Good morning my golden retrievers. Looks like Dynamite has announced a new comic and this one will be a movie tie in. Well kind of. It looks to be set between Spectre and Bond 25.

    Synopsis:
"The death of a British agent sends James Bond to the mountains of Hokkaido where the last report his colleague made had come from, leading to the discovery of a small village the world has not heard of. As suspicions arise, Bond unearths a scheme that a global consternation was to come around and revive the old tribe of Shogunate using unorthodox means that oversee a supernatural existence in the heart of terror."

Looks like a must have for sure.

Aaron Campbell is doing it, so I wouldn't expect anything less than brilliance. He also did the interior art for Felix Leiter. :D

Interesting! Liked how the Blood Stone video game gave us some Bond material between QoS and SF, and this time we'll get a movie tie-in comic book (sort of)!

Holy crap, just did a random search and did find that this comic may actually be real! A reddit post said that, at a British cinema talk/Q&A that Danny Boyle gave early this weekend he teased that he and his screenwriter's work with Bond may extend beyond just doing Bond 25's script. He very cryptically said that they were working on "supplemental" material as well that would connect to their film script somehow, and after seeing this, this comic may indeed be that material. Maybe we'll find out that Dynamite had a talk with EON and had Boyle and Hodge team up with the comics writers to do a prequel comic set before Bond 25! Pretty unprecedented if true.

Finally! It appears that Redditer's writings have precedent in truth!

So, that's why Dynamite was so silent in the last few months. They have been striking some deals behind the scenes, and came to terms with Danjaq, it seems. Hopefully, this will open more marketing doors for the franchise. I do miss the old days of decent tie-ins.

The Japan location also makes me wonder if this is foreshadowing a Bond 25 featuring the garden of death, the thing I really want to see adapted into the franchise badly. It'd make for such a great location and bring so much mood and atmosphere!

And if EON signed off on this comic set before Bond 25, maybe we can assume that they already like what Boyle and Hodge have written and already want their script to be the next film's story.

I wonder if Blofeld will make an appearance. I'm pretty excited at the idea of a movie tie in comic.

Just looked it up. Apparently, it's Lee Carter. Love his work, and I'd like the guy to work on the interior of a Bond comic, as well! :D

That's the first thing that popped up on my mind. Perhaps there's something to take place there which is to lead to a faithful YOLT adaptation. Maybe this "supernatural element" is a superstition started by Dr. Shatterhand, perhaps? Dr. No and his dragon comes to mind.

And the people of that area are sort of enslaved by fear due to Shatterhand and his crafted legend. I really love the idea of that. Bond would be the white westerner in an eastern land, confronting the superstitious tendencies of a group in a continent culturally removed from his own.

I wonder what effect this will have on other releases, as we thought we'd get announcements for the prequel war comics first. And this release is coming much before Bond 25 releases, which makes me think EON also have confidence in hitting their late 2019 release date. I wonder how many issues we'll get?

I know we'll be getting a six-issue miniseries as that's Dynamite's standard comic release for a miniseries, unless it's a on-off, which I don't think it is, judging by the fact CBR placed a #1 before the first solicitation. I'm guessing we'll be getting a more organized and less forced parallel three timelines in the meantime, which will be James Bond (and its one offs, standalone miniseries and spinoffs), War Years and the film canon.

...And I haven't asked how many arcs will be getting in each, yet.

Does Danny Boyle or the presumed writers of this film Bond comic have a Twitter? Could be wise to throw a few questions their way.

Couldn't find anything on Boyle. Only did a quick Google search, though.

Well I do hate to be the bearer of bad news but the jig is up as it were. You could say I had a "hidden agenda" of my own. You see, I made both of those covers last year for a bit of fun and I was going to post them after I made them but I got the idea to save them in the back of my mind for such an occasion I'd probably never have again. You've been duped. Sorry for the disappointment my friends. I'm a cheeky one. :D

Am I correct in saying that we've got
    - the rest of "Body"
    - Hidden Agenda
    - Casino Royale
    to look forward to?

    Any other titles?

That was just an April fools as Murdock mentioned above ;)

As for new title, thats it at the Moment saddly.
I am pretty confident we will get a new series announced this month around the 20th, when Dynamite will release their July solicitations.
