    +1: I love the sequence. Things start off with Bond's very sporty looking car blowing up and then there's a nice little in joke with Bond being forced to drive something so much more compact and different from the kind of car we normally see him in. And yet the chase uses the car's compact size as an asset with it bouncing down hills and smoothly navigating through tight areas that Bond's more traditional car probably would have struggled with.

    -2: I respectfully disagree that this is the best chase on this list. If I may speak frankly, with the establishing shot of the sparkling water and the close up shots of the car's shiny body and the focus on the road rolling fast underneath the vehicle's tires to the hum of the engine, the sequence opens a lot like a car TV advertisement and leaves a bad taste in my mouth right from the start. After that any excitement I might have felt in the very brief chase is negated by the continuation of the previous trend for close-ups of things like the car's pedals for no apparent reason. The result (at least for me) is a sequence that is cobbled together in a frustratingly incoherent fashion-- the only option on the list that I actually experienced physical discomfort watching.

    BTW, why is the motorbike/Renault 5 Turbo chase from NSNA not in here? It tops many of the above in terms of choreography, photography and intensity. I would have been curious to see how it would have performed in this poll.

    @josiah Agreed. I did not get the car commercial vibe (it was worse for the BMWs and the DAD Aston), but with more coherent editing, this chase (like other action scenes in QoS - motorboat, rooftop) in principle is one of the better in the series.

    While stylish and beautiful to look at, the SF motorcycle chase is marred (for me, anyway) by some bad CG/green screen. Gave a -1 to the OP chase, mainly because it's a little too goofy at times, and manages to cram in as many Indian stereotypes as it can into one short chase.

    The motorboat chase in QOS is so much better on just about every level (framing, editing, acting, soundtrack). I have QOS in the top half (15), but certainly not number 1. I like a lot of the Moore and Brosnan chases more.

    A car chase, by MI6 definition:

    --There must be a “pursuer” and a “pursuee,” and the latter must be consciously trying to stop/harm/capture/kill the former;
    --James Bond (whether he is the pursuer or pursuee) must be in a car, and the other vehicle (if not also a car) must be one whose purpose is also to drive on streets (in other words, a motorcycle or a truck and not a tank or a plane);
    --The vehicles must be driving inappropriately fast for the surroundings or terrain and pushing the limits of what the vehicle is capable of.
