In my town we have a few colleges and Mexicans pay $0.00 to go to college..
I know a lot of them and they openly admit they are here illegally.
Can you back that up with something.... anything? Sounds like race/class urban myth to me.

Too bad Texas is such a conservative state. Such awful urban myths could never take place here in Librul California...

Kinda hard to do.. We have two high schools in my town, ones mainly white and the other is mainly hispanic/Mexican. It's pretty common that if you are of a different race college is a lot cheaper. Honestly pretty racist a lot of Mexicans receive massive scholarships because colleges assume they are "poor", because they are here illegally..Maybe it's different in other countries or states but I have had hispanic cousins with poorer grades than me pay almost nothing for college and I had a 4.0 yet still $1K a class.

In one of my classes a teacher even asked how many students were paying next to nothing for classes, all of the mexicans raised their hands. It was a small sized class of around 80 students but still you get the idea.

Iv been in the same town my entire life so I have seen it all first hand and I do have tons of friends from high school who are mexican/hispanic and some are here illegally.

Calling a person a racist for wanting to deport illegals is stupid. Calling Trump a racist for not wanting to allow Muslims to come into the USA after tons of beheadings, Paris attacks, San Bernadino, suicide bombings and threats to America are made by radical Muslims is also stupid...
  • @BeatlesSansEarmuffs

Why do so many believe it will be a close call. The American voting map will be as blue as as the sea in Sardinia after the election.
If anything the Reps can be glad if they don't lose both houses. There's where the real suspense lies.

Because that's what they're being told. See my post just above yours.

I'm expecting the Senate to flip, but the gerrymandering of the last two decades will ensure that the House remains in Red hands. Of course, I don't have any polls to back me up on that...it's just a gut feeling. We all know how well those work for 007!

So you let them all flee to America?
Most suicide bombers are women and children. Not the smartest thing to do.

Sure just because you are Mexican does not make you an illegal.

There are African American NBA players who are muslim, are they a threat? 100% no. Why would you let muslim refugees come to America right after several major terrorist attacks?

Not the smartest move. A lot of kids are being trained to behead people now..

Go ahead and watch a few uncensored beheading videos and tell me if you would allow them to come here?

With some trepidation, I'll weigh in on the refugee issue. Why should we allow refugees into the country?

First and foremost, because it's the right thing to do. If the shoe were ever on the other foot, I'd sure hope that there was someone willing to offer a hand if I was forced out of my home and put on the run into another country or even a different continent. This is the biggest reason to do it, because it's the right thing to do. America can't continually claim to have the moral high ground on everything and then refuse to do things that seek to claim that place in the world.

Second, and this is the admittedly more selfish reason (and a distant second place to what I've already stated above), it helps to further curb terrorism. A person who is turned away when seeking help is far more likely to take up arms against you. Instead of treating these people as though they are the enemy, maybe we should treat them as friends. Treat people the way you want to be treated. Treat them as the enemy, then that prophecy will self-fulfill itself. Treat them as a friend and maybe you create a friend.

Refugees aren't being trained to become terrorists. They've got no time or inclination for the training, they're just trying to survive. Terrorists are responsible for them being homeless and having to relocate to faraway foreign lands, in Europe, America, and elsewhere. Refugees are more likely to HATE terrorists. Treat them right and they'll come to love the countries that gave them refuge. Treat them like Trump would have us do and who knows WHAT sort of sociopaths you'll develop? @chris is correct, you're being ruled by fear. We hope for a speedy and beneficial recovery.

We are on the same page, @dalton. You the Republican and I the Democrat have more in common than those who seek to divide us would like to acknowledge. I hope that once this election is over we (and those like us) can act together to heal the divisions that plague this (still, and hopefully forever) great nation.

Maybe you will find this of interest, even if you don't watch all of it. The practicalities of Trump's plan for deporting people currently living in the U.S. as undocumented immigrants.

One of many success stories about an immigrant moving to the U.S. and prospering, helping others, providing jobs, even setting up a foundation to help refugees ... he has done much good - and now he is targeted with hatred.

Two things conservatives in the U.S. can't do:

    1. Keep refugee children from entering the country.
    2. Call themselves Christians who believe life is precious.

Nope. No can do. Not gonna play that.

Build a wall I say! America didn't become the great country it is today by letting in immigrants and those fleeing persecution and poverty!

Errrr.... Oh. May be I need to check my facts.

It is more than a little rich to hear Trump supporters blacklisting Muslims and all other immigrants from seeking security and prosperity in America, when this country was founded on the very idea of immigration.

We are all immigrants, straight down our blood line. Land has no ownership under man in the greater sense. We should all be looking out for each other and sharing what we can, because if we were in the places of immigrants whose homes are being leveled around them through terrorist attacks, we would expect the same courtesies to be sent our way.

There's an extreme lack of compassion on this front.

I guess it's a good thing then that when the first Europeans touched down in the land that would be America the Natives didn't have such a fine system of law enforcement set up to turn back those who deemed unfit to enter, as we probably wouldn't be speaking right now. It also helped that we had guns and outnumbered the natives in power, and took it upon ourselves to torch their traditions and take everything they'd know for ourselves.

But what's legal or illegal when you're the one with the bigger stick, right?

Yes please do compare 2016 to when we first came to America. Things are exactly the same now then they were back then. There is also this thing called taxes.. Most illegals do not pay taxes. Roofing companies and construction companies are 90% illegal and they get paid in cash. They do not get checks which automatically deduct money from you. There's a lot of reasons why illegals are an issue that's just one of them.

My late father the contractor and my brother the contractor would like to have a word with you, back behind the same gym where Joe Biden is having his conversation with Donald Trump. They are 100% legal (well, my brother still is, my father was from sometime in the '60s until he passed away in 2008) pay all their taxes etc. Your urban legends just caught up with you son. Better start running.

Neither does the candidate you've voted for. Is he an illegal alien? Then there's all the jobs he keeps out of America with the manufacture of his "brand's" products. His suits, ties, dress shirts, cufflinks and eyeglasses from India, China, Bangladesh, Vietnam, Honduras and South Korea. The Trump Home line of appliances like mirrors, lamps, sofas and chandeliers manufactured in Turkey, Germany, ChinaIndia and Slovenia. The Trump hotel items he has made and imported from China, Taiwan and South Korea, and on and on and on and on.

The only things he keeps in America, job-wise, are the water bottles he sells (which is gotten from American water reserves, so I'm not even counting that one) and crappy cologne. It can't even be proven that his "Make America Great Again" hats are made 100% inside the US from US produced materials, for Christ's sake.

As for the comparison of the early European settlers and natives, projecting a past historical narrative on the layer of time we now occupy is more than valid, because as we know, history repeats itself endlessly; the faces and figures change, but the failures don't. As Benjamin Franklin is noted as saying, we relive the horrors of mistakes we repeat, or the lapses in our thinking we muddle into an intangible mush. Forgetting that immigrants from anywhere in the globe have just as much a right to this land as us is a grand mistake to make, and a big part of the reason our populace are as ignorant as they are.

I don't even want to guess the percentage of Americans that would actually fail the citizenship tests we require of prospective Americans to pass to be considered official members of our glorious nation. Thousands of immigrant "illegals" know our country better than a meaty percentage of red-blooded Americans (overly-jingoistic dolts), and value the opportunities we spit in the face of.
