I looked through all the pages under Bond Movies for any discussion similar to this, but didn't find any surprisingly. Well, the title says it all, so let's hear what you think!

    TB. Because it's the only film in the series that combines the stylish direction of Terence Young from the first 2 films with the lavish, big budget, Panavision widescreen epic appeal of later films such as OHMSS, CR and the Lewis Gilbert films. Plus, it features Connery's Bond at his most superconfident and slickest. He's really at the top of his form here. Plus the most impressive gallery of beautiful women to appear in a single Bond film.

    A very valid back-up, PKK! I agree with you on all of that. Thunderball is definitely a great Bond movie. It's in my Top Ten without a doubt!

    i love From Russia With Love, because it's one of the rare times that I feel like Bond is in danger, and the manner in which Grant stalks 007 throughout the entire movie is stuff that horror movies are made of lol...

    plus i love the idea, of SPECTRE using Bond (unbeknownst to him) as an errand boy to recover the Lector Decoder from a soviet defector..

    I guess because I am a fan of suspense, this film really appeals to me, because it has plenty of it - especially during the climax on the train.. once Grant assumes the identity of Nash, you're sitting there waiting for the moment when he is going to get Bond.. and then you wait, and wait - i literally was pulled to edge of my seat when i first watched this movie when i was 13-14... because it was so different than other Bond movies i had seen.. the others seemed to be big action spectacles, where as this film played things extremely close to chest, and felt more like a thriller than an action/adventure movie..

    it also doesn't hurt when you have a beauty such as Daniela Bianchi... my goodness is she gorgeous - still my favorite Bond girl to date - still amazing by today's standards.

    LTK, for lots of reasons. (this is all imo) The plot was simple but awesome, dalton gave the best performance of the series which was dark and human but you still knew he was bond, it still felt like bond (unlike, say, a certain little film released in 2008 starring daniel craig ;) ) the girls were great, the stunts were great, the scenes were awesome, sanchez is a classic villian and is definetly up there with blofeld, red grant, largo and goldfinger as the best in the series. There are scenes when you really believe bond is going to die, the convoyer belt scene mainly. You know he's gonna be ok but somehow you're still worried if he'll survive or not. This is a great film, but is sadly extremely underrated (just like daltons bond), when I saw the list of what each bond film grossed on a different thread I couldn't believe that this was at the bottom.

    For Your Eyes Only

    It just has that Meditterranean charm. The whole film is sunkissed. And so redolent of a place. You can smell the pine and olives in Greece or the bovine coffee in an icy Cortina.

    The cast is top knotch. Melina Havelock is my favourite Bond girl. A girl who I imagine nowadays works for the Archaeological museum in Athens and campaigns for the return of the Elgin Marbles.

    The story is original and interesting and each of the characters has a motivation and backstory of their own. Even Jacoba Brink has a past and a reason to hate the villain. The whole film reminds me of one of those old Alistair MacLean stories where you dont know who to trust and one party is trying to trip up the other.

    The whole thing seems to suit an ageing Roger Moore and we get a more weary but protective Bond from him.

    And it contains my two favourite action set pieces with the Citreon CV chase through the Spanish countryside and the keelhauling sequence which seems raw and dangerous.

    Love it.

    Casino Royale. It has the strongest plot and the best acting of the series so far.

    * The Dam jump is amazing
    * Pierce Brosnan was excellent
    * Sean Bean was a classic villian
    * the whole setting captures the feel of the cold war that all the other bond films failed to see
    * it feels fresh and orginal with plenty of twists and turns
    * i actually feel sympathy for Alec about his revenge of his parents death
    * Judi Dench did a great job and
    * For England James? No For Me'
    * Brilliant Direction by Martin Campbell
    * Xenia Onatopp
    * The Video game adaption was the greatest FPS on N64 and video game film history

    - Absolutely wonderful PTS.
    - Sean Bean has to be my favorite villain in the entirety of the Bond series - his past connection with Bond made the fights that much better.
    - Branching off the aforementioned stuff about Bean, that hand-to-hand fight they have in the cradle is great.
    - Tons of memorable quotes.
    - Loved the locations.
    - Tank chase = insane.
    - The biggest reason: it was the first Bond film I ever saw. The Bond film that got me into all the others. The Bond film that I watched over and over and over and over again. More than likely, it will forever be my favorite.

    Agree completely with all of this! GoldenEye will always remain my favorite no matter what Bond movies come along the way. It's just too good to refuse!

    You know I will always be here. But I wonder, since you and I are part of this slight minority, are there any out there who find Bond films such as DAD to be their favorite?

    Well, I haven't seen any yet, but I do know that DaltonCraig007 speaks more highly of DAD then some of the other members here. His favorite is TMWTGG, but I'm pretty sure he said that DAD was in his top ten, which is more than the majority of fans here can say!

    Aside from Bond's entrance and some of his one-liners, such as "Saved by the bell," the former half of DAD is entertaining. The train station sequence is very meh, but other than that, the film really loses its flavor when Bond arrives in Iceland. Just WAY too cheesy for me at that point.

    Yes indeed! The first half is very good, but once Iceland kicks in, we get a throwback to DAF and MR. Plus, Jinx comes back to haunt us!

    Those are my feelings on CR, but I hope this time 9 months I'll be raving that Skyfall is my eternal favorite. Things look pleasing so far!

    Great girl, the only girl that could make Bond pop the question
    Great and believable plot (biological warfare)
    Great cinematography
    Beautiful scenery and the action on the ski slopes
    A unique film that shows a different side to Bond--not until CR in 2006 was the Bond character ever taken so seriously. (the scene when he was fleeing SPECTRE agents and his feeling of being at the end of his rope during the Christmas festival, not since FRWL did we ever believe Bond was in any real danger. )
    Best soundtrack
    A classic ending, heart wrenching but powerful
    Fantastic and exciting climax during the battle on Piz Gloria

    For me it's Live And Let Die as it was my very first Bond movie! The villains were so memorable! Kananga! Tee Hee! Whisper! and my personal favourite Baron Samedi! 8-X ahh ha aha haa ha ha!!!!!!
    Then their is the beautiful Jane Seymour with her Tarot card predictions! Roger's best outing for me as 007 knowing what i know now, great sequences, and without a doubt one of the great scores by George Martin! Which is quite an achievement considering how much i loved John Barry's work.
    So i am hoping for the best now we have left David Arnold for atleast 1 film. Nothing against him but now this has happened? I am hoping for a modern day George Martin moment in the music again!

    I think you are the first one on this forum to have LALD as your favorite! I myself like LALD a good bit, and agree wholeheartedly about the villains and the score. These were the two big strengths of LALD for sure. One thing that bugged me the last time I watched it was the action scenes. They were kind of bland and boring, like the airport chase and the double decker bus chase. They weren't very exciting and lacked the energy necessary to keep the movie going. As for the boat chase, I never have like it a whole lot. It's a little drawn out and doesn't have anything exciting like machine guns or explosions. However, the ending is one of my favorites, with Bond vs. Tee Hee to the death! That's an excellent climax.

    This is a tuff one for me. At times I feel it's Goldfinger and at other times I feel like it's Goldeneye.

    Goldfinger:
    * It was the first Bond movie I watched from start to finish
    * The scene when Bond is tied to the table with the laser pointed at him.
    * His car :D
    * I liked how Bond was allowed to run around at Goldfinger's ranch. It was just different.
    * The finale fight with Odd Job
    * The plot

    Goldeneye:
    * It was my first Bond on VHS
    * It had the Goleneye video game to go alone with it (and years later a remake)
    * I have many fond memories of watching it
    * I like Alec as a villian
    * The finale fight with between 007 and 006

    There is a lovely selection of James Bond films that I really like, but I can't help but feel that Tomorrow Never Dies was my favourite. To me, its a traditional yet modern Bond film. It also has my favourite Bond Girl in it too, Paris Carver. I would love it if one of the newer films explores the relationship they had before this film.

    Other favourites include A View To A Kill, GoldenEye and The Spy Who Loved Me

    You Only Live Twice

    Is it the best Bond-movie? No! But it was the first Bond-movie I saw in the cinema with my dad, and I'm still blown away by the visuals, the wonderful Barry-score and the final climax in the huge Ken Adam stage which will probably never be outdone.

    Honorable mention goes to Moonraker. If only one Bond-movie was released in an IMAX-theatre, this should be it!

    Wow, we think alike! I myself love GoldenEye, Tomorrow Never Dies, The Spy Who Loved Me, and A View to a Kill. However, you'll find guys like us in a small minority on AVTAK and TND.

    From Russia With Love. While Dr. No - and even Goldfinger feels like adventure-stories, FRWL got this cold war suspence that makes the film stand out from the rest. The story is very solid, and more realistic than several other Bond-plots. Actually, I come to think of, the story almost get lost between all the suspence of the action sequences, especially the train scene with Red Grant.

    FRWL also has some great locations; Hagia Sophia especially. As a Hitchcock-fan I really like the helicopter scene as well, with North By Northwest being my Hitchcock-favourite.
