so far.
    Too many trinkets from TWINE and PTD for me to dethrone ST.

    But still truly very enjoyable and welcome Bond adventure. Definitely one of my favorites across all mediums.

    In two weeks time, I have a feeling (when the March 2017 solicitations arrive), they're going to announce Benjamin Percy's entry in the James Bond series. I'm hopeful we'll be given a first look at the art and how things will begin to look like for the third story arc. Hammerhead finishes its run in March, while Felix Leiter will be halfway into completion, I've got a feeling the next year is going to be hell of a year for the James Bond comics.

    By the look of it, seems like we'll be having two bond comics running in parallel from here on out. Can't wait to see what Dynamite has in store for us. Exciting times

    And it's not a rumour about the "Bond Begins" thing. Another series of period piece timeline set in the 40s or 50s, before Casino Royale's events, there is a "Year One" story being planned just as Bond earns his 00-status. Just like the modern day James Bond series, there will be a period piece series with a less experienced Bond in the 40s/50s.

A few months ago, a friend of mine told me that Matthew Southworth, the artist, parted ways with Dynamite and is no longer attached to the project. No announcement has been made yet. I won't be surprised if the date is pushed back again to an unspecified schedule and we won't know anything until a proper announcement is made.

    If it were to come out in January, by now we would have seen preview images and interviews. They usually release the cover artwork three months prior to its release. But, we've got nothing yet.

    The Casino Royale graphic novel should look exactly like this. Sure, it's going to be rather expensive, but I'd give every single penny to have a Casino Royale graphic novel with this look. It's not just any other entry in the franchise, it's the Bond bible!

    And, to be honest, I fairly believe this paragraph couldn't be more misleading:
    James Bond: Hammerhead is the series by Andy Diggle and Luca Casalanguida and it feels like a Daniel Craig version of a Bond story. Fast paced, lots of action and modern. While Warren Ellis’ run on the series feels more like a classic Bond with Sean Connery. Both are a lot of fun.

    If anything, Hammerhead is a Pierce Brosnan Bond adventure and the Ellis/Masters run on the series feels more akin to the Craig films.

    And, to be honest, I fairly believe this paragraph couldn't be more misleading:
    James Bond: Hammerhead is the series by Andy Diggle and Luca Casalanguida and it feels like a Daniel Craig version of a Bond story. Fast paced, lots of action and modern. While Warren Ellis’ run on the series feels more like a classic Bond with Sean Connery. Both are a lot of fun.

    If anything, Hammerhead is a Pierce Brosnan Bond adventure and the Ellis/Masters run on the series feels more akin to the Craig films.

    I agree ...Hammerhead is the "film" I wish Brosnan had ended on.

    Beyond that ...fantastic review!! Can't wait!

    Like I said, the graphic novel, especially when it's based on the very first James Bond novel, might be scheduled to come out on 28 May 2018, Fleming's 110th Anniversary.
