Darn I wish I lived near Suffern New York. YOLTis the Bond film that I most want to see on the big screen. I've only ever seen it once on the big screen and that's when I was 12 years old.
But June 11th is a fair way off. Still time to maybe organize a trip.

Screening: "Goldfinger" (1964) - TCM Classic Film Festival
Location: Grauman's Chinese Theatre (Digital Cinema), Los Angeles, CA, USA
    Date: Sunday 1st May 2011
    Time: 12:30

With the third James Bond film, composer John Barry, who passed away earlier this year, established the series' musical legacy. As previously, he used Monty Norman's James Bond theme (which he had first arranged for 1962's Dr. No), to set up Sean Connery's stylish, dangerous leading character. But when he added jazzy brass to reflect the title villain's plot to rob Fort Knox, he gave Bond his first of many hit soundtrack albums. He also gave the series its first chart-topping title song, with pop diva Shirley Bassey wailing her way through musical lines as seductive as the lure of wealth and power. Starting with GOLDFINGER, the Bond films would become noted for title tracks by top performers like Paul McCartney, Madonna and A-Ha. Barry's score isn't the only reason this is consistently hailed as the best of the Bonds. In the first of his four Bond films, Guy Hamilton, who attends this screening, brought a glossy, fast-moving style that reeked of sophistication. GOLDFINGER also features two of the series' best villains, Gert Fröbe in the title role and Harold Sakata as hired muscle Odd Job, as well as two of the most alluring Bond girls. Shirley Eaton creates an indelible gold-plated image, while Honor Blackman's Pussy Galore is one of the few leading ladies who can match Connery blow for blow and clinch for clinch.

    Event: James Bond Film Festival
    Location: Mayfair Theatre, Ottawa, Canada
    Date: January 8th 2012 - January 31st 2012

007 returns to the big screen in Canada's Capital with the Mayfair Theatre's fourth annual James Bond festival.

    <img src="">;

Known as Ottawa's home of stuff you won't see anywhere else, the Mayfair, located on Bank Street (south of the Canadian Parliament) is Ottawa's oldest theatre. Opened in 1932 it currently screens anything from independent films, to classics and current releases which are no longer screening at nearby megaplexes. The theatre's age adds charm to any movie goers experience. The ornate columns and balconies add nostalgia and the select areas with couches instead of theatre seats give a sense home style comfort for families and friends.

Now that James Bond returns, Bond fans in the area can experience a classic double-oh double bill that will restore the golden James Bond cinema days.

    January 8th & 10th

    January 22nd & 24th

Shaken, not stirred. James Bond knew just what he wanted, and you can join him at the Warner for a post-Valentine’s party with the famous music from his films. Whether you are a Connery or a Moore fan, Brosnan or Craig, you’ll be sure to enjoy the dramatic and irresistible songs from one of films most successful franchises. And as Mr. Bond makes his way into the outer reaches of Siberia (as he seems to do in ever other film!) we’ll honor the great music of Russia with a few popular classics. Consider it an olive in a perfect, dry martini.

    Junior Philharmonic
    Nadine Sherman, cello

I have this film on DVD. Good film. As great a set designer as Adam is, I don't think there are really any sets that especially stand out in this film. Still, it's supposed to be a relatively realistic spy thriller.

Nice guy, Ken Adam. I went to his talk at the BFI in 09 prior to the YOLT screening. Now that's a film that really showcases his talents.
