FRWL destroys QOS with ease though.
I did not intend to criticize you... I was just curious why it FRWL was chosen a few times in a row...
Don t worry, it has twenty more matches to go, but we will soon do something else, mate.
FRWL
The second one is a tad closer, as QOS is a couple of spots above GE in my rankings, but:
FRWL
QoS doesn't compare.
FRWL wins both.
FRWL over QOS; an actual spy thriller over a pretentious film that just wants to be one.
FRWL is ahead of QoS though.
QOS is just a Bond film that I find hard to enjoy. Craig is fine, and for the most part the performances are fine. But the film as a whole does nothing for me. A big step back after the wonderful CR.
Therefore
FRWL beats GE
FRWL easily beats QOS
FRWL vs QOS
Even though GE is my favourite Brosnan film and I really enjoy QoS - especially after re-viewing it a week ago.
FRWL beats QoS with ease. QoS is rising in my estimation, but still in the late teens to early 20s
FRWL beats GE 17-5
and
FRWL beats QOS 22-0
Round 8:
Introducing the rest of the Moore films
TSWLM vs FYEO
and
FYEO vs AVTAK
Introducing the rest of the Moore films
TSWLM vs FYEO
and
FYEO vs AVTAK
Spy is a great fantasy action Bond film but FYEO brings more of the Fleming seasoning.
and
FYEO vs AVTAK: FYEO
Except in terms of music and pure sexual attraction by the female lead, FYEO outdoes AVTAK in every possible category.
TSWLM, a perenial Top Six vs. a mid-teen entry.
FYEO, a mid-teen entry (which still falls under the Very Good category) vs. a high-teen/low-20s.
I am With you!
FYEO over AVTAK: AVTAK has grown on me over time, but it's still one of Moore's weaker entries. FYEO, one of his best, takes it easily.
FYEO is my least favorite Bond film so the others take it by default.
You rat!
FYEO
You've probably explained why and I just don't remember, but that seems an odd choice for the bottom spot. Regardless of the fact that I like it pretty well, it does have a few major problems, but it seems that any issue that FYEO does have is worse elsewhere.
Roger? He does a great job in this one.
Story? There is a lot of great Fleming in this one. And a Tracey call back!
There is some silliness (parrot, hockey, Thatcher), but that definitely gets trumped in MR and OP.
Weak chemistry between Bond and the Bond Girl? There's enough of those to go around. The action is pretty strong. Weak villain? Yes. Weak score, but there are worse.
I can see it not being a Top 20, but I'm surprised that anyone would put it rock bottom. Is it just a general boredom? That's why my number 24 is at the bottom.
And
FYEO
