Oh my friend I finally read #5. My excitement level for part #6 is off the Bond meter.

I know some have complained that it doesn't feel like Bond. Maybe so but #5 did for me. That conference room with the map just screamed 60's Bond to me.
Bond is hell on cars. He should've taken the Fiat.
    Haha! Indeed!
How could anyone have a car like Bentley Continental GT destroy for crying out loud? :D

That also said, I loved the fight with Dharma Reach and how Bond ruthlessly kicks her into the water all too violently.

As for the war room scene, loved how Bond lost his temper on M. I don't know if it would've screamed 1960s since Bond wouldn't have dared to speak to Sir Miles with that tone, but the whole briefing surely did feel like Classic Bond.

Judging from the anticipated timeline of B25 I'm glad we have this incarnation of Bond to feed our appetites.

I've lost the link but somewhere I read that Bond was the only Dynamite title to break into the top 100 in sells. I was surprised but happy when I read that.

For now, it's only two arcs.

Nice interview. #7 can be my "alternate reality" SP.

It appears Issue #6 won't be coming out until April 20.

I can live with that. They're completing the first arc very close to the planned release dates. So glad for that.

Let's hope that won't be the case for Eidolon. I'm sure a few setbacks has happened since Issue #4 was getting the spotlight due to technical errors, perhaps, I am sure the rest will be handled well, especially when the artist (Masters) is taking a month off to "catch his breath".

I went to my local comics store & looked over the Bond comics, and sad to say the art was pretty flat & unimpressive IMO. I have a few from the past by Mike Grell & Paul Gulacy that I treasure, but to me, it has to look interesting or else I'd rather just be reading a novel....

Wait for the complete edition to come out, @chrisisall. If you put your expectations high issue per issue, you'll be disappointed. It's really slow paced and less colourful than the old ones like Eclipse and Dark Horse series. The artists themselves are unknowns and the only one on board who's famous is Warren Ellis. So I think when the stakes are up in the future, we might get better artists and more well known names on the merchandise.

The fight sequences are story boarded very well for me. I can almost hear the impact.

Yes, the fight sequences are choreographed very well.

I think the art works well enough for the intent. This is a series not a graphic novel.

If Dynamite ever produces a contemporary Bond graphic novel or the planned Fleming period pieces then yea I would hope for more from the artist.

    Just my opinion though.

I wonder when Casino Royale will be ready when the comics editor Joseph Rybandt announced they already have a writer working on the script, which is a period piece. Perhaps after Eidolon? I know Dynamite doesn't publish two separate arcs from the same franchise at the same time.

Will they also make those pre-Casino Royale comics they announced a year and a half ago?

I hope so. At first, I thought VARGR would be it. But, it appears it isn't.

Yes we haven't heard any more about that plan either.

    I'm still happy so far.

And I think Vargr sold well for them.

@mcdonbb, are you aware of the number of copies they sold? It's interesting to know.

Somewhere I read that Bond was their only title to break into the top 100.

I haven't been able to find that quote again.

Obviously performing well enough to continue series.

Sorry for double post but trying to bring attention to thread.

The preview for Vargr #6 is out ...just Google I lost the link.

What I read was awesome and gave me at least another laugh out loud moment. This time with Boothroyd.

I think I'm going to wait till tomorrow to get my copy for it. Finally, the first Bond comic in over 20 years to come to a full circle. :D

I really enjoyed Vargr. I'm looking forward to the next issue and how it will tackle Spectre.
