    The DN chase is one of the very rare moments in the early Connery days where his performance is disengaged from what it supposed to be portrayed on camera.

    Backseat driving is one of my favorite Bond moments, particularly of that era. This was my first Bond experience and this being one of the highlights of that film.

    * So much badly done here: 1) Bond is shot at, but is strangely unmoved, cannot decide which Q-button to fiddle with on the middle-console. 2) Fiona drives behind Bond and shoots, but then hits the car in the other lane. 3) An Aston always outdrives that other car, so why did Bond have to be rescued? 4) Guy in car shoots with hand on the steering wheel. 5) Motorcycle overtakes Bond on the right, yet Bond looks left. 6) No sense of danger at all.

    ** Brilliant real stunt. The scene is short, but so effective.

    The attempted assassination of Lippe in Thunderball is one of the worst editing jobs in the series. Seriously, go back and watch it, paying particular attention to the road they're driving on.

    Works for me throughout the entire movie. The editing in the movie is criticized too often; it's not impossible to tell what's going on at all.

    It conveys a sense of perpetual danger, so I can see why it's well liked. I think it's just too high octane. Probably the best use of choppy editing was done in On Her Majesty's Secret Service when Blofeld's men are pursuing Bond. That technique is used until the ice skates of Tracey appear, a truly magical moment! In the Quantum of Solace chase, it only stops after all the men are dead. While it's great at conveying the emotion, it is visually leaving the audience cut short. I don't really believe that was wholly necessary for the entire sequence, I think we needed a focal point somewhere.

    Of the chases in the game, this one is the winner for me. As it does serve a purpose.
