    For what it's worth, Forever is the only Batman film i've seen on the big screen. It's not.... bad, but it is where things started to go south for the series. As someone who knows a little more about Batman than the average person on the streets, the two Burton/Keaton films are my favourites. Whether they are accurate depictions of Batman or not, is not for me to say.

    I do like the score to Batman Forever just put it on now, though I am a fan of Elliot Goldenthal's work.

    Got to take my kids to see Batman '89 this weekend. I was worried they wouldn't be as impressed as 1) they've seen it before 2) we saw Avengers: Endgame the night before, but they loved it. I gave them a history lesson on 1989 as context prior to the show. My daughter is actually the same age I was when it came out. The white balance seemed too hot and I'm not sure if that was the projector's calibration or the source (I'm assuming it was the 4k version as it certainly didn't have any wear or scratches in the image for a 30 year old movie.) Wish I could see the others, but I work every day they screen. If Burton is adapting 30's and 80's Batman, then Schumaker is doing big budget 40s-60s era. When I look at it through that prism, Forever and & Robin are easier to digest.

    Batman Forever is a rather schizoid film--the "serious" parts jostle uneasily with the campy bits. It's like Schumacher knew he had to pay lip service to the darkness of the earlier films, but his heart wasn't in it. And he didn't get much out of his actors either--none of the performances rise above mediocrity. Jim Carrey and Tommy Lee Jones give what might be the worst performances of their careers. Camp has to be played straight-faced to be effective, but Jones overacts wildly.

    Batman Forever is terrible. IMO, only slightly better than Batman and Robin. You know it’s awful when the “best” villain from those 2 films is Jim Carrey just playing Jim Carrey.

    Schumacher's appology on the Batman and Robin documentary says it all, it was all about selling toys.

    Of course Schumacher's films are naff, though in no way do I take them seriously. Batman throughout the decades has had numerous variations on a theme some better than others, some exceptional though I like them all in different ways.

    I still don't get why we cant have a batman show and before someone points out WB wanting batman to e a film franchise... clearly they don't as Reeve's Batman film (much like Affleck's) keeps going into rewrites and junk I cant be the only one who would want a serious live action Batman series

    After watching both Batman 66 and Batman TAS in full, I definitely prefer TAS. Between it being a generational thing and taking more respect of it's characters and settings. However, some of Batman 66's best episodes are definitely better than TAS' worst.

    Batwoman was quite naff in the crossover episode, and CW shows have got a lot worse recently I am not enthusiastic about the new show.

    I think I heard that before, but thanks for reminding me. Both are near and dear to my heart, for their own reasons.

    I imagine Batwoman is filling the void Arrow will leave this winter and as much as I’ve loved Arrow, I’m ready for the change.

    I just don’t get what happened to Arrow to be honest season 1 and 2 were great then season 3 happened and I left because they killed Caity lots character (who I had a huge crush on) I hear season 4 was better but any reason why the producers went nuts?

    As for batwoman I will give it the three episode try like I did with Gotham but if it’s as bad as Gotham’s first three episodes I am not gonna be happy

    After rewatching the first four films for the first time in years, my opinions have changed a bit.

    1. Batman (1989) - still my favorite Bat film. Jack Nicholson and Michael Keaton make it so. I can see why I watched this so much as a kid. It's a classic. 9.5/10

    2. Batman Forever - NOT a great film by any means but it entertained me. I actually watched an altered cut which rearranges the first act and includes some deleted scenes. Makes for a better, darker film. Also, I think Val Kilmer was the second best Batman. The more colorful approach was actually kind of refreshing, I didn't mind Robin, and Nicole Kidman is one of the sexiest women I've seen. All that being said, it's too cheesy at times, the Bat nipples are unforgivable, and I didn't care for the villains. 7/10

    3. Batman Returns - I couldn't watch this all the way through. Keaton is great, I adore Michelle Pheiffer as Catwoman, and the Christmas setting is cool. Other than that, I just don't care for this movie. It's an odd mixture of it being too hokey and too dark and grim. Like others have said, it's just too much of a Burton film. I'm not a fan of most of his films. I'd only watch this again if I was going though them with a friend. 5/10

    4. Batman & Robin - lol okay I actually loved this as a kid but I didn't rewatch it because I just KNOW it's gonna be terrible. The clips I've seen recently confirm that. I do love Alicia Silverstone though. 3/10
