    After SP I have the urge to undo the damage and watch SF, but arrghhh......I just can't stand another two hours of that bloody noise called score from Newman.

    Starting the John Glen / Timothy Dalton era in my backwards Bondathon now with Licence to Kill. This one has stayed in my Top 10 since I can remember; a longtime personal favorite. I feel confident it can do well again.

    Barring the music (not horrible, but not very good), I like this PTS. It's quite unique and engaging. We're introduced to the main villain very early, and he's one of the best in the franchise.

    I love the music on the gun barrel on LTK. Dynamic and dangerous.

    Not the best title song, but not my most hated either. Not very memorable, same for the credits.

    @Major_Boothroyd I agree. It's one of the series' best gunbarrels IMO. TLD is up there too, but I actually prefer LTK's because of the epic music choice.

    The revenge angle in LTK works because Bond fans know Felix well by this point. We don't get to see much of Della so that emotional impact isn't as strong, but it's strong enough because of Felix's character and his relationship with Bond.

    I like the brief reference to Tracy as Bond leaves Felix and Della.

    Now the ambush by Dario and disturbing torture of Felix. I think this is still the darkest Bond film of all.

    It is interesting how, while not quite the same, Felix's wife was killed the same day as her wedding like Tracy was.

    Sharkey is a great ally. A shame he doesn't last longer. This upcoming sequence where Bond and him break in is really good.

    I like Dalton's performance in this film. I have said before he is my least favorite of the 6 EON Bond actors, but still, that's really only because I like the other 5 more, and not saying he's a bad Bond.

    Robert Brown is my least favorite M, but he has my favorite turn as M in this movie. Good scene with Bond (farewell to arms). I'm probably in the minority but I've always preferred LTK over TLD. The villains no doubt help with that. But TLD does have the better soundtrack.

    Always loved the Dalton Bond moment. Nothing will stop him from taking down Sanchez and avenging Felix and Della. He gets even more fuel seeing Sharkey go down.

    This is the best viewing I've had of LTK in a while, and that's impressive since it's a Top 10 entry for me to begin with. I have a few minor nitpicks, but not much else. It will stay high. A lot more uncertainty about TLD, which has been in the middle of my lists for a long time.

    Now the casino sequence. More great stuff. There are not many scenes in the movie that I don't enjoy. Despite some early changes, the thing that remains consistent in my Bondathon is that my favorites stay strong.

    Q's appearance in LTK is also one of my favorite Q appearances in the series.

    In some ways, LTK sort of feels like the final "classic" Bond film before the "modern" era began with GE and Brosnan. Definitely a noticeable transition.

    I agree. Makes it a Top Three gun barrel for me.

    It is very fitting for the film, and it stands out as a distinct one. Very cool mood.

    I never liked Kamens score but i love the title song. Gladys Knight was a great choice and she really belts the theme out! Pity about Binders credits. He didnt finish on a high!
    Robert Brown is the next best M after Bernard Lee. I liked Dench only in CR and QOS!
    As a Dalton fan l adore both his films. Love TLD mainly because its more a 'Spy' film with Russians, defections and they adapted Flemings short story really well etc, whereas LTK is a bloody great thriller, well told and after OHMSS, has the most exciting action climax of the series!

    Glady's Knight's song is superb and I'm one of the few (probably) who quite likes Patti La Belle's If You Asked Me To as well, although I can appreciate it doesn't suit the film. Certainly better than Celine's 'strangling a cat' version.

    The GB tune is killer. One of the best imho, along with LALD, GE & FYEO. I've always preferred the 70s/80s/90s one-off composer's GB's to Barry's for some reason. Very distinctive and edgy - all of them.

    I find it a bit generic too to be honest. Not bad, but against a lot of the other Bond songs it seems very routine.
