    Thank you @FoxRox; as I said I've always loved the Young films so having them in the middle there is really strange to me - I chalk it up to oversaturation; they're the ones I watch the most, so I found myself just passively watching them, whilst actively looking for the positives in pretty much everything else (if that makes sense).

    And funnily enough LALD has never been in my top ten (it's normally been around 12th placed), but I do always enjoy watching it, mostly for Moore's performance.

    Thanks @Birdleson; TB and LALD's placing are really the worst casualties of how anomalous this watch has been for me - although LALD has always been around eleventh or twelfth placed in my eyes, the lowest TB has been before this is seventh, so it's a great shame where it has ended up.

    And I happily admit SP's placement is definitely being generous - it ended up at 21st entirely due to my renewed appreciation for Hoyte van Hoytema's cinematography, and also because I felt the Rome sequence (up until 'Cuckoo') was remarkably well directed, lit, and acted; I think the whole concept of classic Bond mixed with a little bit of Eyes Wide Shut is really interesting, and I'm a big fan of the whole business with the whispering and holding off on letting Waltz speak - it's wonderfully suspenseful and a great introduction to the modern incarnation of SPECTRE. If the rest of the film had captured something of that mood, instead of going off on awful personal tangents, it could have been excellent.

    @ThighsOfXenia thanks. RE: TB, I'm sure it's a temporary decline on account of an atypically less than perfect viewing (I must have just been tired). I like too many things about that film for it to be out of the top five for long.

    @DrKaufman, that is a neat list. It's nice to see FYEO in the top 10. That's a film I see many times in the 11-15 spot in member's rankings for some reason, along with LALD. Hoping to see the great FRWL move back up in time.

    OP and Skyfall do have things to like about them, but they aren't among my favourites as you can see.

    QOS I flat out dislike, along with TWINE.

    OP: It's an ok, solid film. I think the location of India was somewhat wasted. I find Khan to be a little too understated but Orlov to be far too hammy. There is just something missing in this one for me. It neither has the lavish beauty of TSWLM or MR, nor the intrigue of FYEO. Just missed the mark.

    Skyfall: It does have a lovely atmosphere, particularly in Shanghai and Macau. Very well shot too. I just find it to be extremely pretentious, a cardinal sin for me in a Bond film. The much lauded villain Silva felt like a weaker rehash of The Joker from The Dark Knight, particularly in the character beats(having an issue with the authority figure rather than the hero, getting caught intentionally, a feeling of random actions) I also think Bond being out of touch and burnt out just a few years(and presumably missions) after CR frankly ridiculous.

    QOS: My dislike of QOS is strongly linked to my love of CR. It just feels like such a missed opportunity. I despise the editing, the pace of the film feels rushed.Green has virtually no screen time.The only moment it takes to breath is The Tosca scene, which is pretty much the only part I like.

    All fair points and I can see where you are coming from with the 2 points I have highlighted above.
    Orlov is over-acting in parts but just makes me laugh for it,i think Berkoff was high on weed during filming !!

    But yes,i hate the idea of this burnt out Bond after just 2 films (and they were based on the same day with the end of CR and the PTS of QOS ).
    He cant just suddenly be burnt out and 'old dog new tricks','Its a young mans game','both played out' etc,so I fully support you on that .

    The whole idea of Bond being burnt out isn't a terrible idea for Craig's Bond. I just think it was way too soon (3 films in? Come on.) and that it should have been saved for his last film.

    If there had been a film between QOS and SF showing Bond in his prime, then I don't think it would be so jarring.

    Exactly. Continuity never mattered before the Craig films. However, that's no longer the case unfortunately.

    Another ranking very soon after the last. My most recent viewings of some of the Bonds have elevated those films. My least appreciated Bond, SP is gradually climbing it's way up the ladder.
    Also AVTAK has made it's way into my top 10 just pushing OP down a bit. Seems I like the Bond actors' respective 1st, 5th, 6th and 7th outings close together. Interestingly, five of the 1st outings are ranked together and are now in my top 10.

    It was my number one all throughout the Brosnan era, actually. Back then, due no doubt to Claudine Auger. It's always remained at least a top 10 for me, but tonight's viewing elevated it to first place.

    @Birdleson I hope I’m right too.

    @ToTheRight I like to see that kind of love for TB. It’s an absolutely excellent Bond film. Connery is in top form, and it has my favorite overall collection of Bond girls and is probably the second-best depiction of the SPECTRE organization after FRWL. Also one of the best soundtracks of the series I believe. Can’t go wrong with it.

    Thunderball is a top 10 entry for me, but not top 5. I agree about Connery though. He was at his absolute swaggering best in this one.

    I would argue this is probably the most 'Bond like' performance in the whole series.

    TB is also a perfect cross between the styles of FRWL and GF I think. I definitely can respect the choice to have it as the #1 Bond film.

    I'm a huge TB fan too. Just an exceptional Bond film all round. My respect, admiration and appreciation for it began far before many of the other Bond films which occupy my top 10.

    As a kid I used to watch it from time to time on cold, dark, rainy autumn nights in London after school and it whisked me away vicariously to sunnier climates and locales, providing respite. I actually became an avid swimmer on account of the film.

    Baywatch did the same thing (loved that show).

    Struggled with my listing this time after an extended Bondathon. I love all the Bond films in varying degrees. I don't dislike any.
    GE was the biggest drop and LTK the suprising riser.
    SP is a difficult one to place at the moment.

    I feel a lot of the films from the 60's, 70's and 80's had much more of an entertaining fun factor. The last 20 years or so seem to have lost that somewhat.

    @LeonardPine -- that's a pretty solid top 10!
    @Benny-- interesting top ten, where I'm with you on most, and find your number four refreshing. I like OP and I think it's Moore's best. However, I don't think it could find itself inside my top five, but I'm glad there's someone out there giving it this kind of love, lol!
