Thank you kind sir. It's the highest I've ever ranked it. Like OHMSS, it's a film that just keeps getting better for me with time. Stripped down bare bones perfection, with very little superfluous filler. I don't think that top 10 of mine is going to change any time soon.

I like the fact your top 10 is so varied @bondjames! Every actor has at least one entry in there.

Thanks @GoldenGun. I have always enjoyed at least one film from each actor immensely. They've all had standout films in my view. It's going to be tough when Bond #007 is announced because I'm almost certain his first will get into my top 10 at release.

Here's a ranking of my go-to Bonds. There are some Bond films I can watch countless times per year and continue to do so. Others as great as they may be, I have to be in the right mood for. In addition, some Bonds make me in the mood for others and a marathon begins. Let's see where it ends up.....................

    1. DR NO
    2. OCTOPUSSY
    3. THE LIVING DAYLIGHTS
    4. GOLDFINGER
    5. A VIEW TO A KILL
    6. THE SPY WHO LOVED ME
    7. THUNDERBALL
    8. NEVER SAY NEVER AGAIN
    9. DIAMONDS ARE FOREVER
    10. LIVE AND LET DIE
    11. LICENCE TO KILL
    12. FOR YOUR EYES ONLY
    13. ON HER MAJESTY'S SECRET SERVICE
    14. FROM RUSSIA WITH LOVE
    15. CASINO ROYALE 06/ CR 54
    16. GOLDENEYE
    17. TOMORROW NEVER DIES
    18. MOONRAKER
    19. YOU ONLY LIVE TWICE
    20. QUANTUM OF SOLACE
    21. THE WORLD IS NOT ENOUGH
    22. SKYFALL
    23. DIE ANOTHER DAY
    24. THE MAN WITH THE GOLDEN GUN
    25. SPECTRE

    26. CASINO ROYALE 67

My “Go-Tos” line up pretty closely with my ranking. My Top 8, DN, FRWL, GF, OHMSS, TSWLM, GE, CR, and SF, probably get more attention than all the others for me.

May I ask what is meant by "Go-to"? Does this mean films that one is more likely to view, or view most often, regardless of how one feels about them? Those with rewatch value for a particular member?

    That's how I see it .

    Thanks.

Then I'd probably have this list as my go-to for now (it changes):

    1. FYEO *
    2. DN *
    3. OHMSS *
    4. QoS *
    5. LTK *
    6. TLD *
    7. OP *
    8. SP ^^
    9. DAF *
    10. MR *
    11. NSNA ^^
    12. GF ^^

    * - great repeat viewing value even if some aren't my faves.
^^ - more for curiosity or because I haven't seen them as much and am trying to appreciate them more. These could drop down in time.

Films I really enjoy like SF, TMWTGG, TSWLM, GE, TB & FRWL are kept for special occasions, so I view them less regularly.

For me, yes. I look at go-to's as the Bonds I tend to pop in more often, am more often in the mood for, and that consistently hits the spot each time. Regardless of how I feel they rank quality, or story wise.
For instance AVTAK, was at the very bottom for me for quite a long time (until the Brosnan era), yet these days I find it one of the most repeatedly entertaining.

My go-to Bond films, every few years, are the first sixteen and the latest four.

Thanks. AVTAK is one I've never been able to get into but I realized that the other four of Glen's do make my 'go-to' list above, even though I only rank LTK as a top 10. He did make exciting and fun films.

Only FYEO makes my top ten of the Glen films, but the Dalton films are close.

I just finished my most drawn out Bond-A-Thon to date; almost three months. For all I know nothing has changed. Here we go.

    1. GOLDFINGER (1964)
    2. FROM RUSSIA WITH LOVE (1963)
    3. ON HER MAJESTY’S SECRET SERVICE (1969)
    4 CASINO ROYALE (2006)
    5. DR. NO (1962)
    6. LIVE AND LET DIE (1973)
    7. THE SPY WHO LOVED ME (1977)
    8. THUNDERBALL (1965)
    9. QUANTUM OF SOLACE (2008)
    10. GOLDENEYE (1995)
    11. SKYFALL (2012)
    12. YOU ONLY LIVE TWICE (1967)
    13. FOR YOUR EYES ONLY (1981)
    14. LICENCE TO KILL (1989)
    15. THE MAN WITH THE GOLDEN GUN (1974)
    16. DIAMONDS ARE FOREVER (1971)
    17. THE LIVING DAYLIGHTS (1987)
    18. OCTOPUSSY (1983)
    19. DIE ANOTHER DAY (2002)
    20. A VIEW TO A KILL (1985)
    21. MOONRAKER (1979)
    22. TOMORROW NEVER DIES (1997)
    23. THE WORLD IS NOT ENOUGH (1999)
    24. SPECTRE (2015)

Though our placements aren't identical, we definitely have the same general thinking of what the better and weaker Bond films are. A couple somewhat significant differences, but nothing too drastic. Great list!

Nice list @Birdleson. I think we differ most on OP (which I have much higher) and QoS (which I have lower on my official ranking but have as a top 10 in my 'go-to' due to its entertainment value).

@GoldenGun, it's good to see the TLD love. It's a film (along with GF) which I most differ with the community about. I'm due a rewatch soon to see if I can re-evaluate it positively.

Seeing as this is my first ranking posted here on this wonderful forum, I'm just going to preface this by saying that the Terence Young Bond films have always been my favourites, Sean Connery has always been my favourite Bond, and that Goldfinger or From Russia With Love have always jostled for my number one spot:

    1. Casino Royale (2006)
    2. Goldfinger (1964)
    3. On Her Majesty's Secret Service (1969)
    4. The Living Daylights (1987)
    5. For Your Eyes Only (1981)
    6. The Spy Who Loved Me (1977)
    7. Skyfall (2012)
    8. GoldenEye (1995)
    9. Tomorrow Never Dies (1997)
    10. Licence To Kill (1989)
    11. From Russia With Love (1963)
    12. Dr. No (1962)
    13. Quantum of Solace (2008)
    14. Octopussy (1983)
    15. Live And Let Die (1973)
    16. Thunderball (1965)
    17. Moonraker (1979)
    18. You Only Live Twice (1967)
    19. Diamonds Are Forever (1971)
    20. The Man With The Golden Gun (1974)
    21. Spectre (2015)
    22. A View To A Kill (1985)
    23. The World Is Not Enough (1999)
    24. Die Another Day (2002)

As you can see, this has not just been a mere tectonic shift, but a Max Zorin Silicon Valley-esque superearthquake for myself - to put it mildly, it's certainly interesting.

@Thunderfinger I think I've become a John Glen convert to be quite honest - and as my name and avatar do suggest I've always been a great defender of Tomorrow Never Dies it's such an enjoyable film to watch.

Not a defender of TND myself, but I do appreciate Schiavelli.

Some similarities to my list, most notably CR at #1 and GE at #8. Biggest differences would be TB, LALD, DN, and FRWL; all of those are in my Top 10 as of now. But I like that list. We definitely agree what the general weakest entries are.
